QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) Holy injuries batman. Somehow we are 30-21 on the season despite injuries to Abreu (4 weeks), Samardzija (7 weeks), Quintana (2 weeks), Eaton (6 weeks), Jennings (14 months), Bonafacio (33 months....uh...ok), Micah Johnson, Noesi, Axelrod, and I also had a 9 game suspension from John Danks for fighting Miggy. lol. After Shark and Q were both injured at the same time, I finally gave in and called up Rodon, who in 85 innings between AA and AAA, had 115 K and a 4 WAR in only 11 starts. He's making his debut right now. Oh, and draft day came around. I had the 12th pick and took Daz Cameron, although he wants 3x his slot money. So I took a bunch of college players and they all signed for underslot, so hopefully I can bring Daz in, even though he's listed as an "extremely hard" sign. Jeff Samardzija has lost some endurance... Jeff Samardzija has lost some control... Jeff Smaardzija has lost some stuff... Jeff Samardzija has lost some movement... OOTP 6 gamers will get it. My how I hated the drops.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 03:37 PM) After reading this thread I kind of am reminiscing about the old ootp days. I have become so much more productive in life since quitting my OOTP leagues.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 02:06 PM) Seriously NW Indiana is great. I get all of the cheap of Indiana, and all of the great of living close to Chicago. it is the best of both worlds. I live 5 minutes from Lake Michigan and paid $80k for my house, get great beach access, and wilderness hiking on top of being an hour from downtown Chicago. My property taxes were $400 last year. I hate you.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 11:30 AM) I'm serious. I'm still pissed that when I was going to buy the original one you made, that the damn thing was already closed. I didn't like the 2nd one as much as the first so I figured one day you'd make the original again or another version. I want it bad!!! It was beautiful. You liked Jimmy Gets Buckets more than DEAL WITH IT? with the digitized sunglasses? You a fool. I still rock my DEAL WITH IT.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 09:24 AM) You can see it has gotten to him too. When he fumbled that ball out of bounds last night with nobody near him, he immediately started muttering to himself. It sucks but he is a big negative out there now, even his normally strong defense has been pretty bad He's 34 god damned years old and didn't have a ton of talent to start with. He's now worse than 70% of the D League.

I really feel like they need to cut Kirk Hinrich. I've never been a Kirk fan, and certainly not the past few seasons, but I understood why he was kept around. Now, there's no reason.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 07:19 AM) Blake Griffin such a bonehead You know that attention from Blake was that guy's best moment of the week.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jan 17, 2015 -> 11:04 PM) I watched those episodes. I predict Robertson to be unranked, Melky to be #6, Sale at either #3 or #4 (they might put Kluber ahead of him), and Abreu at #2. This isn't necessarily what I think is right, but I have a feeling this is what The Shredder will say. No chance in hell Kluber gets put in front of Sale.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 20, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) I have been playing The Show a ton this month for some reason. Since my RTTS will transfer over to the new game, I figured I'd play that. It's now 2016 and I am a starting pitcher with the Angels. Just played the Sox, and they have quite the different lineup. From memory it was something like..... CF Adam Eaton 3B Garin Cecchini DH Conor Gillaspie 1B Pedro Alvarez C Miguel Montero SS Alexei Ramirez RF Jerry Sands SS Ruben Tejada LF Adam Engel SP - Sale, Q, Rodon, Cahill, AJ Cole CL - Wade Davis They also acquired Joey Gallo somehow. That is very, very bad! I assume you kicked their ass.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 07:08 PM) IMO, if White Sox fans don't want to be the butt of attendance jokes, they should go the the games. I don't understand the outrage here. The draw 1,000,000 more fans a year, and some guy questions him using a team that doesn't draw anything but tumbleweeds as his example. Agreed.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jan 18, 2015 -> 10:17 PM) How do I figure out what my freelance hourly salary should be? I've taken my current salary, divided it by 2080, and tacked on $5 - $10.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 17, 2015 -> 07:24 AM) lol. gmab. Kawhi Leonard was/is one of the emerging young stars in the league. A physical freak. Him winning finals mvp (he did nothing the first 2 games) was about his evolution as a player, not LeBron's lack of defense. Is LeBron playin' d like he did in 2009 or like he did in the '11 conference finals when he made mvp Rose his b****? No. But he's 30 now and has logged well over 40,000 minutes in his career, not to mention 3 Olympics. If you think MJ (you probably do) was playing defense at 30/31 like he did when he was 25 then you're a nut. Preach. We could isolate players in any game and over analyze every play and take a 5 second clip to make them look bad.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 16, 2015 -> 02:59 PM) John Fox publicly complimented his future boss that just signed him to a big contract? What a scoop Glaze! Well, he told his friend that information - I didn't see him give an interview regarding that. That said - yeah, this is the same as everyone being in the best shape of their lives in Spring Training. -

Aside from del Rio, Fox would be my next best choice. I really like Jack del Rio, but Fox coming available after the other big targets were scooped up really worked out for the Bears. I'd have to say that I think the Bears had something in place with him which might be why he said f*** it on Denver.
