  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 10:49 PM) Should I get the DVD of Social Network? Just rent it. I don't know why people buy DVDs and Blurays.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 09:49 PM) That's Paulie's take. So good. Are you being sarcastic? Might be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Really? You think winning the division is out of the picture if your team doesn't play better than it already has? How profound.
  3. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 02:18 PM) [email protected] please (ummm not that I think you're not smart enough to figure it out, but just to cover all bases, that's my actual name, the one you know) Added
  4. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 06:58 PM) The only part of this post that is worth a damn is the minor league part. I never understood why they don't spend for top talent in the draft (ok well I do it's because JR and Bud Selig are close, so JR wouldn't think of going over slot so Bud can control player salaries in the draft when in the grand scheme of things it's not that much money /rant) but they have no problem throwing millions at Cubans and players from Japan (didn't they pay Iguchi without scouting him in person? I know it worked out but still). J4L apparently is forgetting the McCarthy for Danks fleecing. I think the "manager quit" crap is pure hyperbole, but I'm tiring of playing smallball crap. Plus, I'm not sure what makes JR "worthless" besides what I posted above. He spent the money. Didn't fans b**** for years about how he was cheap and whatnot. He put his dick out on the table to win NOW. What more do you want from him? To fire the management that is blowing away his money.
  5. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 06:59 PM) That makes no sense at all. It will never end and it's here to stay, so there's no point calling it stupid and fighting against it? Wow. I'm sure glad we take that attitude towards...oh, I don't know...communism? Just for starters. Political correctness is an idiotic idea designed to protect the emotionally weak. I'm not going to acquiesce to it simply because a lot of other people have. If you wound up having a gay son or a mentally handicapped daughter will your attitude be the same if you hear people saying "f*****!" or "retard!" in your presence?
  6. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 05:51 PM) Hahaha, wow. Leave him alone. I think he's 14 or something.
  7. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) Than it should have been called the 13 plan....but it wasn't. You can't sell one thing and deliver another. Just as McDonald's can't sell you a chicken sandwich and than give you a bun with a hamburger in the middle.....the White Sox can't sell you an Ozzie plan and than deliver Gene Lamont. Lol @ your insane premise.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) Thank you for the last sentence about Gardy. You proved my point how you can second guess any manager in any/every loss. I hate second guessing in victories. If you second guess a victory, to me it's just stupid. You're the kind of guy that would praise Ozzie in this scenario: Top of the 9th, 2 outs, at home against the Twins. We are up by 3 runs. Twins have the bases loaded with Cuddyer up. Ozzie brings in Ohman instead of Santos even though Santos hasn't pitched in 2 days. Cuddyer hits a double on the 1st pitch. 2 runs score...the guy at first makes it all the way home and is safe but is ultimately called out because he missed the 3rd base bag when rounding it. Sox get a lucky win because of a weird play. For some odd reason you think Ozzie made a great decision of bringing in Ohman over Santos because we somehow won in spite of the terrible managing.
  9. QUOTE (gatnom @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) CF has still been a black hole for us since 2006, though. Not arguing that. Rowand wasn't going to be the solution either as we've all seen his numbers in the past few years.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 02:25 AM) I don't bring up Rowand more often because of the eruption it causes. But it's obvious we have never replaced him and it was very bad for the team to lose him. You obviously haven't monitored his career since he left here. He sucks.
  11. LOL at Dunn continuing to bat in the 3 and 4 hole.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 09:49 AM) The 2011 Red Sox and Twins responded without changing managers. They also have good organizations that play fundamentally sound baseball.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 09:42 AM) I'd be happy if they launched Ozzie now, but the bigger picture is this team isn't going to make the playoffs either way. I just want Kenny gone at the end of the season, and the new GM should be able to pick his manager. The 2004 Astros responded after changing managers mid-season by making the playoffs.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 08:03 AM) @Buster_ESPN Buster Olney Lots of rumors swirling about managerial change with the White Sox, but high-ranking source says change with Ozzie not being considered. 10 hours ago via web Thanks for ruining my Sunday.
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 01:41 AM) Please fire him.
  16. No. Those were not the right calls. He has never been known as a good in-game manager and those odd moves didn't change that fact. Now go piss on a statue for questioning his tactics!
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 10:28 PM) Second guessing is fine. I despise it when we ... win. We won the game. His strategy worked. Many on this board want to crucify Ozzie for bunting in any inning. We won the game which means Ozzie has the last laugh on you Oz haters tonight. It's not second guessing when you're calling him out as it's happening. It's first guessing. Your genius manager is 8-15 against the central. Keep praising him.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 08:43 PM) Yes I can. The bunt is a no brainer there for regular teams. But you can't tell me without lying that you and others who HATE THE BUNT IN THE AL wouldn't have fried Ozzie's ass had Gordon failed. And Gordon likely would have failed. We can't bunt the f***ing ball. Also we won the game and I'm glad it was on a base hit. more exciting than a pop fly. Oh please. The Sox won in spite of Ozzie's awful managing, not because of it. Way too many head scratching decisions by that dufus today.
  19. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) I'm ecstatic that they won, as I always am when they win. Problem is that there's been not enough of that (winning) lately. I'm afraid that tomorrow they'll lose again and they'll have won 1 out of 4, at home. But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard to think positive. Love the Pulp Fiction reference.
  20. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 08:25 PM) Doesn't gay mean happy? Oh please. Don't play the naive card. Who are you Balki Bartokomous (sp?)?
  21. Wait, so him writing "Getz is gay" isn't an insult? Was that supposed to be a compliment to Getz?
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 08:19 PM) Obviously the bunt was the right call, but Beckham can't bunt like the rest of our team. Is that what Oz said in the postgame when asked about his decision to not bunt AJ to third? It was nice to see the Sox win a game on a hit rather than a balk or sac fly though. Just sayin. Gordon might be our best bunter.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 9, 2011 -> 05:47 PM) I believe it was because they were like 20 games under. But they still made it to the world series. So canning Ozzie doesn't mean we can't win the division this year.
  24. Didn't the 2005 Astros fire their manager mid-season?
