    QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Totally forgot about Don's (Dickie's) brother hanging himself way back after Don paid him to go away. Oh yeah. Good catch.
  3. QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 4, 2012 -> 11:18 AM) Based on what I am reading off of fansites for Prometheus, you'll Currently at 80% on RT. I'm going in with tempered expectations and hope that they're exceeded.

    QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) Mad Men finishing strong this season. I'd be floored if they didn't win another emmy for best drama. This season has been ridiculously good.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) It was too sunny! The barometric pressure was a smidge higher than my liking.
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 3, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) Average attendance this series: 22,810 The weather was awful.
  8. Is it me or does Jake have one blue eye and one cyborg eye?
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) Not a chance they wouldn't sell out if they made the playoffs. Agreed
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 12:47 PM) Even CLE had been drawing much better recently on weekends, and they're far far far away the worst team in overall MLB attendance. I would guess the only situations that fit your scenario are Tampa Bay, Miami (before the new stadium) and Oakland. Maybe Toronto, Baltimore and Seattle...to an extent. You have to think at least 25% of it's the dynamic pricing model and the fact that it's just much more convenient than ever before to follow the team on cable tv, satellite, at a bar, internet, cell phone, GameDay Audio, AtBat, etc. These are all just excuses. Not buying it. I'm sure we'll see 100 more excuses in this thread before it's said and done. Let's face it, our fan base is just very small.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) True, but how many people do you talk to in your life who say they can't do this or that because "I don't have the money." Or you go out with them and they are so cheap cause they "don't have the money." A group of buddies used to go to Vegas once a year and it died down when the economy went to hell and they couldn't afford to throw money around the tables and sportsbooks and clubs like they used to. That doesn't address the lousy attendance prior to the economy tanking.
  12. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Jun 2, 2012 -> 12:36 PM) Its a city divided and for whatever reason it's divided more toward the team on the North Side of Chicago. I don't buy that. With several million people in the metropolitan area you'd think getting 35k on a weekend for a 100 win team in 2005 shouldn't be a problem. Same goes for yesterday. The hottest teams in baseball playing extremely well in all facets of the game with an elite pitching matchup and you can't break 20K?! There are very few teams I could think of that would have this problem. Most cities would have broken 25K last night if their team had won 8 straight going in and was in 1st place. And this is Chicago not some podunk town.
  13. I guess I'll never understand why the 3rd largest city in the US cannot support this team and fill up the stadium when we have one of the best teams in baseball. I'm sick of all of the excuses over the years that even I have used to justify the lack of attendance. Just look at 2005. We had weekend games in September where we could only draw 28K or 30K. A year where we were close to winning a 100 games. I guess I've come to realize that our fan base is pretty small.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) It fixes everything "honey!....come in here"
  15. QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:45 PM) blow this game wide open Yes blow.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:41 PM) What a horrendous at bat Told you he wasn't worth the wait.
  17. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) He decided that mitts are for p*****s and decided to mountain man it and catch it with his face. The ball however won the battle.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) Why isn't there a PR (Lillibridge) for Konerko? We need him to score on a sac fly... According to gameday Lillibridge came in for Paulie before Rios' AB.
  19. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) Seems to me like thornton always gives up hits when he goes back out there for another inning. Cue the lame "he gets paid to get people out and should be able to go two innings" crowd.
  20. QUOTE (bulokis @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) Matt Thornton, overpayed. I think he's also overpaid.
  21. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 07:31 PM) Matt Thornton everybody! *golf clap* heh
