QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) First of all, it sucks for the guide (even though he sounds like a douche) because Gentry is going to just blame it all on him. He'll probably get away with this with a slap on the wrist. Second, Gentry is a pussy. A bow and arrow? A real man would've used this: The bear would have passed away from a heart attack upon seeing such a poorly fashioned cane.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) This man is one of the greatest heros in American History. Those bears may be playing tame, but deep down they remain Godless Killing Machines. Those country stars have helped save America. Nicely done.

LINK DULUTH, Minn. - Troy Lee Gentry, of the country singing duo Montgomery Gentry, has been accused of killing a tame black bear that federal officials say he tagged as killed in the wild. Gentry, 39, of Franklin, Tenn., and Lee Marvin Greenly, 46, of Sandstone, appeared Tuesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Raymond Erickson in connection with a sealed indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Minneapolis. Authorities allege that Gentry purchased the bear from Greenly, a wildlife photographer and hunting guide, then killed it with a bow and arrow in an enclosed pen on Greenly’s property in October 2004. The government alleges that Gentry and Greenly tagged the bear with a Minnesota hunting license and registered the animal with the state Department of Natural Resources as a wild kill. Gentry allegedly paid about $4,650 for the bear, named Cubby. The bear’s death was videotaped, and the tape later edited so Gentry appeared to shoot the animal in a “fair chase” hunting situation, the government alleges. If convicted, both Gentry and Greenly face a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison and a $20,000 fine. Gentry’s manager, Johnny Dorris, said Wednesday that Gentry, an outdoorsman and hunter, expects to be exonerated. Gentry “relied on the knowledge and expertise of a local guide to obtain the proper permit,” Dorris said in a written statement. “Troy felt what he did was legal and in full compliance of the law and was surprised to hear of the indictment.” Greenly did not return a phone message seeking comment. Montgomery Gentry, along with co-singer Eddie Montgomery, are known for hits such as “My Town” and “If You Ever Stop Loving Me.”

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Case in point: Global Warming. You're a geologist. Looking at your rocks and land masses and land forms, etc etc you're able to study the effects of the weather on the land right? And it's been proven (by said means) that temperatures have increased and decreased dramatically over the last hundred thousand years. BUT, scientists of today rely on 100 years worth of data (a good chunk of which is probably unreliable) to inductively reason that WE are the cause of some impending global warming disaster, never mind the fact that the Earth has been both ice and fire many times over. Can they show a cause and effect of human interaction with the Earth that coincides with a change in the climate? Sure. But does that mean that the human interaction CAUSED the change in climate? No. Perhaps you can try sitting in the garage for a few hours with the car running. I'm sure you'll be fine. Multiply those gases into the billions and you'll have our current atmosphere. I'm sure what humans are doing have no effect on global warming.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 12:32 PM) They only gave it to Boston during the Royals' sweep of the Carmines. Boston seems to like getting swept. They're trying to get swept again tonight. -

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 12:24 PM) KC's lineup isn't a mickey mouse lineup... To bad no one gave that memo to the Twins when they completed their 4 game sweep of the Royals recently. -
I can't beleive we've lost more games to KC than to Detroit.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 09:01 PM) NH is the most boring state I've ever been to. Two of my friends are from there, and all we do at their places is look for moose and possibly shoot guns. The second part is fun, but not when that's all there is to do. Yeah, pretty boring out here. I come out here couple times a year for work. At least there's no sales tax so I'll typically do a little shopping.

Inning over in Boston. 7-4 Tigers.
