I find it funny. If you want to stop them you have to stop them, not just pray they are good sports about things.

Two things. 1) can a mod change the title of this topic to "Kobe to Bulls rumors" 2) this just doesn't seem like its going to happen anytime soon. Buss still wants Deng, Pax still won't trade him.

Predict where A-Rod will be playing in 2008
Steve9347 replied to gosox41's topic in The Diamond Club
Anaheim. Moreno + A-Rod = happy Anaheim. until the playoffs that is... -
hmm, should we merge the 50 post topic in trade winds with this 20 post topic? just seems to make sense to get it all in one spot.

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 28, 2007 -> 11:32 PM) How come no one on this site ever talks about how much Aaron Rowand sucked in the playoffs? because he didn't and doesn't make 25-30 million per year... doesn't that count for something? I don't think people would complain about A-Rod's postseasons if he's making 5 mill.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 28, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) Yeah, that all makes a lot of sense. Makes so much more sense than holding onto all those guys and dumping the black hole at the other position ARod plays...SS. Seriously folks...you want this guy, put him at SS or forget about it. We've got 2 bloody 3rd basemen right now. No offense. Sorry, just read that and it was overly mean. He didn't say anything about putting A-Rod at 3rd, he said put Fields at 1st, which presumably leaves 3B for Crede and SS for A-Rod. No, thanks, lets get a real rebuilding in here. Just say "no" to A-Rod.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 27, 2007 -> 10:20 PM) f***ing brutal loss. Can't lose to the worst team in hockey AT HOME. It sounded like the Hawks completely outplayed Atlanta, too. Still gotta find a way to beat that team. And the .500-or-better record is gone just like that. f***ing a. They've had a rough start to the season, but the Thrashers are in no way the worst team in hockey. They are without their star goaltender, but any team with Hossa/Kovalchuk is something special, and I expect them to be in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race by the end of the season. I mean, come on, the Thrashers won the Southeast Division last year and finished with 97 points. This is a very deep and good hockey team that is just starting slowly. If you're going to jump on the bandwagon, prepare for some ups and downs, it'll probably be a bumpy ride this year. The Penguins finished 22-46-14 in Sid the Kid's rookie year... it's a process. The old man is dead and home games will be on TV, so this has already been a great season. Add to that Toews and Kane actually looking like the real deal, and I couldn't be happier. Tough loss, but the kids produced. Go Hawks! -
Decent new jersies.

why is this in pale hose talk? wouldnt trade winds or diamond club make way more sense. oh, and I'd definitely take him on the Sox.

Steve9347 replied to StatManDu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Happy White Sox Day everybody. -
2005, thats my sox fan's perspective haha. honestly, the tribe/marlins series was fantastic, as was the yankees/braves series when the yanks were the underdogs.

