  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 07:33 PM) Yeah, and that 1 season wasn't very good. If B-Mac was 100% healthy, I'd take him over Danks right now. Of course, John could come out and have a good season, and then I'd look like an idiot if someone bumps this and B-Mac is on the shelf. bookmarked.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 10, 2008 -> 06:07 PM) Right now, you'd say the trade hasn't really paid off for either team at this point. Still right now, at least Danks is healthy. Danks is only 22 and has a big league season under him... I'll take him 8 days a week.
  3. Khabby's awful! Again, you compare them as if they are equal, while I take Khabibulin's salary into account. Plus, Bulin is injured, again, so if he were out there I bet his save percentage would have been even worse! On a serious note, I'm over Lalime vs. Khabibulin. Obviously neither is going to stand on their head and take over a game. I was all about Brian Griese early this year too, very vocally as well, so I've been known to be wrong before. I do stand behind the fact that with Lalime and Khabibulin playing similarly, if this team could have found a taker for 'bulin that would be the best move, but I don't think that was even a remote possibility. I think the fact is neither tender will steal many games means neither is the answer. As long as Patrick Kane is on a line it doesn't look like there will be much backchecking, so I think the next thing on DT's wishlist should be a stud goaltender the likes of which we haven't seen since the days of Ed Belfour (sorry to all the Hackett, Terrerri, Thibault, Bulin lovers). I am no longer talking goaltenders as its fairly obvious the problem isn't just in the net, it's the overall defense (hence DTs wishlist to get a proven d-man in.) sigh. they couldn't dominate forever, and this very well could be another in the list of 07-08 blackhawk streaky runs where they lose quite a few before they go on a winning streak again.
  4. QUOTE(Wedge @ Mar 8, 2008 -> 07:39 AM) He. f***ing. Ducked. Out. Of. The. Ball's. Way. Great.
  5. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Mar 7, 2008 -> 07:54 AM) Anyone hear that ridiculous Hawks song they are trying to use from Ministry?? God that sucks. It's awful.
  6. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 6, 2008 -> 01:41 PM) I like 2K8 but i just feel 2K7 was a better, more fun game. In 2K8, layups and "easy" shots are missed waaayyy too often. Yes i know there are sliders but i feel 2K7 was more realistic. Also, the controls of players was easier in my opinion. It was easier to get to the hole and get around guys, now if you move slightly another way the guy like does a pause/stutter/reverse of direction. Graphically yes its better...but as far as gameplay, i just feel 2K7 was slightly better. Hmm, I've had no issues with gameplay, and though IGN eludes to too many missed layups, I really haven't seen that as an issue. I think all in all, the game might be the best sports game I've played. Just my opinion though.
  7. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 10:18 PM) anybody who says Leonardo is anything less than the best Ninja Turtle really needs to sit alone in a room for a few hours and contemplate life, because Leonardo is best evar I actually think Leo was a homosexual.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 3, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) I liked Donatello. He always had the best weapon out of any of the Turtles. Who wants to use nun-chuks, when you have that large stick to use against your enemies. Donatello was my favorite as well... great thread.
  9. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 6, 2008 -> 11:30 AM) Fixed. 2k8 is the s***. I don't see how a better game could be made.
  10. I guess I'd take Phil Hughes from the Yanks if they want Paulie, though they might have to throw in another spect or two.
  11. Hope he can pull through, but the odds say he won't despite the positive article. link
  12. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 6, 2008 -> 02:24 AM) Rex Grossman was the same QB who was on a Super Bowl team the year before. The problem was that the Bears O-Line sucked so bad that everyone else sucked. I also sincerely doubt they look for a QB in the first; I'd be surprised if they don't look for a lineman, if one is available. Unless they do something soon to change my mind, the Bears seem to be headed toward taking a WR in the first two rounds. I'd prefer they go OT over WR in the first, because you can hopefully get someone who can step right in and dominate.
