  1. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Feb 10, 2013 -> 06:05 AM) Too big. Too heavy. Used one in best buy, absurd for a phone, fine for a tablet. Obviously there is a market for these sizes, I'm simply not in it. I think there's a paradigm shift going on where these things are no longer phones. They're personal assistants which are capable of making phone calls. Let's face it. A great deal of people, perhaps a majority, are using these devices less for actual phone calls and more for other reasons. So yes, in the old way of thinking of things...this is a large phone but it's a nice size for a device that makes your life easier...oh and if you really want to, you can use it to make a phone call.
  2. More reason for me to be infatuated with the Xperia Z:
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 03:06 PM) Is he still trapped in the Ecuadorian embassy? I honestly have no clue.
  4. Julian Assange on Bill Maher tonight.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 02:33 PM) Pros/Cons of jailbreaking? I don't know much about it other than people telling me it jeopardized my warranty. Sorry I had to.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 07:44 AM) This statement implies that it was good last week. It was. You must have turned it off after 15 minutes because it took me until about halfway through the episode before I was feeling it.
  7. The site everyblock.com shut down out of the blue. I checked it on a daily basis.
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 7, 2013 -> 07:03 AM) I wish this device were available for Sprint. I've been on Sprint since the late 90s. I'm going off contract in June when my current one expires.
  9. QUOTE (God Loves The Infantry @ Feb 6, 2013 -> 11:25 PM) I don't believe God made anyone gay. Feel free to point to any study showing otherwise. I don't believe god exists. Feel free to point to any study showing otherwise.
  10. Hey Y2HH, where's Apple Maps? You spent so much time defending it a while back.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 6, 2013 -> 02:16 PM) A lot of the TouchWiz "enhancements" were kinda gimmicky. Some might be useful, but others were kinda just there for the "cool, my phone can do this?" factor as opposed to something you will use everyday. I'm be anxiously waiting to see what Samsung can bring to the table, but I doubt it'll be anything ground-breaking. That's why I'm excited about the Xperia Z. They've decided to go with a near stock Android experience. Touchwiz and all of the other UIs are garbage IMO. (see also: epic rant above my post)
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 6, 2013 -> 11:30 AM) When you say the Bible is fact do you mean Old Testament and New Testament, or just New? Only the parts that align with someone's personal core values. The rest is all irrelevant.
  13. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Feb 6, 2013 -> 11:19 AM) How is being something God made you a sin and how is one forgiven for it considering it’s not something one can change? *points to some vague metaphor in the bible which addresses your concerns*
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 06:17 PM) REI chief Sally Jewell in the mix for Interior Secretary Would be a sad departure if she left our co-op but she'd be awesome for the job. Looks like it's a done deal. She'll definitely be missed at REI as she was HIGHLY respected.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Feb 4, 2013 -> 03:19 PM) Got my Nexus 4 today. Pictures and videos don't do this phone justice. You gotta see the glass backing for yourself, it looks f***ing awesome. Your response to my drooling over the same feature on the sexy Sony Xperia Z:

  17. QUOTE (qwerty @ Feb 4, 2013 -> 08:16 AM) You should be in for a treat with Don Jon's Addiction. Don Jon's Addiction is Joseph Gordon Levitt's directorial and writing debut in a full feature length film. Similar, but oh so very different at the same time. Great accomplishment for a first time film, even though I really had little doubt in his abilities outside of acting. The man will win an Oscar at some point I have a firm belief that he will win an Oscar in the next five years or so, give or take a year either way. Levitt is currently having every huge script in Hollywood sent his way. In my opinion he is bound to run into the proper script sooner rather than later to propel his ability to an even higher level... and at the very least I think he will warrant some nominations. Triple threats are extremely scare, so he has as good of a shot, if not better than any out there. Levitt just may even end up directing himself to an acting nomination someday, he is that good. Anyone else enjoy his work? Anyone think he sucks blows? Why on both accounts? Thanks for the tip. I think he's quite a versatile young star and look forward to checking this out and pretty much anything he's in.
  18. Watched 'Shame' with Michael Fassbender last night. Interesting to say the least.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 4, 2013 -> 03:39 AM) "The Impossible" was very good. Despite knowing the ending and being cold hearted, couldn't help get goosebumps and emotional at a few scenes. The scene where the dad broke down on the cell phone was tough to watch.
  20. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Feb 3, 2013 -> 10:21 AM) Don't we have someone here that works for REI? Squirt? I ask because I just had the worst customer service experience (no exaggeration) in my life at my local REI store and I'm stunned. The dude was being a smug asshole and lectured me on why I shouldn't be returning an item that I bought. He wasn't going to do it at first, but said this time he would. He said that they "don't do returns" unless the product is damaged in some way. He also told me REI wasn't a rental store for people to try stuff out and bring it back. Considering all the tags were on the pullover I was returning, I have no idea what the hell he was talking about. Like, yeah dude, I was definitely wearing this around town with all the tags still on it. Anyway, if this is how their customer service people are taught to act, then I'm never shopping there again. And I love REI so it will sadden me to do that. I've spent lots of money there in my life, but never had to return something until now. You'd think they'd treat their long time customers better (not that he had any way of knowing that, except for I guess my membership # was on the receipt). Yeah I work for them and based on your story, he is clearly in the wrong. I'd say you either caught a bad apple or someone having a bad day. Our return policy is incredibly liberal and you shouldn't have any issues when you have the tags on your item. I'd contact the store manager.
