  1. A lot of it is the difficulty of the programs they are running. The Chinese are running events of 8.200 difficulty while the Americans' are all around 6.200. That starts you off with a 2 point advantage.
  2. Cash is all it would have taken... Jeez, we should have nabbed him.
  3. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) lol@Pods making it. He's one of the most disrespcted and hated on players in the history of Soxtalk. Not by me. He hit one of the biggest homers in club history and was a key factor to our World Series.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 04:11 PM) What part was that? I recall a similar thing happening when I went.
  5. They did just get Rocco Baldelli back, we'll see how he does.
  6. You can't argue with his comic value, I just wish he'd play to his career averages.

QUOTE (Yoda @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 03:29 PM) So I'm guessing Pineapple Express is a must see if you want to piss your pants from laughter? It is... and both gender's will love it too. My wife went laugh crazy for like 3 minutes during the movie, she couldn't stop, because a part she thought was hilarious happened, and right as she calmed down, a part that made me go apes*** in turn made her go laugh crazy all over again. It's entirely enjoyable. People trying to take this film too seriously will lose out.
  8. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) What's the cheapest price I could possibly get on a Nintendo Wii here ATM? Free if you order the Comcast Triple Play. I seriously considered a craig's list ad to swap my 360 for a wii just because my wife would get involved. However, I then got greedy and thought of Madden (pre-ordered yesterday) and NBA 2k9...
  9. Getting involved against the Russians would be exactly what the Russians would want us to do.
  10. German has some nasty stuff, I think he'll go straight to the bullpen.
  11. What we have here is Russia, having rebuilt it's economy after becoming insignificant for quite a period of time, is putting itself back on the map. They are targeting the oil pipeline to gain power in the world. Now, it either ends there, and they get some oil money, or they slowly try to grow their territory, start putting nukes in Cuba, and we all feel like the Cold War is back and better than ever. I just feel like these actions are the gateway to a scarier Russia. A Russia that used to be feared, big time.
  12. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) Man, you just can't give your BDS a rest for one f***ing post, can you? Look at the light hearted way the picture is posted and maybe make a funny post, not a partisan post. What the hell are you going to do if Obama loses? You will be un f***ing bearable. Dude, come on, that's f***ing hilarious.
  13. QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 11, 2008 -> 07:13 AM) Not implying that at all, I certainly do not speed 80% of the time. In Texas we drive friendly, and when a quicker car comes up behind, we'll move over and allow the person to pass, even on two lane roads. Our shoulders are extra wide to accomodate that. So I doubt that 80% of the drivers are speeding here. Bulls***. I was just in Texas a month ago and you f***s drive as crazy as anyone in Illinois.
  14. QUOTE (Texsox @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 10:24 PM) They are taking time stamped photos that show the driver, license plate, and vehicle. If you loaned your car to someone, it will be their picture. A friend of mine got such a ticket when his buddy borrowed his car, and guess what? When you get one of these f***ed tickets, it says regardless of who is operating said vehicle, you're still responsible for the fine. They can do this because these photo tix don't go through as "moving violations" hence they don't effect your driving record for insurance and 3 strikes. It's a ridiculous way to raise money, but it will work, so it won't be going away anytime soon.
  15. I think we're all ignoring what started this conversation. The 10-mile stretches of photo-enforced 45-mph because they are "work zones" where no one does any work, cause more harm than good. They need to add "when workers are present" or something to the rulebook (much like children/schools). Slowing to 45, then speeding back up (change in speeds) = more gas consumption than maintaining a much more sane speed limit such as 65 mph.
  16. Dude, how does this help us from August to October of this season?
  17. That relay against the French was the moment of the Olympics. How the American caught him on the final leg was incredible. I can't wait for more Olympics tonight.
  18. Kopitar answers what we need. Seabrook figures to be an offensive D-Man who just isn't that offensive yet. If we had to move one, I'd move him before Keith. Also, I think the Blackhawks believe that Barker will take the next step and make up for what is lost from losing Seabs. We'll see though. Kopitar in, Khabibulin out, and all it costs is Seabrook = steal if you ask me. Our offense would be deadly. However, I think this is old news being re-hashed to start things, so I won't get too excited until it's official.
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 12:04 AM) He's a guy who frustrates the hell out of me....yet I'll love him forever. That. Although, at 3B, he frustrates me less.
  20. I enjoyed the homeruns, but not the ballplayer.
  21. Wow, I just noticed this. Horacio Ramirez had a nice run with ATL a few years back, and has some decent talent. A nice for nothing pickup.
  22. QUOTE (Steff @ Aug 9, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) I thought I read somewhere that Robin will not be part of the movie franchise again. I would assume that'd be the case. You can't really rock Robin out there and have the look of the films stay dark... even though the story of the death of the second robin (Jason Todd, I think?) was rather dark, it'd take awhile to get there. The franchise doesn't need to go that route, nor to Lebanon. That was a cool ass comic though, it was called "A Death in the Family".
  23. How unfortunate. He was a very good man, a fun comedian, and really enjoyed life. He'll be missed.
