  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) It could... but it might blow up in our faces as he's been a starter all of his career. Didn't he come out of the bullpen quite a few times his first couple of years with the Sox? I think he even pitched out of the bullpen in the 2000 post season.
  2. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 01:40 PM) I doubt that was really said. Actually he did say it. I heard it while driving around this morning.
  3. For game 2 I sat next to my buddy's co-worker friend at the bar watching the game. I asked him if he was a big Sox fan. He said he like both teams...Cubs and Sox, which immediately meant he didn't know s*** about the Sox. He showed up just after the Iguchi homer and I asked him if he heard about the 3 run homer. He replied "Yeah Taguchi is awesome".
  4. It's a shame that the Marte from 2 years ago isn't what we have right now. The bullpen would be unhittable. That being said, he needs to go. Bring in McCarthy for round 2.
  5. Good riddance. Berman is an assclown.
  6. QUOTE(redsoxjamie @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 09:55 AM) Let me chime in on this as a Red Sox fan, if I may. . . The main problem with Manny to the White Sox is not his attitude. Believe me, with 45 HR and 144 RBI's, you get used to it. He's a pain in the butt, for sure, but he is one of the most productive, if not the most productive, hitter in the game. The problem is that you guys don't have anything that the Red Sox are going to trade Manny for. If the Red Sox are going to trade Manny, they're going to want somebody who can at least come close to matching his offensive production, and you guys don't have that. The Red Sox have the 2nd highest payroll in baseball--they don't need to dump Manny's salary. (Unlike the Rangers trading A-Rod--they WERE being limited by A-Rod's salary, and even they demanded Alfonso Soriano, who is far from "nothing".) Regardless of how badly they want to trade Manny, fans in Boston are going to be PISSED--myself included--and they're going to have to have something to show for it. You guys just aren't a good "match" for this trade. Just my opinion. Wouldn't Boston consider trading him for some great pitching? Does it necessarily have to be for another amazing hitter? Not that I want him on my team but just asking.
  7. I would be very unhappy if we got Manny. What a lazy piece of s***.
  8. Please give me a 1-2-3 inning. No more ulcers.
  9. why not pinch run in case of a medium fly ball?
  10. I loathe Berman. He might as well wear a Red Sox polo shirt or necktie.
  11. Insurance runs would be nice for my blood pressure
  12. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 06:04 PM) Duque IN McCarthy IN Marte OUT
  13. QUOTE(rcpweiner @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 06:02 PM) So wait, IF we get to the next round can we drop Marte's ass for McCarthy? Most definitely
  14. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) I'm still mad about Ozzie bringing in Marte At least we know he's done for the post season.
  15. well it's come down to the bullpens and I like ours a lot better than theirs
  16. FYI: I just called the box office to verify whether I can pick up the ALCS willcall tickets during business hours on any day. The lady stated that willcall for ALCS can be picked up only on the 7th, 8th and 10th from 10am - 9pm.
  17. Question: Can I go to the box office whenever they are open to pickup the tickets at will call or does it have to be the day of the game?
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) out of town ticket masters cannot sell this event. I call shenanigans Well they did. I won't complian.
  19. I called the St Louis ticketmaster phone number and easily got through and got tickets. EDIT: by the way...this was at 12:15 after I gave up on waiting online.
  20. I hope they save a few for tomorrow. This is ridiculous.
