  1. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) So... you guys want Anderson to play 162 games a year, then? Who is his sub if not Mack? That's the dilemma.
  2. So who subs for BA when he needs a day off?
  3. You are preaching to the choir. He has been completely misused. He should play twice a week, one game to rest Pods and one game to rest Dye. Pablo should only sub Crede and pinch run.
  4. And it's so completely obvious when it's going to happen. You can see his emotions on his sleeve after a bad defensive play or cheap hit. He's like the anti-Zambrano.
  5. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 09:47 AM) And as for pulling Javy after 4 or 5 innings as soon as he gives up a hit... I can't believe people would consider that. If Vazquez can't ever last 6 innings, and/or can't survive an inning once he gives up a run, then he shouldn't be starting at all. Thats at least a logical argument to make. But until he is traded or replaced, he needs to be treated like a starter, or he'll never get any better. In my eyes he shouldn't be a starter with us anymore. Reminds me of the Politte situation. How many times must we get burned by the exact same type of outing before we realize the guy is basically worthless?
  6. Although I am not a big fan of calling a game a must win in July but this is as close to a must win as you can get. Detroit is not having trouble beating the other teams in the league so we have to do it ourselves.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 09:27 AM) What I really can't stand is that Ozzie said himself that the Tiger series was a big one, yet he threw two utility players into the lineup in only the second game. And of course, Mackowiak misplayed a ball that ended up hurting us, as he does every single game he starts in CF. Why the hell did we get Makowiak? He's a utility corner outfielder who can play a little 3rd and 1st. We are completely misusing him.
  8. Here's a pic from the flood before last night's game vs Atlanta: And the story: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/s...ll=chi-news-hed
  9. From Trib: Going into this game, opponents were hitting .228 against Vazquez in their first two times through the batting order, .361 thereafter. Why doesn't our manager and coaching staff realize this? Are their heads buried in sand? They should have a guy start warming whenever Vazquez sees the batters for a 3rd time in a game.
  10. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Jul 20, 2006 -> 08:12 AM) reminds me of the simpsons episode where Mr. Burns takes out Daryl Strawberry(lefty) to have Homer (righty) face the left handed pitcher.... "But I have 9 Homeruns today!" LOL That's priceless.
  11. Won't be long before we can't keep throwing out "We still have the 2nd best record in baseball".
  12. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:52 PM) Why do you like saying, "Best team in baseball" and repeating that they've got the best record in baseball? They have played better than any other team thus far.
  13. Heh....Josh Mora says it's a game we should have won. Really? 2 solo HRs is good enough against the team with the best record in baseball?
  14. Back to a 4.5 game lead for Detroit. Twins will most likely win as well.
  15. I guess 2 solo HRs isn't going to be enough to beat the best team in baseball.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) I seriously can't remember the last time Widger got a hit. During the Reagan administration.
  17. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) Alright, I'm pissed at the way Javy has performed this half of the season as well, but remember that Count was having these same types of problems last year at the All-Star break. Rome wasn't built in a day so hoprfully Javy still has time this year to fix his mechanical problems in bad spots (I watched the local feed, but it sounds like he does have fixable mechanical problems). Hopefully Javy turns into a dependable member of the rotation at some point this season (assuming he isnt traded) Jose didn't have a 5.20 ERA at any time last year.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 08:14 PM) Vazquez's bad innings are so predictable it's almost freightening. Usually a missed strikeout call, shoddy defense, or a soft hits begins a parade of runs. Funny how these situations always seems to find Vazquez around the middle innings. I don't believe it's a coincidence. Since lineups usually hit him well the 3rd time around, better contact is made. Thus, more opportunities for a misplay or bloopers occurs. Let's not avert attention off of that goof on the mound. At some point, you have to look past his stuff and realize this guy has little testicular fortitude. That pretty much sums it all up.
  19. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) wow, sweet, looks like they want Bonderman to ghrow a complete game The way we're swinging he will.
  20. Still wondering what everyone saw in this guy. He's been no better than medicore since his days in Montreal.
  21. What a worthless trade that was to get this bum.
  22. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 19, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) NO HANGARS He's busy ripping the media.
