  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 8, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) Raiders winning over the Colts...wow. That was short-lived.
  2. Just responding to the "I can do whatever I want at work so that means everyone else should too" vibe in here. Trying to make the case that a smart watch could be more useful to a lot of people even though that may not be the case for some individuals in this thread.
  3. So let's say you get a new job somewhere. Are you that comfortable in meetings that you'd keep pulling out your phone to check notifications and the time? It's a different story if you've been somewhere a while and you know everyone in the meetings.
  4. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) If these people are just going to kill each other for free why should we pay to do the same work for them? Using that line of thought, why even bother having a police force or laws anywhere. Just let people kill each other everywhere for whatever reason they want. Who gives a s*** as long as it doesn't personally affect you. You're very important.
  5. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 03:22 PM) Not to mention it's a watch with a single days battery life. Yeah as far as smart watches go, this Samsung one seems like a huge failure.

    QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 03:09 PM) You've never heard of Aziz Ansari? And he's from South Carolina.
  7. Not planning on getting a smart watch but I can see how they could potentially be useful. If they have a lot of fitness integrated apps I could see a market for that (i.e., heart rate monitors, etc.). And if you're already a watch wearer and work in a corporate environment it might be more useful to see new texts, emails, calendar notifications on your wrist rather then pulling your phone out of your pocket ever time it vibrates.
  8. It's things like this that make me love the Android ecosystem so much.
  9. 2 weeks since I bought the HTC One and absolutely loving it. What a kickass device. Rooted it to get rid of all the Verizon bloat and running the stock ROM for now (Apex launcher).

    QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 5, 2013 -> 05:54 AM) What on earth are you talking about? It was hilarious last night. Sunny - now Sunny is straight up brutal, but The League was great. If it wasn't for Rafi, I would have dropped The League last year. The show is just stale and tries way too hard.

    The League is almost unwatchable. Who writes for that show?

    QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 3, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) Natasha Leggero, who was one of the roasters, is from Rockford. I actually just learned that a few days ago. Before that I had never even heard of her. So I guess she would be #3 on the list of famous people from Rockford behind Cheap Trick and Michelle Williams. What about Shawn Ryan (The Shield, Terriers)?

    QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 3, 2013 -> 09:15 AM) Anyone watch the Roast of James Franco last night? I only caught the tail end but Jeff Ross was hilarious. He was great as was Samberg and Silverman.

    Started watching Top of the Lake. 2 episodes in and it's very good so far. Strong cast, amazing scenery/cinematography, and a good story.
  17. For $11 I'll take instantaneous over a $200 system that takes two minutes to start up a movie and isn't nearly as portable. I can't imagine the amount of power being consumed by the chromecast is even in the same ballpark as running a ps3 either. Might as well plug in a couple extra refrigerators while watching a video.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 31, 2013 -> 10:18 AM) Your Ps3 must have an awful internet connection. Videos take between 1 and 2 seconds to load for me, and updates take 5-10 minutes at the most. How long does it take from the moment you turn the power switch on your ps3 to the moment your netflix movie starts playing? I'd wager a year's salary that it's 20 times longer than starting a video via chromecast. The ps3 update just makes it worse. You'll never have to wait 5 or 10 minutes for the device to update before you can actually watch a video.
  19. With the 3 free months of Netflix it was definitely worth it for me. The load time is exponentially faster than using a ps3. And God forbid there's an update waiting for you when you turn on the ps3. That's like 5 hours before you can get to your Netflix movie.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 09:29 AM) You guys do know that in Android 4.2, all it takes to get to the camera is to unlock the phone and swipe to the left on the lockscreen, right? That Moto X double twist thing might work half the time and you risk flinging your phone. The camera thing is cool with Pressy, but for a lot of the other stuff, you can just use Tasker. I'm required to use a pin to unlock my phone because of work. No option for the customized lock screen with shortcuts.
  21. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 08:33 AM) It's not about you posting about Ozzie, it's about you ignoring every single piece of information that doesn't support what you already think. It just gets old, and frustration is bound to bubble over every now and then because people try to explain stuff to you a million ways, but you never change your mind even though you never present anything to defend your point. It's fine to disagree, but not when you can't make any sort of argument for your point of view. It's like if someone kept saying the Earth was flat in every thread, no matter how many times people pointed him toward information proving the Earth was round. Occasionally someone is going to be having a rough day and be tired of hearing it and just blow up about it. ^this...and most boards would classify that as trolling
  22. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 30, 2013 -> 09:14 AM) You are too f***ing obsessed with smartphones. Hey now.
  23. Just pledged to the Pressy kickstarter. Pretty neat little invention. Makes my decision to get the HTC One over the Moto X more tolerable as I really liked the double twist camera trick on the X. This seems even easier and I won't risk flinging my phone across the room. LINK (It's worth checking out the video)
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) Is it? I haven't really noticed that. The HD looked the same to me as netflix through my samsung TV or ps3. I thought I read that Chromecast is one of the few ways to get Netflix in 1080p.
