What kind of laws do they have in Florida? What a f***ed up state. This lady gets 20 years for firing a warning shot at her abusive husband. She should have just killed him and said she was standing her ground.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 11, 2012 -> 01:00 PM) But he's a southpaw. True. He also has issues with his attention span. He's been known to wander off and hug children.

Love the update at the bottom of this blog post.

Maybe Southpaw could step in for a game or two.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 11, 2012 -> 12:56 PM) It's gonna be tough to replace his bat.

If I were you guys I would work from home or take time off to avoid that headache.

And even if they are among the biggest charities, they still pour tons of money into political campaigns to fight gay marriage and other issues. That's where I was going with when I asked about their tax exemption status.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2012 -> 10:51 AM) The Catholic Church is the biggest charitable organization on the planet. Not saying you're wrong but it's difficult to find data to substantiate this claim. Or maybe I'm terrible at search terms.
-
Someone remind me again why the church is tax exempt?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 11, 2012 -> 08:53 AM) Well I bricked my phone the first time I tried so I can't say I'm good at it! I need to SBF back to the previous build and go from there. What ROM do you recommend? I was still running the stock gingerbread 2.3. Which phone do you have? Every phone has a slew of different custom ROMs. I have Sprint's Galaxy S II and I'm running the Blu Kuban ROM which is 4.0.3, Ice Cream Sandwich.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 11, 2012 -> 06:59 AM) Stupid OTA Droid update to 1.3.418 broke root access. You must have skipped root 101 where you're told to NEVER accept an update when you're rooted. They typically have a rooted version of the update within a day.

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ May 11, 2012 -> 08:42 AM) There's something really wrong with the nature of the investigation being released prior to any charges being filed. Even IF Anderson is found not guilty, he'll never recover. I don't have much compassion for him if he is involved in child porn in some way, but the information leaking out so quickly is really unfair. Agreed -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 11, 2012 -> 08:38 AM) There are a lot of people who believe in God and also believe in the Big Bang and everything that comes after that. Most people on this board apparently think that's a ridiculous thing to believe. I agree with your first statement. Not sure about the 2nd. There are approximately 10 active posters in the buster. You're exaggerating a bit.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 10, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) $1 million in 90 minutes after the "announcement". WOOT! SSM (even though he doesn't give a s*** in reality unless he makes money and gains votes for it). And you just gave him props for it, where was the same thing three years ago? I didn't think so. That was one of the only times I had ever given credit to Dick Cheney. I don't recall there being a 200 page argument about it in here. Your straight up rage regarding this whole situation is unhealthy and quite disturbing to be perfectly honest.

A wonderfully written and articulate article from Bristol Palin. Here's a snippet:

QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 10, 2012 -> 07:38 PM) Where was your all out praise and admiration for Dick Cheney when he said almost EXACTLY the same thing 3 years ago? Where was the evolutionary thinking back then? I didn't think so. And that man actually has real skin in the game, unlike the dorkass "most powerful man in the world" in the choose a topic du jour to spout bulls*** about for more campaign money. It's really funny that none of you can see that. How does this sound like "All out praise and admiration"? I also mentioned earlier that I would not send his campaign any money over this. Your definition of all out praise and admiration must be a little different than mine.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 10, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) Apparently Mitt said he'd take a lot of credit for the auto industry turn around the other day. wtf? As long as he's sincere about that statement then I have no reason to complain.
-
QUOTE (kapkomet @ May 10, 2012 -> 07:22 PM) The man doesn't give a s*** about ssm. But you all love him for it. I don't love him for it but when the most powerful man in the world decided to support a cause I'm completely for, then I can't complain.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 10, 2012 -> 02:25 PM) Glenn Greenwald, who's generally incredibly critical of Obama on the civil liberties front, has an excellent article expanding on much of what soxbadger is saying. http://www.salon.com/2012/05/09/e_3/ I already quoted this last night. Sheesh

Pol Pot never changed his mind. You could trust his word.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 10, 2012 -> 10:42 AM) I don't now that it is fair to say that he changed his core position here. I may be wrong, but in the past he didn't advocate for gay marriage. That is different from actually opposing it, even if it is still a bad position. As was pointed out, he ended doma and dadt. On the other hand, his wh just recently delayed implementing a non-discrimination policy for federal contractors. Exactly. He was 90% there and yesterday he took that last step. It's not like he was advocating mandated gay conversion across the country on Tuesday and did a complete 180 yesterday.
