Other middle relief/set-up options out there

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 02:59 PM) Carrasco has a little over 3 years of service so we control him for 3 more years, he's arbitration eligible in 2009. I hope he's not an option regardless of how long we control him. -

QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 08:54 AM) He is a f***ing stud in the making, just needs to cut down on his TO which he leads the team with 2.50 a game. 2.50 is amazing for a rookie playing nearly 40 minutes a game and handling the ball as much as he does. The great Dwyane Wade has average nearly 4 or more his entire career. -

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 09:45 AM) Right now does Rose, Mayo or Fernandez win ROY? Rose and it's not even close. Mayo has been scoring, as has Fernandez, but Rose has been no slouch in scoring either while leading an offense and amassing a decent amount of assists. -

QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 09:15 AM) I mean, c'mon. You mean to tell me he has never noticed the little "T" column on the right side of the "W" and "L" columns? What an idiot. A true winner is also a student of the game. He should know everything inside and out. That's what I was thinking. If I knew there were ties in the NFL (how could I not, I've seen them happen before), how could that idiot not know? -

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 15, 2008 -> 06:02 PM) Im a little surprised to see Dye having slightly better career numbers than Konerko.. I wouldnt have even guessed that until I saw this Well, those are counting numbers, and Dye has played almost 100 games more than Pauly. -
I think Bobby SHOULD be traded this offseason. It'd be the smartest thing Kenny Williams could do.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 01:47 AM) Sounds like you are more of a Jenks fan than a White Sox fan. If they deal him , get over it. He's not Tim Lincecum or Albert Pujols. He's a closer. I don't get why everyone's so crazy about closers. Billy Beane trades his closer every other year for decent return. It's smart practice.

QUOTE (MAX @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 04:17 PM) I find it annoying when someone refers to a grown person as a kid. It screams ego, as if to say, "I am more experienced than this kid. I've been through it all before" when really no one really knows anything about life. We are all the same amount of clueless. Go ahead and tell me exactly: How did the universe begin and why? Who created it? What happens after we die? Is there a heaven and what is it like if there is? What is it like to be free from aversion and desire? What does one base their actions on having attained enlightenment? Then you can start calling other people "kid". Then again, if you were that wise, you wouldn't. Easy, killer.

Hmmm, a few years ago Pujols complained that someone won the award over him despite their team missing the playoffs. I wonder if his opinion's changed now.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 12:05 PM) http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metrop...an/6115223.html This is an outrage. This should be very quick and effective. Commit a violent crime and adios. I'd also like to deport all native born citizens that are convicted, but that would be impracticable. Agreed, I have no idea why they didn't deport these characters.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 10:42 AM) I think my favorite episode of all time is when Mac sleeps with Dennis' mom. I love the scene where Dennis tries to hook up with Mac's mom. The one where Charlie steals Franks money while Dennis and D get hooked on crack is pretty funny.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:20 AM) Otherwise you'd have teams down the bottom "tanking", so they end up with the #1 pick. It's funny when they do tank, like Miami last year, and don't get the guy they wanted (Rose). -

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:29 AM) You are clearly the better man. Be quiet, you're from Missouri. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 10:42 AM) If he's offered $6-8 million a year for 2 or 3 years, he may jump at the arb offer believing the market and economic conditions could be better next year. He is definitely in the group of guys who are going to get squeezed this off season. The top 4 or 5 guys won't be affected. If they don't offer him arb we know they really didn't like him very much. They'll offer him arbitration. KW has been open about the "value" of Cabrera even if he doesn't re-sign.

QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 11:15 AM) Personally, I understand the security aspects, and the fear of anything and everything becoming public, but it seems like there should be a middle ground here that would allow the President of the US to use some tools. No computer on his desk? That's crazy. No computer, no cell phone, no crackberry? What's left to do? Hey Monica, whatcha doing . . . Agreed.

QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 10:37 AM) How can you say probably? Odds are they don't. Yeah, the lottery has proven that odds can be a bit whacky. They'll definitely have a high percentage chance though. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) I could be wrong, but I think if you offer someone arb and they accept, you can't trade them for a while. I don't know if many teams want Cabrera at $11 -$12 million anyway. You're right, but he won't take arbitration when he can easily sign a multi-year deal elsewhere. His ego is too high to admit he's not worth a multi-year deal. At 34 (right?), this is probably his last chance at a multi-year deal anyway.
-
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 10:25 AM) You realistically can't look at the deal until the end of next season to see; 1 - How Swisher does with Yankees 2 - How the prospects the Sox acquired have done 3 - How the Sox have used the money that they have saved by dumping Swisher's 22/3 contract. Like almost any trade, the winner cannot be decided immediately.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 10:33 AM) just saw this on sports center too....any minute chance he had of buying the cubs just went out the door....even if innocent..no chance baseball owners let him in their elite club now Yeah, I don't think he had a chance in the first place, but this isn't good for him. -
QUOTE (Texsox @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 07:15 AM) I spent mine in Mexico. Well that didn't help anything.
