QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 03:31 PM) yeah no kidding....actually all those commercials are terrible...not sure if its brooks boyer who has input or at least oversees those commercials but if it is he's done just an awful, awful job If there's anything you'd use to describe Brooks Boyer, it shouldn't be "he's done an awful job." -

2008 General Election Discussion Thread

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 02:42 PM) I don't think anybody is going to argue that polls are not nearly as important as people think, ESPECIALLY in a race where a national poll means nothing because it comes down to what happens in individual states, and not overall national popular vote. But polls themselves are often inaccurate. For instance, didn't all the exit polls have Kerry winning the election in 2004 even on election day itself? Some polls aren't important. However, THIS one is... -
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 02:07 PM) what policies? This elections isnt about issues, remember? Exactly. Sarah Palin has nice glasses so people want to vote for her.

It's too bad a publicity stunt like Sarah Palin works in this country.

Guillen not planning w/ a CQ return in mind
Steve9347 replied to Princess Dye's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You can't plan. If he comes back, that's amazing, but right now, the team has to know they have to pick it up without him. Here's a question, what are the rules with playoff eligibility? CQ wouldn't get blocked I presume. -

Sweet. I actually got sold by marketing for once and ran to NFL.com when I saw there was a promotion for tonight only. It's 20% off customized stuff. The customization is really cool, you can choose your shirt color, main logo and add stuff to the sleeves as well. I got myself a navy blue shirt with the orange C centered on the front and OLSEN 82 on the back, as well as an 82 on the left sleeve. Can't wait for that f***in' thing to arrive. And yes, I probably should have gone with Forte, but you know everyone and their f***ing mother is ordering a Forte at this very moment. Olsen needs some love, and Orton's going to use him lots this season. -

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 04:10 PM) According to CNBC, it is estimated $150 million of fantasy prize money that would have been won, will be lost by owners who drafted Tom Brady. That's hilarious. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 11:19 AM) The emperor has no clothes Unfortunately mindless Americans don't care. I really fear that she'll be our next VP.

BREAKING NEWS FROM THE SCORE Jesse Rogers says wrist injury is severe and there is a fracture possibility. He's more than likely out for the rest of the regular season.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 11:44 AM) Cowley's now hearing nothing about it, which is not good news for us. Maybe that person on Reifert's blog was correct all along, and CQ's out 4 weeks with a fracture. Exactly. If it were good news, the Sox would have damn sure had it out immediately. Bad news takes a little longer to spin.

This whole thing is a farce and a huge reason that I hate politics sometimes. My favorite part of Palin's "speech" (aside from the blatant lies, the making fun of people like she's a child, and all that) was her taking a long time to introduce her son who conveniently joins the forces on 9/11, and her other child, who conveniently means votes from those with special needs interests, and her husband, who conveniently reminds us all of our friends, but she completely dissed and ignored her pregnant teenage daughter. Palin should be ashamed of the hate-filled speech she gave. How is her comparing Obama to Christ NOT being ripped apart? Why does she get a free pass? BECAUSE SHE'S A HOCKEY MOM AND DOESN'T BELONG HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE?
