This Keppel kid with a nice performance out of the pen....so far. EDIT: I spoke too soon. Gah!
-
Woohoo! Emil Brown doubles in another run. 8-5 Royals.
-
Andres Blanco look like this guy Pico I saw on the side of the street picking daisies and what not.
-
Bobby Keppel mowing them down!

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2006 -> 02:57 PM) Well it's good to see Mike Maroth remembered that he f***ing sucks, hopefully Robertson follows suit ASAP. I think it was pain-related problems with Maroth. Elbow?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 25, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) Heres a trivia question, how many pitchers have the tigers faced this year with ERA's under 4? And how many of those were victories? I give up.

I can only imagine how many people are actually at this game.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:11 PM) Soxtalk is kinda addicting.

QUOTE(Wolverine31 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) It's 6-0 Royals over the Tigers in the first inning. Mike Maroth felt pain in his pitching elbow but started anyway and it's obvious he shouldn't have by the .1 IP, 6 ER, 3 HR stat line. Wow. 6 runs on 7 hits in the 1st inning for the Royals. Too bad they will probably lose 11-7.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) I really hope you're serious. If I were to buy a jersey, it would be Ozuna or Iguchi. Dead serious. Iguchi was my 2nd choice. Great minds think alike.

There was one scene where Bobby did an impersonation of Ozzie's call to the pen in the World Series but he added a little extra gesture at the end. Wasn't kid-friendly but I laughed my ass off.

Anyone at the game last night check out JD TV? It was so bizarre and funny. I would love to get a copy of that somehow. Was hard to hear but it was like a blooper real of interviews or something. Guys singing, some wearing wigs, and complete randomness.

Black Ozuna jersey is next for me.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:18 AM) IMO the suspensions will go down like this: Anderson: 5 games Cora: 3 games AJ: Nothing Contreras: 5 games Pods: Nothing Barrett: 10 games Lee: 3-5 games Mabry: 1 game Why Contreras 5 and Lee 3-5?

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 25, 2006 -> 11:06 AM) Baseball is a slow sport, and people can do things like the wave inbetween pitches and still be fine. I didn't realize the wave stopped during a pitch and resumed in between pitches.

I just changed my bookmark to the front page.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:37 AM) Not true. All tickets are not sold for the Cubs. Heck, I've seen their ads on TV and in the Trib for single game tickets. Cubs are averaging about 37k a game right now, and as they continue to suck, the number will drop slightly (ever so slightly). I do agree that the Sox won't catch them, but it will end up being within a couple thousand probably. Cubs at 39K plus. Sox passed 34K after last night.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:23 AM) I agree with the fan etiquette thoughts in here, however that's turned into a terrible problem at ALL parks I went to a game at the Metrodome last year. The ushers would not let you down to your seat from the concession area during an at bat.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:21 AM) Monday night I went to get Destiny who was sitting behind the plate with my sister.. when I brought her over to our section and were waiting for the 3rd out.. some ass walks in front of us and she says "hey... game going on!". He didn't hear her. Turns out he was sitting in the 5th row on the end so when we walk down she spots him and is sure to tell him... "you're not supposed to walk when the game is going on". She's 5. Bravo!

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:11 AM) Let me also point out that a crowd of 15 k that is going wild circa 2002 CAN be better than a sellout crowd doing the wave during key spots and such, so I agree with the premise.......however more people=more payroll, and I'll sacrifice a few bandwagoners in the park if it gives us more money to spend, ESPECIALLY with Kenny as GM since I know in that case the money will be spent wisely. I'll be the first to say that I prefer a full house over 15K. Was just voicing my displeasure with a large portion of the crowd's behavior.

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ May 24, 2006 -> 05:35 PM) Guess again. http://www.investors.com/editorial/IBDArti...&issue=20060519 I didn't realize NUKE wrote for investors.com.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 25, 2006 -> 08:07 AM) If your b****ing about the crowds, that's fine. If you want 15 k at games and 15 million dollars less payroll, that's your problem, but I'll take the bigger crowds and more important, the bigger payroll. I didn't say I wanted crowds of 15K. The crowd on Monday was 100 times better and into the game from start to finish. Yesterday was a joke.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:28 AM) A crowd that is doing the wave is not a crowd that is creating an electric atmosphere, it's one that is too busy f***ing around to even notice 3 pitching changes and a run crossing the plate. I'm sorry but I'd rather have my cake and eat it too. I really used to enjoy those 15K crowds and I know I'm not alone on this one. I love me some 38K but those 15K, put your feet up and enjoy the game with people who really cared sure were fun. I completely agree with you. Normally I just roll my eyes when the wave starts but that's because the game is not very close. Last night the wave was in full effect during a critical time in the game. Everyone around us was completely focused on the wave while the tying runner was at the plate in the 8th. You can see everyone's attention turned to their right so they can wait and get ready for the wave to hit our section. They should have been looking straight ahead at the critical at bat. And whenever the wave made a full lap around the park the place went absolutely crazy with cheers louder than for any of the RBIs our guys hit. Was truly pathetic. Additionally, after Thome, Konerko, and Dye were retired in the bottom of the 8th, 15% of the stadium got up and left. Why?!?! It was a 3-2 game. It was still early (9:30). The top of the A's order was going to be coming up in the 9th. I have never felt so embarassed with the fans at our park like I was yesterday.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 24, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) Its been said the Cooler had somewhat of a troubled past however..... I believe it's the same cooler that poured its contents all over several successful football coaches in the past. Definitely a shady cooler.

Ozzie: Mack going to start more games in CF

QUOTE(fathom @ May 24, 2006 -> 03:47 PM) The more this season goes on, the more I believe we're going to be in the market for a CF in a few months. Griffey!!
