The walk off grand slam is still in play
-
Seems like a weird enough game where Chapman gives up a bunch of runs. One can hope.

Felt good getting complimented by a coworker earlier today for wearing my white on black early 80's style Sox cap. Surprised anyone cared about the Sox out here in the PNW but it turns out the guy is originally from Gary and a lifelong Sox fan. We wound up chatting about the Sox for a good 10 minutes and like me, he is rooting for Cleveland tonight.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Cubs 6-9 haven't done too much this series either (I know I know...Russell hit a slam yesterday). Edit: Actually, 6-9 and then leadoff hitter. I'm surprised more people don't talk about this. The Cubs have had 3 or 4 automatic outs in every game but everyone still acts as though they have 9 hitters in the mix for a batting title.

QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 12:19 PM) I know I am not the only one that has felt like the Cubs are destined to win this entire thing. We can look at the stats and what we think "should" happen all we want but if they are destined none of the stats even matter. I don't buy into that. "Cub Nation" all believed the 2003 team was destined to win it all.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 10:56 AM) I would just like the Indians to be up 7-0 in the 3rd. Then I will put on my Sox hat and go bar hopping in Old Town.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 10:28 AM) I just question whether the Cubs would become more popular or less popular if they won tonight. I think they are the only team that could possibly lose some interest after winning it all. I think there's something to that but more from a national perspective than local. It's nauseating to see bandwagon fans all over Seattle. And to Mark's (Lip Man 1) point a while back, Sox ownership was dead wrong in not treating the Cubs as a competitor way back when they took over our ball club. That has backfired miserably as we've literally become a small market franchise in one of the largest cities in the country.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 10:28 AM) True. I think whoever scores first will win. If either team is within a run in the first 4 or 5 innings I still think it's up for grabs. Depends on how soon the starter is replaced but using Chapman yesterday was a head-scratcher IMO.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 09:46 AM) For the love of God, please sit Chisenhall! I am flabbergasted that he has seen so much playing time. He's an awful defender and can't hit. What a great combination.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 08:27 AM) remember when greg told me I was dumb for making those bets on the indians the nights the indians won? francona is too good of a manager to lose 3 in a row. Greg guaranteed Cubs in 5. It's unfortunate he now lives under a viaduct after losing his life savings.

I know the Cubs have the better lineup but they literally have done nothing against him the 1st two times they faced him. 1 run in 12 innings. 15 Ks and 1 BB. Why should I think that changes?

For karma reasons, I'd love to see the woman beater come in and give up a walk off HR. So sick of people treating that POS like a god.

QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 06:26 AM) Lines have been released and the tribe are home underdogs with Kluber on the bump. They still can't get any respect from Vegas. My $ (not2.5Kthough is on the Cubs. The bottom looks like it is starting to fall out for Cleveland. It's obvious you're just finding any reason to post in here about how much you love the Cubs since you obviously know nothing about Vegas.

Can anyone explain why Chisenhall continues to get so much playing time in this series? He is terrible at everything.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 01:04 PM) Yes but the issue is freedom of speech. The kids couldnt put up their signs Unborn Lives Matter, but the two BLM individuals were allowed to stand on stage, blow a whistle and interrupt and ruin the speech of a guest speaker. I mean DePaul 'probably' could have forced those individuals off the stage. I mean if you were at a sporting event and walked onto the court and started blowing a whistle, I'm assuming you could be arrested. Same in wrecking somebody's speech? Would DePaul arrest the BLM individuals if they tried a sit in and blew a whistle over and over at a basketball game? It's kind of the same thing. It was an organized speaking event. They're not banning speech. They have issue with the choice of wording which can be construed as diminishing BLM. They even said they would be open to different wording in the posters. Seems like these folks are just intentionally instigating for media coverage.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) But let's get this back on track. This is just a horrible thing for the Sox to do to their fans. Now everyone can be happy. I don't understand how after your 5th or 6th attempt at downplaying this, and yes you have a good point, why you don't just let it go and let people be annoyed by it? You're obviously not going to change anyone's mind. *shrugs* -
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Nov 1, 2016 -> 07:40 AM) If that's the case charge them 20 bucks a drink. Isn't that already the going rate in Wrigleyville?

Heck, maybe we can get some sponsors like Dumpster Fire International, Anemia Society of America, and America's Funniest Bloopers. Shouldn't matter how they tie into the image of the ball club. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 31, 2016 -> 09:32 PM) What do you think of the kids at DePaul going on O'Reilly to talk about them being prevented from having signs on campus that say Unborn Lives Matter? Sounds like those people don't like the laws of our land. They can feel free to leave and go live somewhere like Saudi Arabia where abortion is outlawed.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Oct 31, 2016 -> 09:06 PM) shocking how out of touch they are. What do you expect from an ownership team that has deteriorated this franchise into a small market ball club, with all of their awful decisions over their tenure. -
I haven't watched on TV or listened on the radio but have the Cubs hitters broken a record for most strikeouts in a World Series?
-
Outside of game 2, have the Cubs led in any inning in this series?
-
It's amazing how little respect Cleveland is getting. They're 10-2 in the postseason and absolutely dominating while the Cubs are 8-5 and have been shut out 4 times. They must have a huge chip on their shoulder and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended it tonight.
-
Lot of pressure on the Cubs. They've averaging less than 2 runs per game in the series. Will they play loose or continue swinging at stuff outside the zone?
-
We should ignore the troll.
