    QUOTE(lord chas @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 10:55 PM) yep borchard should have pinch hit for dye. if ozzie wouldnt use him why even bring him up Huh?!? Are you serious? Why??
  2. We are now 0-6 in extra innings at home. Not good for a team most likely to get homefield advantage.
  3. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Dye ain't no star, either. Dye is hitting for better average and has more HRs than Carl. I think that's enough reason to bat him 3rd.
  4. Enough of the Everett bashing. He's not the reason we lost today....well he's part of it. But Mark should have done better.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) He's really been brutal especially from the left side lately. He has no business batting third. The worst #3 hitter among playoff contenders.
  6. Why do we have a .255 hitter batting 3rd? When will Dye get a chance to bat 3rd?
  7. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) You dont walk a guy with nobody on and two out. I dont care if his name is Baby Ruthe Are you kidding? He can take the lead with 1 swing. He is Bonds-like.
  8. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) This is an interesting decision with no one on base and 2 out He is 1 of about 4 or 5 hitters ( in all of baseball) than can beat you. I'd walk him too.
  9. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:56 PM) You really cannot say enough about the recent turnaround of Juan Uribe though. I never thought I would be agreeing with a post about Juan Uribe plate discipline, but his entire approach at the plate has changed recently. No doubt. It's like he's a completely different hitter. Maybe we can pretend we traded Juan Uribe for a Uribe clone that hits better. So I guess we did make a trade at the deadline afterall...super Uribe.
  10. Well there's one good thing about Mark's poor start today. Don Cooper was on AM 1000 today and said that BMAC's role would depend on how Jon and Mark were involved in the CY Young race. I think after today we can count Mark out of that race. BMAC should get another start.
  11. Tying run to the plate for the Twins. 1 out. 9th inning.
  12. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) How come we get a walk with 2 outs and never make 'em pay. If this was a Mark walk ... bam! Because our offense is not that good.
  13. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) Esteban Yan can cure an offense's ills. Lets hope so.
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) He had given up 4 runs in 18 innings against them coming in. A 2 ERA against them. pretty good. Thay may be the case vs Anaheim but against playoff contenders this is a typical game for Mark. He blows against Oakland and Boston this year.
  15. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) LAA MVP: Mark Buehrle
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Mark's got nothin tonight Which unfortunately is typical when he faces a potential playoff team.
  17. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:41 PM) Lets all agree on one thing: we hope mark can settle down for 2-3 more innings. Of course. Although many of us are often critical of our players, there is nothing more that we'd want than to have them win the rest of their games decidedly. We all love this team.
  18. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) He is an ace on quite a few staffs, but not playoff ones. IMO Bingo!
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) What stats do you want me to look up?? If you think Buehrle sucks you have a problem. Who said he sux?
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) I deserved to be smacked for all the bad things I said about Konerko earlier in the season... Um...me too.
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 9, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Bulls***. He's been one of the best pitchers in baseball the last many seasons. Although I want to agree with you it seems like he is more of a borderline ace and #2 guy.
  22. Buehrle has been a bit frustrating to watch at times in the 2nd half of the season.
