    QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 10:28 AM) But I don't wanna read any possible spoilers for _____, so I should alter where people talk about it. If you aren't watching it live, tough s***. That's the risk you run. I'm watching The Wire right now. If people start discussing it, I'll skip it. Jerk
  4. Utterly ridiculous to be honest.

    QUOTE (onedude @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 08:50 AM) Imagine how I feel.....I'm almost done with season 2. Too many spoilers have sifted through my brain already Yeah. I hate this thread right now. I'm mid-way through Season 3.

  9. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 13, 2011 -> 11:06 AM) I agree with the vast majority of your post, except for the bold part. But man, that is more agreeing with you than I've done in years Ditto

    QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) I'm 2 hours 1-way on a good day. Between 2.5 and 3 on bad days. I think it's a pretty good reason. Fair enough

    QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) I hear there are a few areas in and around Oakland that are pretty "up and coming." I know everyone uses that phrase when they move into a dumpier part of town, but it might be an option if you find San Fran to be a bit too much to swallow financially at first. I've heard the same things.
  14. QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) One of the guys on my team nearly got us kicked out of the league last year when he was caught drinking a beer in the parking lot before a game. Your league sucks.

    QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 02:36 PM) My GF is close to getting a really good job in sf. I'm blanketing the area with resumes but don't have many contacts. What line of work are you looking to get into?

    QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) Luckily I don't have to worry about that anymore. Now I can just say I want a shorter commute. After rereading this I'm not sure that I'd even say that. It might come off as "this guy might leave us for something as trivial as shaving 15 minutes off his commute".

    QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 12:40 PM) I don't live there...but I went out there last October...what an awesome city....expensive, but so much culture and diversity and progressive thinking...it would absolutely be one of my top 5 cities to move to if the money was right. It's easily my favorite city in the continental 48.

    Job Hunt Thread

    QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 12:55 PM) I was never able to come up with a good way to say "I am horribly underpaid and I want more money" when they asked me why I wanted to leave my current job. There is no right way to use that excuse. You just have to come up with other reasons for wanting to move on.

    Job Hunt Thread

    QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 08:40 AM) I had a job interview yesterday. I thought it went well. Should know if I am getting an offer, or not, today. But I wanted to share a little advice I have learned. This whole experience has a been a really great learning experience. After each interview (I have had 5 so far), I feel more confident, less nervous, and better prepared. I have learned what to say, and when to not share too much (aka SHUTUP! lol) I have seen commonalities in questions that are asked, so each time I have better and better responses. My advice is to take every chance you have to interview for a position. I dont care if you dont think you would take the job, just do it. It's worth your time. For sure. With each interview you get more comfortable and can refine your answers.
