  1. OK, I officially hate John Paxson. The Bulls could have dealt much more and still had a very respectable team to put around Gasol. The Lakers could win the Championship THIS year with that team once Bynum gets back. They had the best record in the Western Conference before Bynum went down.
  2. I'm actually all about adding Crisp, but I do want to see a lot of Quentin as well.
  3. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 12:56 PM) 1 of the 6 goals were weak as the team was completely dominated in every period, but hey, like I said, whatever helps you sleep at night as the resident hockey expert. If you think goaltending is the only issue (which is all you ever post about), good luck. Man, I never said I was the resident hockey expert, and I post about more than just goaltending. Lay off it and stop trying to start things. Khabibulin is the highest paid player on this team. He deserves to be held accountable moreso than say, Adam Burrish. If Bulin were playing like he was signed to (not his fault he got offered so much) then this team is in that game last night. Two of the first period goals were awful unless you consider the horrible angle he took on the first goal not his fault or his gaping 5 hole on the trickling puck for the 3rd goal not incredibly weak. I guess that's your call. He's been brutal and outplayed by Lalime, and at this point the Hawks should play the 'tender who gives them the best chance to succeed, and that's not Khabibulin. As for Forsberg, I doubt he'd sign here and he's not really what this team needs. Chances are he's going to a Cup Contender for a run here and will sit out half of next year or so. I think with Havlat we've already got one glass player too many!
  4. QUOTE(G&T @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 12:50 PM) Just to clarify, you mean "will make" correct? Or do you mean that Stone thinks the Sox need to make a move for Crisp? No, I mean he had a conversation with Reinsdorf and suggested the Sox make a move for Crisp. He told Reinsdorf that Crisp would be invaluable as a true CF who can defend well and is a likely bounce-back candidate.
  5. FYI, Steve Stone on 670 just said that he had a discussion with Reinsdorf yesterday and suggested the White Sox definitely make a move for Crisp.
  6. Who here just can't stand the idea of the trend continuing? Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton If Hillary wins this I'll be crushed.
  7. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:20 PM) Hey, whatever makes you feel good about yourself. No other observations about the entire team's s*** play, I'll assume. Savvy might not survive this road trip. How does Khabibulin being awful make me feel good about myself, yeah, the team played like crap... the moment I posted that he had let in one of the weakest goals I've seen. Khabibulin let in two incredibly weak goals in the first period. Sure, the team was playing poorly, but midway through the 2nd it easily could have been 2-1, not 4-1. Trust me, it's a lot less demoralizing to a team when you're down 1 goal, not 3... that had a HUGE effect on the rest of the game. I don't get why nothing bad can be said about Khabibulin without bring up the rest of the roster. If he plays poorly, he plays poorly, and if I want to bring it up, I will, because it was blatantly obvious to anyone watching. He let in two softies that shouldn't even be going in during rat hockey. He was brutal. That is all. As for Savvy, time will tell. It seems like with Havlat's back-talk to Savvy as well as the poor performance last night (there wasn't much effort all-around) that the team might be quitting on him soon. Or, it just might be high-time to get Lalime back in net so we can win some games! I still think we need to sell some of these vets who actually have some value, especially Lang whom any contender would be happy to have.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) The REAL RED RISING 80 points already More like the RED CONSISTENTLY GOOD
  9. A Philly fan's perspective from a Philly board. Bad day to be in the NL East.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:02 AM) Mets pitchers don't throw no-hitters. They do now.
  11. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) Well, Hillary doenst care about Michigan. She ignored it when it happened. But Florida is VERY important to not only Clinton, but the Democratic party. Remember 2000 and 2004? Florida was a KEY state. Ohio and Florida where decider states. So, the democratic party can not afford to disenfranchise democratic voters in FL by saying they dont count in the primaries. It might drive them away in a general election, and they need EVERY vote they can get. They should have thought about that before ruling that the votes wouldn't count and thus effecting the primaries.
  12. Someone tell me, how can they tell the candidates that FL/MI will not count and then consider having them count? That doesn't even sound plausible. Someone needs to explain this to me right now. The thought of Hillary as Pres. makes me a tad queasy.
  13. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Johan Santana will throw a no-hitter this year. I mean, think about it... Johan vs. the Nasty Nats?? The Marlins?? He'll throw at least one no-hitter... write it down fellas.
  14. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) Comcast doesn't have it tomorrow, it's exclusively versus. I love it. Too bad Buffalo jumped out to such an early lead. Boy Tampa sucks this year... hopefully game 2 will be more rewarding.
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 06:12 PM) Versus has double header of HD Hockey today with Buffalo/Tampa and San Jose/Edmonton and another one tomorrow that includes the Hawks/Avs game at 8:30. I hope that Hawks/Avs game isn't blacked out on VS for a CSN broadcast. I'd love to watch it in HD!
  16. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 06:11 PM) Just on daa84's post, would you rather have given up Gio + DLS + Sweeney for Santana (and re-sign him at say 6 years, 130-140M) or those guys for Nick Swisher who's signed to a more affordable contract and could put up 35HR's and a +.375OBP? The Twins a. would not trade santana to the white sox b. would laugh in your face if you made that offer how is that offer comparable to the deal they got from the mets? it's a laughingstock.
  17. That would be one crowded outfield... As for the "what would we give up" the Red Sox more than likely would be looking at it as a salary dump and I believe Mike MacDougal would do the trick. Not that I recommend it...
  18. Good stuff. The sooner he's out of the AL Central, the better. I pray he winds up on the Mets and is out of the AL for the remainder of his career! Santana in the NL... under 2 era?
  19. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jan 21, 2008 -> 12:04 PM) Anyone else watch Breaking Bad on AMC last night? I thought it was a pretty good, Coen brothers-esque dark comedy. I like the show a lot, actually.
