How many long term independent studies, 20 years plus, have been made specifically on the effects of GMO foods in humans?
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 06:42 AM) (can we make this a healthcare catch-all thread?) Regarding the labeling of GMO foods, the state of Washington has enough signatures to propose a legislative initiative. Seeing that marijuana and gay marriage passed, I feel good about this one passing too. I love this state.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 1, 2013 -> 07:01 AM) Sad to see 30 Rock go. One of the more underappreciated comedies in recent memory. It had fantastic and intelligent writing, a great cast and won several awards but never seemed to really take off in terms of popularity. Didn't think it was the best finale possible, but I'll remember it as being one of the favorite sitcoms of the recent past Underappreciated? Didn't it continually get nominated for golden globes and SAG awards and get pretty good viewership?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 05:10 PM) Have to agree, with the head start ios, android and to an extent, even windows mobile 7/8, there just isn't enough incentive here, especially considering the total lack of apps. I don't buy that. 70K at launch should keep 95% of users happy. I'd guess an average person has 30-50 apps on their phone. So instead of 125 fart apps, they may only have 25 to choose from? Big deal. As long as they have the major apps they'll be fine for now.

REI chief Sally Jewell in the mix for Interior Secretary Would be a sad departure if she left our co-op but she'd be awesome for the job.

I hope Anquon Boldin comes out of the closet Sunday morning and burns Chris Culliver for six TDs.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 06:40 AM) World War Z was much better as an audiobook--it was told in an oral history style with a full cast of voice actors. Hmm. That sounds interesting. Maybe I'll give it an another try this way.

Of the ones you've listed I only watched The Munsters with any regularity. And that was at least 25 years ago.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 30, 2013 -> 08:16 PM) Ok, watching the beginning of The Americans...highly stylized musical action...but what f***ing 1980's is this taking place in? The hair, clothes...everything is just...wrong, hell, it's not even close. If you don't want to make something in the 80's, then don't. The acting and story seems ok but the 1980's setting is a joke at best. No girl, woman or otherwise had anything close to Russle's hair style back then. Not to mention the clothes or anything else. Nobody that lived in the 80's seems to be in charge of this show. Agreed although I did enjoy the episode.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 29, 2013 -> 01:48 PM) How can I be wrong about my own opinion? You are arguing that sausage pizza is better than pepperoni pizza. Please explain why I am not entitled to my ignorant uneducated opinion. Right or wrong, its my opinion, and I dont see why you are getting in such a hissy fit about a joke comment. Im just here to promote Dr Who, which is the superior British tv show. Why I outta! *shakes fist at screen*
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 29, 2013 -> 01:38 PM) Maybe you are not familiar with Dr Who, but I never said "The entire show" I said "AN EPISODE SET IN VICTORIAN ENGLAND" Now why did I say that? Is it because there are episodes of Dr Who set in Victorian England. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tooth_and_Claw_%28Doctor_Who%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Unquiet_Dead So maybe if you made the comment that "The episode of BB where they were in Westeros reminds me of GOT" you would have some sort of comparison. Once again, Dr Who actually has episodes that are set in Victorian England. And Knight Rider and General Hospital are both set in California. But I know, you are always right no matter how ignorant of a statement you make. And of course you always need to have the last say so I'll await your dissertation on why you are right and everyone else is always wrong.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 29, 2013 -> 01:16 PM) I do happen to know that Dr Who and Downton are considered 2 of the best British shows. I have never seen Game of Thrones but I assume it is a weak version of Breaking Bad. These are considered 2 of the best American dramas.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 29, 2013 -> 11:26 AM) Ive never seen Downtin, but I assume the quality of ladies was better on OC. Whenever I think of Downtin, I just think of a Dr Who episode set in Victorian England. But then I think without Dr Who, what is the point. Not sure why you would compare it to Dr Who. There are zero similarities between those two shows. It would be like comparing Knight Rider to General Hospital.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 29, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) It looks bad, but it also looks like one of those movies that if you're in the right mood it could be hilarious. I'm guessing Roeper just didn't get "it," but perhaps it is truly that bad. Although I must say, using "Howard the Duck" as an example of a terrible movie he wishes to forget severely hurts my 8-10 year old self's feelings. That movie rocked back in the day. Apparently there were a hack of a lot of people in the wrong mood to see it. Is this the worst rated movie of all time on RT? http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/movie_43/

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jan 29, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) Hell yes. Should have seen it comin,' but I didn't. The wife and I were both startled. The show is pretty decent so far. I'll keep watching.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jan 29, 2013 -> 07:15 AM) There was a moment in last night's "The Following" that made my heart skip a beat and nearly loosened my colon. If I remembered how to use spoiler tags I'd describe and then hide it, but if you saw the episode I'm sure you can guess.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 05:53 PM) Paul Giammatti in talks to play Rhino in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Is Rhino incredibly whiny in the comics?

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 05:02 PM) Been at this for more than 30 years, if you ever have any questions let me know! Will do but it seems like 95% of the folks I work with have just as much experience.

I'm pretty new to camping. Started last year after moving to Seattle. So far the family and I have car camped at Rainier, Mt Baker and the Olympic Peninsula. My team at work is trying to coordinate a backpacking trip in the Cascades this spring.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 26, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) It was 10x better than Episode 2. The 3 of them blend into a blob of fecal matter. I can't distinguish any of them apart after all these years.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 26, 2013 -> 03:24 PM) Episode 3 was not ok for small ones. It's actually not ok for anyone to watch. It might be the worst movie ever made.
