  1. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) I forget where I saw the rumor, but supposedly the D'Backs were interested in Jake Westbrook. You think they'd be interested in Garcia? Andy Garcia, yes. Freddy Garcia, no.
  2. QUOTE(supernuke @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) I don't think McCarthy to the rotation would work. We would almost be in September by the time he was sufficiently stretched out. Well '5 Inning Javy' and 'Bombs Away Buehrle' aren't much help right now either so I'll take my chances stretching McCarthy out.
  3. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) I'm not calling for it. I think a lot of people wouldn't mind giving Makowiak more opportunities in LF. After all, he was brought in as a utility outfielder.
  4. QUOTE(chisoxfan14 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) Get rid of Pods!!! WHAT!? are you kidding me!? Please let's never say that again!!!!!!! You can always stare at the Podsednik poster in your bedroom after he's traded. Great. Seems like everything is just fine in Walker's head. 3-12 in our last 15 games. No need to change anything.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) Oakland? the LA Angels? I am old. I can only remember the last 6 weeks.
  6. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:10 PM) ...but let's face it, there's only one starting pitcher currently on the market who would represent an upgrade over what the White Sox have in their rotation -- and that's Barry Zito of Oakland. How about McCarthy? I'd call him an upgrade.
  7. QUOTE(champ @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:21 PM) This funk started before the All Star Break (even before that Red Sox series). It really started way back in Pittsburgh at the end of June. Sure, they were still winning games, but they were winning games against bad teams (a la Detroit). Now, you put a good team out there against a struggling Sox team, and you're in trouble. I can't think of a single AL team that we've "owned" this year.
  8. For all the talk about why we wouldn't need Soriano, an argument could be made that he would be the best hitter on our team with the numbers he's putting up. He only has 1 less HR than Thome and is much younger. He'll also probably end up with more steals at the end of the year than Pods.
  9. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 11:58 AM) He would be an improvement in my eyes. So would a spelling and grammar check on this site.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 09:18 AM) The Twins can't keep playing as good as they have recently for the rest of the season. Why not? That's all I kept hearing about the Tigers for the first 3 months.
  11. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 08:53 AM) Iguchi Mackowiak Dye Konerko Thome Crede AJ Uribe Anderson This breaks up the righties Lets Thome hit behind some .300 hitters Forces Mack to maybe take some pitches batting second I actually like that lineup but there's no way Ozzie would ever use it.
  12. Does this mean I need to take down all my Lance Bass posters?
  13. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 06:34 AM) Also, Santana and Liriano will not win every game they pitch. They are hot, but it will be very difficult for them to keep this current pace. I don't know what Liriano will do the rest of the way but didn't Hawk say the other night that Santana is 33-3 after the ASB in the last 3 years combined?
  14. QUOTE(flbob @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 07:53 AM) back out that bad stretch and the tigers have been 21-12 against the best. So I guess the Sox can back out these last 2 weeks at the end of the year.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) Ozzie praising the Hell out of Minnesota, refusing to point fingers. Not going to consider putting McCarthy in the rotation. Didn't really even talk to the team after the game. Hooray
  16. Is it mathematically possible for the Royals to finish with a better record then us?
  17. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) you can listen to the postgame on www.670thescore.com Not at work I can't. Blocked.
  18. If anyone has access to Ozzie's post game interview can you share some of his thoughts with us?
  19. QUOTE(dyenamite23 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) does anyone think there is a chance clemens is moved he goes to the a's and we get zito just my thoughts not any rumor There is a 98% probability of that occurring.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) Is this a question for Lance Bass? LMAO Nicely done.
  21. It's just a slump guys. We did it last year and we can do it again. Are you IN or are you OUT?!?
  22. QUOTE(Felix @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) Yea, this team can't score off of Lohse. Especially not with 5 more innings to hit in. Must we keep having to come from behind? When will these highly paid pitchers show up and get the job done?
  23. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) spiff, I was just going to post how good Soriano would've looked with runners on 1st and 3rd with two outs, but it turns out he has a sub .200 BA when there's a runner in scoring position with two outs. Walker would fix that.