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 11:48 PM) Question for those smarter than I: Is Crawford a young fill in type at goalie, or is he somebody the Hawks think can eventually be a solid and legit, consistent starter in the NHL? The Blackhawks would have you believe he's the future, publicly, but as recently as two years ago he was not high on their radar. Stand-up goaltenders are practically extinct in favor of the butterfly, so his success is already hampered by that fact. I'd love to see Crawford make it as a starter in the NHL, but I just don't see it. He could be a solid backup for quite a few years, but I don't think he's starting materials. In other subjects, this is the best the Blackhawks have looked since the days of Roenick (save the one playoff appearance in the last ten years, but that team played over its head and got dominated by the Blues in the first round). EDIT: Oh, and you won't be able to trade 'Bulin... at this point he's too expensive, too injury-ee, and just not at the level that makes people scream to take a chance on him anymore.
  14. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 11:15 PM) MVP 05 = greatest sports game ever... that is all. followed ever so closely by NBA 2k8.
  15. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 09:01 AM) Both of you are mistaken. This is a piece to replace Moose Nothing More. Would you rather overpay for Berrian that would put the Bears in Salary Cap Hell for the next 5 seasons? Don't forget , extensions for Tommie Harris and Devin Hester will be coming up. I'd rather not lose those 2 because of stupid spending. AJ, come on bro. Aren't you a little more concerned with filling the #1 than with filling the #2 at this point? Who's going to be our #1? You don't need to throw $55 mill at Javon Walker to make a good move. Don't you think our 1st and 4th would net us a Chad Johnson? You have to get Rex a #1 option finally or he's just being set up to fail again. Patch the o-line in rounds 2 and 3... maybe trade Urlacher. GET CREATIVE DAMMIT!
  16. I don't see why they didn't just set aside a room near the women's locker rooms for these women. Banning men is a bit odd.
  17. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Mar 2, 2008 -> 12:44 PM) When I still lived in Sauk Village, a mere stones throw from the border, that is where I did 90% of my shopping. Food, gas, electronics, whatever. It was just as close as almost anything else in Illinois, and even 4 years ago, the tax difference was pretty visable. However in the last few years, the gas prices have caught up to Illinois, so there isn't as big of a difference there. 3 of my neighbors while there moved to Indiana. I, however, chose to go west. At least I am out of Cook County. West is where it's at... Lombard, Wheaton, Oak Brook, as long as it's DuPage County and not s***ty Cook!
  18. I don't really see how Hillary winning Texas by 3% (CNN) is all that big a deal. They split the delegates up almost-evenly, and now Obama can continue to do what he does with the major states out of the way and what is still a respectable lead. I do, however, think its time HE started the smear campaigning.
  19. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 5, 2008 -> 07:48 AM) LOL, thats awesome. Taking the game back before you even opened it Well, you can't really take it back after you open it! It's a calculated move based on the reviews being about 90% negative. I said "what the hell" and picked it up because its the only option, but after reading the framerate issues alone, I refuse to drop $64.04 on an unfinished product just because its the only option. Seriously, NFL 2k > Madden, MVP > MLB 2k... this couldn't have gone any worse, and I'm sick of it. I guarantee I feel much better about exchanging MLB 2k8 for GTA IV pre-order than I would about opening that, from all accounts I've heard, piece of s*** game.
  20. I really love how I was greatly chastised for claiming that Patrick Lalime was a better goaltender than Nikolai Khabibulin, have been proven correct, yet am still generally ignored by the two who flipped out on me in this thread for making such an "outrageous" point. Classy.
  21. I love how the Bears have lowered expectations so far that fans are getting excited about MARTY BOOKER. He's 32 and hasn't been worthwhile since the Bears traded him. Seriously, if this is our #1, count me out.
  22. f*** this. After reading a bazillion awful reviews of MLB 2k8 online, I'm taking mine back (haven't opened it yet) and using the cash for a GTA IV pre-order. If they can't put out a worthwhile baseball game, f*** it, I hope the Sox don't suck this year!
  23. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 28, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) I'm with Jimbo. Been looking for a change and applying everywhere but can't get a sniff. Frustrating. Sounds like me. Been with my company two years now (out of college), so looking to move to the next thing, with more cash... can't even get a phone call on what have been many extremely solid cover letters.
  24. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Mar 4, 2008 -> 12:33 PM) Just got MLB 2k8 first impression is that it totally sucks. um. please elaborate.
