  1. I actually have a copy of the bill and it consists of one sentence. It reads: "Violence against women should be illegal."
  2. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 12:01 PM) Who do you usually vote for? I honestly try to look at the issues and see who best aligns with my priorities. I wish we had a strong 3rd party because the two major ones are pretty awful for the most part.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) This is not true. There's a high burden of proof for a plaintiff going after a cop (willful and wanton) than every day citizens (negligence). And it's almost unheard of for cops to be charged criminally with a shooting that ends in death. But again, Zimmerman's not just some vigilante with a gun. He's the neighborhood watch. He's in regular contact with the police department. He's licensed and certified to carry a gun. If he's being trained and certified on an annual basis (to whatever degree you want him to be trained/certified) i'm guessing you still wouldn't like him carrying a gun. All I know is despite the training and the badge, there are a lot of s***ty cops out there. Not sure why you think they're so much better than a well-trained private citizen. Well-trained private citizen? This guy ignored advice from 911 dispatchers and wound up killing an unarmed minor. Not sure how you can use well-trained in the same breath as George Zimmerman.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 12:38 PM) Personally, I'm an igneous rock guy...the Ph.D. was spent melting rocks in a lab and looking at the chemistry of the magmas generated. Currently, I'm measuring compositions of rocks from Mars and from the asteroid Vesta and using those measurements to look at the history of those rocks and how they were generated. Well you're certainly not modest....oh wait, you said igneous and not ingenious.
  5. Any hip hop heads in here check out the Action Bronson mixtape "Blue Chips"? Very solid production. He has a very Ghostface flow.
  6. I think I've mentioned it here before but Kerry and Obama are the only Dem candidates I have ever voted for President.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) Now I can't vote for Lugar. I realize you're joking here but it's sad that there are so many people out there from both ends of the spectrum that would seriously react this way.
  8. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:28 AM) Eddie Murphy in Tower Heist does classic Eddie Murphy. He's the best thing going in that movie, although I've also enjoyed watching Alan Alda transition into playing a great asshole as he's aged. Between this movie and The Aviator, he's come a long way from Hawkeye Pierce. I enjoyed Alda's character in Flirting With Disaster.

I'm actually not as annoyed with the case being dragged out this season.

    Recycling

This is one of many reasons I love it here in Seattle. Not only is recycling made extremely easy for everyone at home but it is made extremely easy anywhere you go. It is rare to go to a restaurant or place of business where at the very least there isn't a recycling bin. Most places also have compost bins as well.
  11. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 06:33 AM) By that rational, is there a number of kids/people that it's okay for the criminals to kill or hold captive in their own neighborhoods like prisoners before it becomes okay to say enough is enough? LOL. Come on now. You don't seem to be painting an accurate picture of Sanford Florida. The ends did not justify the means in this scenario. This wasn't mid 80s Cabrini Green with Zimmerman being a self appointed Batman to save the day.

    Recycling

We have 3 separate pickups. Recycling, compostables (which include yard waste) and trash.
  13. Whoops....I guess the swear filter didn't catch that.
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 26, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) We will mark your words, Dick I had to double check who you were replying to in case you were being an asshole.

Anyone else watch the Ricky Gervais Show? I watched the last one and was crying laughing. The whole bit about the movie with Tom Cruise was hilarious.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) Johnny Depp has played basically the same character for a decade or more now. I'm getting tired of all of the praise he gets. Amen. One of the most overrated actors of all time.
  17. Where's MarkBilliards when you need him? I get a good laugh whenever I see his avvy.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 06:49 AM) Mad Men is somehow getting better. Pretty awesome episode last night. The HoJo diner they went to even reminded me of the one in Pulp Fiction. I wonder if that was on purpose with all of the separate stories out of sequence.
  19. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 06:08 AM) Yes to this. For example, to avoid big crowds, going to Oak Brook is some of the best shopping/restaurants there is...traveling there without a car would simply take too long. That, and then you'd have to ride public transportation with a lot of dirty, germ infested strangers. I'd suggest you quit at this point. You're starting to sound like an old man with kids.
  20. A change in hitting coaches was so obvious for a few years now. It's too bad this stubborn management team didn't get it done sooner as we are seeing some positive dividends already.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) 32-22 on the West Coast from 2008 onwards. Used to be the House of Horrors, especially Oakland. Remember how much Buehrle always struggled there...fog games....all kinds of weird occurrenences. Yes. I'm glad to see things have turned around. And we own Seattle so it would be nice to come out here more than once a year.
  22. And let me add "damn the unbalanced schedule". That's it for the Sox here in 2012 unless both teams make the playoffs.
