  1. Heh. No problem. I'll be going through Dallas on Monday. I'll keep my eyes open for a whack job.
  2. I really don't understand why people are losing sleep over a mascot going away. In the grand scheme of things who cares? Although I'm not a fan of any Illini team I still wouldn't care if any of my favorite team's mascot or logo needed to change for whatever reasons. There are more important things in life to concentrate your energy on.
  3. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Feb 20, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) Can someone please explain to me how Chief Illiniwek is offensive to an extinct tribe of Native Americans? Would you be offended by an all black college using a mascot where a black person painted their face white and danced very stiff and rigid during half time?
  4. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) I still can't wrap my brain around the fact that saying "I hate Gays" is more respectful than being "PC". No kidding. I wonder what everyone's reaction would have been if he stated that he hates white people and didn't want them to be on his team.
  5. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 05:00 PM) The question is what does Obama support? http://origin.barackobama.com/issues/
  6. QUOTE(joeynach @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 09:42 AM) ...mainly becuase thats where all the attractions are (speed pitch, fan deck, ease of access to bullpen bar, gift shops, specialty food stands, ticketing area, outfield shower, etc) The UD has speed pitch, gift shops, specialty foods, and ticketing.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 25, 2007 -> 11:06 AM) Bill Melton was just on the radio, and he made it seem like the Sox were bringing in Erstad to be their starting CF. How depressing.
  8. As a die hard Raiders fan I am saddened. What a disgrace this franchise has become. Al Davis needs to retire or pass on.
  9. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 10, 2007 -> 04:17 PM) That's why God invented the curveball I was referring to a bullpen full of fastball-happy pitchers.
  10. QUOTE(Butter Parque @ Jan 10, 2007 -> 01:56 PM) I meant the most historic bullpen by being one of the hardest throwing ever, not talent or production wise. Where's the change of pace? Eventually hitters catch up to high heat if that's all they keep seeing.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) I've seen the machinist about 20 times, it's such a great acting job on his part. He had to go from his regular weight around 195 and toned to 110 and nearly dead for The Machinist and then up over 200 pounds and crazy ripped for Batman Begins. He's so unbelievably dedicated to his work, it's a shame he hasn't done more. He was great in "All the Little Animals".
  12. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 10:38 AM) have you ever seen/heard the Dane Cook Burger King skit where the cashier calls him Chief? LOL That's classic...gaylord
  13. From the Trib today: Dye picked as AL's best in '06 Mark Gonzales Published November 9, 2006 White Sox right fielder Jermaine Dye won the ultimate respect of his peers, being selected as the American League Outstanding Player in the 2006 Major League Baseball Players Choice Awards announced Wednesday. Dye, 32, was chosen in voting conducted by players in September. Dye, who already was named to The Sporting News AL All-Star team, hit .315 with career highs of 44 home runs, 120 RBIs and a .622 slugging percentage. Last week the Sox picked up Dye's 2007 option, which could increase from $6.75 million to $7 million if he wins a Silver Slugger Award, which will be announced Friday, or is in the top five in the AL Most Valuable Player balloting, which is due out Nov. 21.
  14. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 04:31 PM) No doubt. I hate having to always choose between the "lesser of two evils" from the D's or R's. There was a 3rd option for the gubernatorial race.
  15. Perhaps we should go invade all the other countries that have dictators.
  16. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) What a moron. Seems like everything is racist/sexist these days. Including George Allen.
  17. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) Some states have a law where it's automatic. Not sure if VA is one of those. I agree, tho, Chisoxfn... no recount. Just move on, unlike Webb would have. Can anyone say "sore loser"?
  18. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 8, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) Most polarizing post in the whole damn thread. Possibly all day. I would really appreciate one post of yours that doesn't resort to mocking and hyperbole in this forum. Sorry, that's harsh, but you cry partisanship all day, and then you post something like this? Please. Amen to that.
  19. It's nice to wake up with a big smile on your face.
  20. QUOTE(joeynach @ Nov 7, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Well you certaintly cant want Thome in there every game we face a tough lefty on the mounds he killed our team and middle of the lineup in that regards last year. You got a better idea? I'd take a poor lefty hitting player over a guy that's always hurt.
  21. I would love to have Alou on the 60 day DL. He would be the best player on our DL in many years.
  22. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) And I am sick and f*cking tired of people using the argument that if you haven't worn the uniform, then you can't criticize or have an opinion about the war/military. f*** you, John Kerry. The fact that you 'served' doesn't give you immunity from still being a class A prick. Amazing how riled up people get over something like this. Anyone care about the actual issues anymore?
  23. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 1, 2006 -> 10:58 AM) John Kerry screwed up. "But it's just a little misquote". /rolly John Kerry has a history of slamming our troops (for political gain, I might add) for over three decades. The guy is a class A jerk (to be nice). Luckily you won't have to vote for him next week.
