  1. Pecry Harvin returned to practice today for Seattle.
  2. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jan 22, 2014 -> 06:36 AM) Loud black men are dumb and or scary. We want them smiling like Magic Johnson. What do I get for someone who bails when losing an avy bet?
  3. Sherman has all but guaranteed a lucrative post-NFL career in sportscasting.
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 02:22 PM) Meh, part of being smart is to not let your brilliance (whatever it may be) go to waste. Dude just deflected a ton of media attention from a 2nd year, young QB. Seems brilliant to me.
  5. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 02:09 PM) Nope, no one said that. I just graduated with a 3.5 GPA in college, but that doesn't prove I'm smart, it just says that I tried. But I still want someone to give me evidence that Sherman is not intelligent. I haven't seen anything to indicate that assessment.
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 02:08 PM) Maybe they turned them down, but how did Kyle Long make the pro bowl team over Josh Sitton or over a lot of other players? Because he had an awesome season.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 02:02 PM) Not if it's Conor Smith III whose family donated $500k, right? Yeah
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 01:56 PM) Maybe, but like I said, I'm not arguing against his intelligence. You posted that rich donors would get all the grade inflation, not any kids from Compton. Not only does the football program matter financially, but like Badger said it does a university no good if every poor kid from Compton gets a C average, they want them to succeed. They aren't just ignoring all those kids and only helping the rich ones. Giving obviously dumb students an A average seems highly unlikely. You can inflate by a half grade or so but giving D students an A seems like there would be some big time investigations.
  9. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 01:53 PM) I just said he CAME OFF LIKE AN IDIOT in all these TV outbursts I've seen. And he is a cocky asshole and I hate him. And I also said NOTHING about falsifying any grades in school. I said grades don't mean everything because it's often more about effort, and there have been many dumb people who get good grades and smart people who get bad grades. But no, it's easier for you to just say I hate black people I guess. I'm still waiting for your foolproof evidence that he is in fact a dumb person.
  10. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 01:46 PM) Yeah, I skimmed through that bulls*** last night. Deadspin LOVES trying to make every sports story about race. It's quite a skill they have. Then why can't it just be "I hate that dude. He's so damn cocky." It immediately goes to him being unintelligent with falsified grades in school.
  11. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 01:43 PM) Slow clap for responding and not trying to accuse someone of being racist. I'm curious how you'd respond to Muhammed Ali if he were in his prime right now.
  12. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 01:40 PM) For the love of god, stop trying to make this in to a race issue for f***'s sake. Jesus f***ing christ, people like you are annoying as f*** with that s***. He came off as not being intelligent BECAUSE HE f***ING LOOKED LIKE AN IDIOT. Whether or not he is actually smart is irrelevant because HE f***ING LOOKED LIKE AN IDIOT. Smart people can do dumb things. And in the event that he actually is smart, he is doing a terrible job at acting the part, because anyone objectively looking at his outbursts would severely question this guy's mental health and intelligence. You can shove that race card right back in your ass, thanks. Based on everything I've seen written by Richard Sherman and comparing it to the drivel you write in here, it's obvious who the one lacking in intelligence is.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 01:38 PM) Making the Rose Bowl earns the university more money than Conor Smith's family does, so he's more than just "some dude from Compton". I'm not even arguing against his intelligence, cause I really don't care, but don't act like nobody at Stanford had any interest in him succeeding academically. If he was such an awful student and couldn't make grades, wouldn't they just ensure he got his C average? Why bump it up to 3.7? If he's that dumb, it would look odd that his grades were outstanding.
  14. QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) Haven't the prestigious schools like the Ivies and Stanford had the biggest problems with grade inflation? The average GPA at Harvard is like a 3.7. That's probably for students like Conor Smith III, whose parents donated $500K to the school not some dude from Compton.
  15. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 12:44 PM) Call me crazy, but grades don't mean everything. You can be socially inept and come off like a gigantic idiot, even if you are really good at retaining information from your Anthropology classes. I know plenty of people who got terrible grades, but are actually really smart. And people who aren't every smart that got great grades. It's more about effort than intelligence. So yes, in the times I have seen Sherman on TV, my impression of him is that he is a big f***ing idiot who can't control his emotions and looks clinically insane. Translation: Cocky black people are not intelligent. Actual proof of good grades from a prestigious University be damned. Dude was the salutatorian in High School as well with a 4.2 GPA.
  16. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 11:50 AM) It was The Greatest Show on Turf. Good catch.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 11:40 AM) I wanted to go when the Packers were in the Super Bowl. I looked at prices and was like well that's not happening. Yeah I briefly considered it when Oakland made it against Tampa Bay but heck I was even poorer back then. EDIT: I did fly out to Oakland for the divisional game against the Jets. That was one for the ages.
  18. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 11:36 AM) Are you going to the game? Hell no. I'm poor.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) You know, I could argue this, but what's the point? The fact is neither team has seen anything like the other. It should be a good game. No doubt. As much as I'm talking up the Seahawks, I realize there's a very strong case for either team winning it.
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 09:53 AM) And I don't see anyone stopping the Broncos offense. Last I checked they didn't go undefeated. And for such a high powered offense, they sure didn't put up many more points in the playoffs games than the Seahawks did. Seahawks scored a total of 46 points against two top defenses. Broncos scored 50 against middle of the road defenses. Those handful of wounded ducks Peyton throws each game are much more likely to get picked by this pass D.
  21. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 09:46 AM) I don't think what the guy on the 49ers sideline was all that bad. Maybe it's the angle of the camera, but it looks like he doesn't get out of the way. That will happen on all most every sideline. No one is going to help you. I think the player on the Seahawks trips on the first down marker. If he did that to a Packer player we all know how up in arms you'd be.
  22. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 09:39 AM) I seriously hope Peyton just shreds them. I'm not seeing that scenario. Cold weather game, where Peyton has a career 36% winning percentage, against a defense this stout? Not gonna happen. Reminds me of "The Greatest Show on Earth" Rams and the high powered, out-of-this-world Raiders in 2003. Both of those offenses were completely stymied by ridiculous defenses and this defense is better than the two involved in those games. And after playing insane defenses the last 5 weeks or so and now facing a mediocre defense with key injuries will bode well for Seattle's offense. EDIT: And after a ridiculously awesome career, Peyton and/or his team has managed to fail at the end of the season every single year except once Remember, defense wins championships. I thought Bears fans lived by that mantra.
  23. This tool on the sideline should be getting more grief this week than Sherman.
  24. With some of the hatred being spewed at him you'd think he walked over to Crabtree, spit in his face, slapped his wife, and yelled out nothing but expletives in the interview while throwing gang signs. Dude was channeling a little Muhammed Ali, someone he's stated as admiring, showing a little bravado. I mean the amount of hatred going towards him is crazy. Reading comments on facebook and twitter about how he should be introduced to George Zimmerman and how he's just an uneducated n-word. GMAFB.
