  1. QUOTE(Shadows @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) Wise up Steve, I thought you were more knowledgeable than this I am... and you are very obviously a Miami homer who wears your heart on your sleeve. That's not a horrible thing, btw, but I stand by the fact that Marshawn Lynch > Ronnie Brown in talent.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 09:35 AM) Ah, well that proves he would have underthrown that pass. I stand corrected. Well s***, he could have play-action faked, ran back to the one yard line and done cart-wheels to the endzone with his pants off... but he didn't and his track record suggests he wouldn't have... just like his track record suggests he wouldn't have even seen Desmond Clark and probably would have thrown to the first option on that play, which wasn't Clark.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 09:31 AM) You have had a hard on for trading Bobby all year long. Did he kick your dog or something. This is the first time in a long time we have a good closer and the first thing you want to do is spin him for prospects. He is young, and he is cheap. And dont give me the well we could get a Borowski type guy, because those types won't play well at the Cell. Ask the rest of our pen how getting the ball up works in our park in the summer. To me you build your pen backwards from Bobby. You have a Loogy in Boone, Waserman looks like he will stick. This is your starting point. Fill the rest from there. I like your love of Bobby, but I am of the belief that trading him would be the best thing. Yeah, its nice that we have a guy who pitches 65 innings a year, SIXTY FIVE INNINGS WTF, but put that in perspective. If we can get some valuable pieces who play 9 innings a game and have some upside that's a no-brainer. You have to have a lead before you can get a save, and selling high on a RELIEVER, no matter how good is something I can totally agree upon with an organization that has so many flaws.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 01:10 AM) He's 4 years away from free agency. 2005 didn't count as a full season so 2007 is only his second year of service time. You might want to check that out... dude pitched a lot in 2005 (and was called up July 5)... if 2005 didn't count then I'd think the MLBPA would have something to say about that... teams would do it all the time.
  5. QUOTE(Shadows @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 01:40 PM) Thats just ridiculous Tell me why. I love how Ronnie Brown has three good weeks in three years and all of the sudden he's amazing. Marshawn Lynch is the real deal, Ronnie Brown is Cedric Benson with an offensive line.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) Except Favre at 38 hasn't even played as bad as Romo did in that game. Romo had more int's in that game than Favre has all year. duuuuuuude, im pretty sure Favre threw 6 INTs in a game a few years ago... yes. in the playoffs against Saint Loo a few years back. But you're right, he's never played that bad...
  7. QUOTE(Shadows @ Oct 9, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) There is nothing I like on Buffalo more than I do on Miami, I don't know why wite seems to think their future is so much brighter than Miamis.. Despite Ronnie Brown's finally living up to the hype, I'd take Marshawn Lynch over him anyday. Lynch's top speed is just ridiculous and he definitely changes direction much better. Both teams blow and will blow for a few more years regardless, but give me Lynch over Brown.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 09:42 PM) Actually, Rex would never have seen him. He still has Mike Tomczak disease - he projects his passes, and is incapable of checking down to 2nd and 3rd receivers, unless its the outlet back. Don't let the Rex backers hear you...
  9. Of course... it can't just be "Romo's having a bad game," it's "He's having a Rex Grossman game!" I wonder how many years Rex will be brought up when a QB is turning the ball over all day...
  10. The media is too in love with Romo for him to be bad...
  11. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 03:43 PM) I didnt really think Griese looked that much better than Grossman, seems the OL is doing a better job of not letting free players wreck our QB, and now that Olsen is playing its giving the QB another big target. When Griese floats a ball, I always just have to wonder, could Rex have done it slightly better. right... of course Rex could have done better... what a joke. he couldnt, he didnt, and this team is better with griese.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) What would cause a file on a shared network drive to go into a "read only" state besides someone else having the file open? Some asshole saving the file wrong?
  13. The series to see who stands zero chance in the World Series against one of the Red Sox/Indians/Yankees.
  14. I really wish the rest of the playoffs were staying... I don't know why our chicago broadcasts (and fox/espn for that matter) haven't adopted the scorecard for players stats so you really know what happened during the game. The HD looks glorious too... ESPN's is just as stellar, but any game on FOX leaves a little to be desired imo.
  15. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 8, 2007 -> 09:53 AM) Are you going to do this every game, good or bad? I defended Griese after last week's game in Detroit if you want to go back a few posts... so yeah, looks like i am.
  16. As I stated all season long, Griese is a better QB, and will make this team better as the season goes on... Just wait until he hits his stride (we started seeing this in the second half).
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Oct 6, 2007 -> 02:12 PM) Just for the record, I too cannot complete a sentence without swearing. you just did.
  18. That...was...hilarious... nice touch with the "Congratulations Chicago White Sox" on Wrigley at the end.
  19. I believe Jeremy posted this in Trade Winds because talk always comes up of Clark playing CF in Chicago. Three years ago, nice, now, yikes... he can't field his position nor hit, and the world now recognizes this. Unfortunately, I could definitely see Kenny jumping on this if he doesn't nab Hunter or Rowand...
  20. There are three guarantees in life 1) death 2) paying taxes 3) When you see Steff is posting you can assume there is an argument. 29, don't bother, I've tried... it's like talking to a brick wall. Oh, and she's "made" so don't be surprised if you end up suspended because of a fair argument with her. I'm sure this perfectly honest post will have me suspended as well... that's life. Go Sox.
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 08:05 AM) I finally caught the replay. Havlat is out for a while, I agree. I guess we could pray for some sort of bruise, but that just doesn't seem all that likely. The way he had his right arm by his side looked awful. Be interested to see who gets the call. Skille? Maybe the kids will get more time then we all thought. well, hopefully Toews is ready to go in the next coupla games... can't say I'm shocked, the Blackhawks "stars" always seem to go down and early.
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 5, 2007 -> 08:52 AM) Thankfully that's exactly what I did. I'm pissed about this though. I'm in a keeper league(everyone gets 2 keepers, 10 person league) and Henry was my first pick. Boo urns. hm. unless this was a continueing keeper in which you already had two youngsters, taking an aged back like henry in keeper maka no sense either!
  23. it's funny that she denied it for so long with so much evidence stacked against her. i don't really believe any athletes when they deny reports like this... but yes, she should go to prison, but she won't.
  24. The insane payout she'll get will pay for much better boobies.