The Hawks definitely have a ways to go, anyone who's jumping on the bandwagon must realize that getting the 8th seed in the playoffs this year would be a huge victory in itself. When you bank on two teenagers to carry you, you're going to have some bad games. Last night's game just further cemented the fact that fighting in hockey is just dumb. Everytime Koci gets out there I want to kil myself because he's just not good and is only looking to kill someone. Unfortunately for him he always ends up looking like a fire hydrant of blood gushing out of his face. He got his ass kicked by Zdeno Chara big time. I'm so over fighting in hockey. -
"wowsers in his trousers" 'nuff said.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 07:33 PM) This argument sucks ass. The Yankees were the best shot because they were the only team that could absorb a contract of that magnitude and not feel the negative side-effects. If he signs for near that amount on a team with lesser payroll flexibility, that's it, there will be no championship for them. The argument doesn't suck ass. -
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 02:29 PM) Tyrus is still a little immature; that goes without saying. I mean, the dude just turned 21 in August. He showed me plenty last year, though. He plays his ass off on the court. I'm talking hustle points, crazy rebounds, altered shots, etc. That's my type of player. If it sounds good, I'll end sentences in prepositions like it ain't no thang. I'll concede that I wouldn't pull that type of s*** on a college paper, though. My bad, professor. You're kinda wack sometimes, Steve. It's all fun and games, big dogg, 'twas a joke it was.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 10:40 AM) What's retarded is when a team basically clears the way to give you a job, and you can't even show up to practice with your teammates for the summer. Its also retarded when the #4 pick in the draft is getting shown up by the #49 pick. Hey, someone who understands the gist of my first post! I can always count on SS2k5 for that... That's exactly what I was saying... it shouldn't even be questioned, I don't care how young he is, Tyrus was taken 4th overall by the team with the 2nd overall pick (over the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge) and has a year of NBA seasoning under his belt. I don't care how you twist experience around, Noah and Gray don't have a year of NBA experience under their belts and the fact that Tyrus couldn't show them up in the preseason was very telling.
-
Speaking of retarded, you ended a sentence with a preposition. I'm am so just kidding. My huge issue is Tyrus looks no better now than he did in preseason last year, and I expected some development, some discipline, and not for it to be questioned with Aaron Gray, Joakim Noah, or Tyrus got the more serviceable minutes. If he starts, I'll be pretty happy. We'll see what happens.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) 1) Who have the Patriots beat? Really, who have they put up those numbers on that has even a "good" defense? Jets? Bengals? Browns? Phins? Bills? Cowboys? Those are some stout defenses right there. Its not like the Colts havent played a much more difficult schedule and still been able to score over 30 points except for 1 game. More like everyone they've played and by tons of points QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) 2) Best wr corps? Ill take my Reginald Wayne, Marvelous, Gonzalez, Clark. In my book, Moss> Marvelous, Wayne > Stallworth or Welker, Clark > Watson. I would rather have the Indy corps just because of consistency. Man, I like that NE better... let's do this smarter... Moss > Harrison, Wayne > Stallworth, Welker > Gonzalez by a long shot... since those are the WIDE RECEIVERS QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) 3) Offensive genius? What genius? Throw to Moss in triple coverage like the Dolphins game? Have Stallworth break tackles on a 10 yard pass? How exactly is throwing the ball to Randy Moss genius? I would say Manning has more offensive genius than the Pats. If it ain't broke don't fix it? They score at will all day long. You're points are all incorrect and/or dumb and full of heresay.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:23 PM) Highlights are up on chicagoblackhawks.com for last night's game. Kane's assist to Wizniewski on the fourth goal is awesome. He fends off two checkers on the goal line to get it to Wizniewski who was pinching in (in the slot) and Wizniewski buries it. Kane is the best thing this city has seen hockey-wise since Roenick's early days... he's a studmuffin. -
QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) I dont think the Patriots will win. Right now I think the Colts are better, because if it comes down to who is going to score the most points, my money is on laser rocket arm. Have you WATCHED the Pats this year?
-
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) Brady will probably take the record from Manning this year, but I hope people remember that. Manning had absolutely no defense behind him during that year--if we didn't score 30 points, we were probably losing the game. Brady's defense may be a little more down than it usually is, but this is stat padding at its finest. Dude the Colts threw for many "meaningless" touchdowns in 2004 as well man. In a 49-14 win over Houston Manning threw two touchdowns when already up 28 points. He threw a pointless TD in a 51-24 win over Tennessee add to that a pointless touchdown against oakland, and im sure there were other times they should having been runnin but instead were gunnin. get over it, brady's doing better, stop being a baby!

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 11:05 AM) Colts going to a RBBC? http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti.../710240469/1100 I saw that. Kind of blows my mind considering I absolutely adore Addai and think as long as he's been healthy he's kicked some ass this year, but Keith has been good himself.

You know what is funny, normally I get really sick of the media over-hyping New England based sports teams, but in this situation I can't get enough of it. I'd watch the Patriots every week (helps to have drafted Moss in the 3rd round of my most important fantasy league) if given the option. This team is unbelievable and I really don't see anyone else winning the Super Bowl. I guess at that extent its kind of impossible to overhype them. Now, Boston fans will be intolerable (more so than they already are) if the Red Sox and Patriots both win championships this year... but I can't say I'd root against this Patriots team like I am the Red Sox.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 09:23 AM) It's show time. The biggest agent on sports with a certain HoF player about to hit his prime. It will be a record contract, there are only a couple teams that could swallow it. Grab the popcorn, lock up your wallet, this is going to be fun. Plus, he's someone that could legit play in either league without much of a drop off. With Boras as an agent, factors like playing in the AL with the DH at the end of his career will not come into play. It's like knowing tomorrow's lotto numbers. Isn't he in the latter part of what is generally considered players' primes? I'm not saying I expect his numbers to drastically drop, but normally a player turning 26, 27, 28 is considered about to hit his prime, not one turning 32.
