Two weekish goals by Ovechkin on Bulin. Yech. 0-2 and can't get home fast enough. -

Skille's tempo is ridiculous. If he plays like this all year, watch out. NOTE: The Hawks are still a bad faceoff team. This is going to hurt us this year. -

The puck is bouncing all over the damn place tonight. They need to get that s*** under control in Washington. -

Well, I guess Bulin is starting. Brilliant. He's actually been pretty good thus far, though he's gotta cover the 5-hole on that Ovechkin skipper. Hawks need to get out of this period tied and they'll be alright. -
QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 11:23 AM) I had DVR'd all the episodes up to this point but never watched them and just yesterday had to delete them for space. It's On Demand in HD (though only episodes 3-6), the scenes will get you caught up. On Demand > HD On Demand > TV Series > Sons of Anarchy

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 11:54 AM) Turnovers is just a lucky stat. I'm not going to be in this league, but that statement couldn't be more incorrect. -
QUOTE (juddling @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 07:52 PM) From the Sons of Anarchy....i love watching people get hit in the face with a skateboard!! Yeah, that show is amazing. I really hope people start watching, because I love it.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 06:23 AM) I hope it was opening night jitters, but I expect to see Khabibulin in goal tonight. There's no way Huet doesn't start against his former team. -

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) That was more like the Steve9347 invitation only draft than the official Soxtalk league. Yeah, there's really no other league worth anyone's time. This is THE fantasy basketball league. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) Hate on Crosby all you want, but he's one hell of a hockey player, and gets targeted and cheap shot-ed by everyone. He's the man. Oh, there's no question he's the most offensively gifted player this league has seen since Gretzky (think how he'd score if the rules and ice size were the same as in the 80s), but, not being a Penguins fan, the less he scores, the better. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 04:23 PM) He'll find some other 20 year old that will sleep with him in exchange for a Playboy cover. Bridget is the best, anyway. More like snuggle. It's well documented that ol' Hef can't get it up anymore.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 02:39 PM) two ways to win this girl...one short term, one long....both follow the same course of action, but the end point depends on her Invite her and her friends to your college....get copious amounts of booze for you, your friends, her and her friends...drink, heavily. Be obnoxious, hit on her, hit on her friends, but don't be buddy-buddy emotional....basically be a huge asshole. she will either A.) love it, and shes yours (though not long term cuz if she loves it shes probably a ho) or b.) she will hate it (good in long run). if she hates it, keep acting like that all throughout your first two years of college. Drunk dial her. talk about girls you hook up, talk about her hot friends. She'll wonder, "what happened to sonik, he used to be such a nice guy", but she'll still always talk to you because you are good friends. And besides, college is fun, and that is how it is supposed to be. Then toward the end of college (hopefully you've been studying your balls off the whole time too) get into a great graduate program (medical or law or business or something) or get some job where you start pulling in some green. Start wearing nice clothing and drinking only johnnie walker, treat her well. Ask about her and her family, take a genuine interest. Be the nicest guy possible. She'll think "my god has he changed, i just love a mature man." She'll love how much you have changed (but still realize you know how to have a good time) and at first will resist her temptations to hook back up with you, but it won't last long. You're an now an irresistible, responsible handsome young man that every female college graduate dreams of sleeping with. Hook, line and sinker...now you've got her...from here, go on get married, cheat on her as often as possible while remaining together in a happy marriage, and poof, you've just lived the true American Dream Post of the Year.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) there's a reason I called it drastic. The real point of this thread, not made clear by my (my fault), is to talk about solutions. The trusted appointed people in the government know better than I. Thankfully, my company sells a product that helps companies in these times as they downsize, but I don't think anyone feels comfortable out there...

You can't shut down the markets for an extended period.

Hope they stab him quite a few times trying to find a vein.

My advice would have been to marry Holly and knock her up. Past that, he's just stupid.

We're all f***ed. It's just a matter of time before we wind up laid off...

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) I saw the first episode and it was atrocious. I did not laugh at all. And the space olympics thing was lame. At one point one of the fake news anchors says something to the effect of "that's all you could come up with while we were off this summer?" to someone else's character, and that's basically how I felt about the entire show. Made me not wanna watch it again. But that marky mark bit wasn't so bad. Decent impersonation. And the palin impersonations have been good (Random: I tried to watch baby mama with tina fey last night and it's terrible.) All my humble opinion, of course... You know what, it's been so good the last 3 weeks, I forgot about the season debut. It was bad (aside from Space Olympics, imo). I apologize for omitting that episode, you are right it was terrible. I believe at some point earlier in the Fall Television Season thread I did bring up that the Michael Phelps episode largely sucked, but that's because he's not an actor. Since then it's been quite good.

Resolving Issues You Don't Agree With Your Candidate
Steve9347 replied to Texsox's topic in The Filibuster
The only thing I'm annoyed with is EVERYONE's stance against gay marriage. Seriously, at least allow civil unions. This goes for Obama because he too is not for this... I'm obviously not gay, but I feel that homosexuals should be able to choose whatever partner they want, and if they want to make the vows, should be able to get married. It's the f***ing 21st century for Christ's sake. -
QUOTE (Soxy @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 02:08 PM) But his bridesmaid dress was better than Korto's I thought. It was a pure bulls*** challenge, designed to save Kenley's skin. Although Jerrell did have some execution issues throughout the season--but he was the most fashion forward, conceptually interesting of the designers. I'm just mad Kenley didn't get kicked off last week. That. If Jerrell had listened to TG and taken care of the bust line issues, and just used white toole instead of the ugly gray, he's in the finale. Why do people continue to ignore TG's suggestions?

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 01:51 PM) I told my wife about giving this thread the gay, she said "tell them based on the wedding gowns they did last night he was the right one to go home." That's BS and she knows it. Korto's was even more of a trainwreck. Whatever. Haha.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 9, 2008 -> 01:37 PM) Anyone else feel "Holla atcha boy" was such a gimmicky ploy to be "fierce" or the catch phrase of the season, too? Damn that pissed me off. Dude was such a Christian wannabe, at least he didn't last that long. Yeah his "....licious" crap was annoying. I laughed when he went home. Same with Mr. 3rd person Suede. Alright, enough of this in "The Democrat Thread", the Republicans who lurk will freak out.
