  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 20, 2011 -> 11:54 AM) Do people really believe Greg Walker re-tools everyone's swing once they become White Sox? I will admit if he does he shouldn't be the hitting coach. If he has the abiility to make successful people who make millions doing things their way unsuccessful by listening to him, he has a far more important calling than that of a hitting coach. I really think the problem is the basic fan has Little League playing experience and thinks a major league hitting coach teaches a professional making 20 times the cabbage he's making how to hit. So then his role is to do what? Nothing? Watch them hit and clap? This guy is useless and nothing bad could come out of a termination of his contract. Why the hell are people sticking up for a guy that has brought nothing to the table and has the longest tenure at his position in the AL Central? And if anyone believes his services would be a hot commodity if we let him go then pass me whatever it is you're smoking.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Yes. Always have. I totally get the point of the show but it's just not funny to me. Are there funny moments? Yes, but they are far outweighed by the abusred "wtf?" moments for me. For example, the constant drinking and smoking - I mean, really? What is that supposed to add? If it's supposed to be a dog viewed as a human by the main character, having the dog doing things that aren't even remotely possible for a dog, or any animal to do, is just ridiculous QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) My thoughts exactly. If we're supposed to believe that it's a dog that can be spoken to, and acts like a dog in some cases, why is it smoking a f***ing bong? These actually sound like reasons my grandfather would be opposed to watching the show. "I don't understand. Dogs do not talk or smoke." "This doesn't make sense." "What time is Becker on?"
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Imagine if something like this were to happen to Justin Verlander. Well we're under .500 on August 19th and suck at home. Our starting rotation is beginning to falter too, with or without Humber. Plus, we still have too many holes on offense.
  4. Anyone still think we win this division? Aside from Greg Hibbard?
  5. You guys and your scientific mumbo jumbo.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) What's weird is that even if the Sox don't feel Walker is to blame, the facts are that the offense is struggling and needs help. And even if Greg Walker was the greatest hitting coach of all-time, you would still have to say that whatever he's doing isn't working. And if you're truly serious about trying to win, wouldn't you want to do everything you could to try and give this offense a boost? I mean my god, you have your big free agent signing on his way to a historically bad season at the plate...isn't that enough to justify a change? Thank you. This stiff has the longest tenure in the AL Central as hitting coach and the product of his work has been sub-par. Dude needed to be shown the door a few years ago.
  7. In addition to the $2/gallon of gas claim, Bachmann apparently stated that if she becomes President there would no longer be 'czars' and she would not use teleprompters while in the White House. Gotta hand it to her. She is definitely addressing the major issues of today that affect all of us.
  8. QUOTE (Stocking @ Aug 19, 2011 -> 03:56 AM) Exit through the Gift Shop is Brilliant! Incredible, must watch. Indeed. I'm a big fan.

  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 08:38 AM) OK so, I am not usually one of the people who posts random quotes and statements from people, showing their verbal slip-ups or other stupid statements. But this one, I really feel like I have to.... Michelle Bachmann, having won the Ames Straw Poll, is having her moment to shine - this is her best chance to get into people's view. As such, she decided to make her first big attention-grabbing campaign promise. She says that is she is made President, she promises to deliver $2/gallon gas. I mean... it is difficult for me to describe how mind-numbingly stupid this is, for so, so many reasons. All these candidates make promises they can't meet. true for either party. But I think this one takes the cake for the most absurd, unbelieveable one. Couldn't she at least pick something attainable, and that she, you know, would have some control over? I think if I run, I am going to promise to end all tornadoes.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 18, 2011 -> 12:11 AM) Dunn got a hit and a walk tonight and no Ks. That's a pretty damn good night for him. Is he coming around? No
  17. QUOTE (Tex @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 06:45 AM) Where did you check? Please show me where it states that we cannot bring religion into the government. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) That's the liberal interpretation. Any connection with religion by any state official = unconstitutional. It's certainly ok for a conservative politician in office to do this. Unfortunately it would be unacceptable and an outrage for President Obama to call on Americans to join him at Meadowland stadium to pray to Allah.
  18. Always nice to land at an airport and see that we won a game. Looks like it was quite a ride. (Meant to post this last night)
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 04:01 PM) 227 aspirins?! I've never attempted suicide or looked up the specifics of it, but isn't that probably way overkill? Maybe he was a big fan of the sit-com 227.
  20. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Raiders of the Lost Ark is the only movie anyone has mentioned that I've seen. You must be 14.
  21. Hawk: "And there's another pitch that gets away. Runners on 2nd & 3rd, no outs."
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 03:31 PM) Yeah, now that quote I do see an equivalence with. Neither that quote nor Perry's was Presidential or appropriate. I'd have to agree.
