  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) *slow clap*
  2. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) I think were flat because our team is playing small ball in a long ball park We've been playing small ball in a HR park all year. Seems like we've been struggling at home only recently. I just think it would have been a nice boost to get a big bat at the deadline.
  3. Back to the original post...anyone else think there was a bit of a letdown by the team when we didn't pick up a big name at the trade deadline? I mean look at what happened to the Cubs when they picked up Nomar or when Houston picked up Beltran. Those teams reacted very well while we are very flat.
  4. Anyone think we've been flat this last week because there was no big pickup at the trade deadline? Usually a team doing this well gets a nice acquisition at the deadline as a shot in the arm. We picked up Geoff Blum. I remember during the FOX game last Saturday before the deadline, Willie and Buehrle were in the dugout talking and Willie said something like "So you think we are going to pick up someone? I'm sure we are." It just seemed like the team was ready for a big name to come in and help. I'm not blaming Kenny because I know he tried but I think the team would have reacted differently had we picked up a Burnett or Huff. Just a thought.
  5. I'm going with a group of +20. I really hope I can be proud of their performance tonight. (The Sox...not the group of 20 people)
  6. Just got back home from the airport. Checked my phone (4 hour flight from San Fran) and what a disappointment. So lets see.....Sox play like s*** in front of large crowds at home. Not a very good formula for October. Jesus Christ.
  7. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:10 AM) Alan Embree? Hideo Nomo? Al Leiter? Shingo Takatsu? Ain't it funny how the Yankees have become the baseball equivalent to Victory Auto Wreckers? "Do you have old, beatup s*** that you're not using? We'll take it!"
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 12:04 PM) I have only one pic. That of AJP's wife. Not bad at all: Meh. Nothing special.
  9. I've seen Ozzie's wife and her name is Timo.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) Off topic, but just noticed Buehrle will miss the Yankees both series, unless the rotation is mixed up. No biggie. I think we can handle the Yankees without him. They are not very good.
  11. QUOTE(Be Good @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) Rowand did good when he was batting 3rd earlier in the season, and the only reason he was taken out of 3 is because Frank was back. Now that Frank is gone Rowand should go back to hitting 3rd. I disagree. The #3 spot is for your best hitter. I don't think Aaron is our best hitter right now. Dye has been much more consistent, with power, over the last couple months.
  12. QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) Yeah and weren't you one of the guys advocating we trade whatever it took to get AJ Burnett? The deal that was on the table? Yes. Contreras is killing our bullpen. Burnett would have been a nice replacement.
  13. I don't really care what the so-called experts think about our team. They have been wrong from day 1. All we do is win games. More than any other team in MLB. Oh...and doesn't El Duque give us a little bit of post season experience?
  14. QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) If we win 4 of 6 in NY and Boston I'll shut the $*&%^ up I promise How bout you do that starting now?
  15. QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) BTW you can edit your posts so there's no reason to post twice in a row, doofwad. Thanks for the great insight there Bill Gates.
  16. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) How much playoff experience does Harden have? Huston Street probably has a lot more post season saves than Dustin.
  17. QUOTE(tony72 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) let's give him a HELL YEAH !! today.. Hell Yeah!!!
  18. QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) we haven't played the elite teams much Who are these elite teams you are referring to? The only team we haven't played are the Yanks and they aren't exactly elite these days. :finger
  19. QUOTE(sti3 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) So you think folks are afraid of this team? Face it, we've feasted on our division which is what it takes these days, but we haven't played the elite teams much, and have looked awful against the A's. We actually play in a pretty solid division (minus KC). And a lot of teams look awful against the As. What are you some cub troll?
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) He's looked like a real closer to me all season. I'm talking lights out closer. Unhittable.
  21. Dustin looking like a real closer today.
