  1. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 05:31 PM) For the record, here's the jerseys I've bought: Marcus Robinson Anthony Thomas Rex Grossman Tuomo Ruutu (he's pegged for a big year but I'm sure he'll score 15 and get hurt) Joe Borchard From now on I don't think I'll buy any current-player jerseys. Ouch, that's a tough run, I think i can match you though... Curtis Enis Anthony Thomas Mike Brown (I never get to enjoy this, though I guess it's still current) Steve Sullivan Ron Artest (BULLS) Tyson Chandler Brian Anderson I have an Urlacher jersey too, thank God, and a Sox jersey with my last name on it because I'll always be with the Sox, lol. I do plan on getting a Garret Wolfe Bears jersey, but that's because I went to NIU while he played there, so it'll stay cool forever to me. Other than that, I think I'm done, I've (as you can see) obviously been burned a few times. As for Griese, he did quite well in 2004 with a less than superb supporting cast around him in Tampa, so we'll see what he does this weekend.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 05:06 PM) Career ratings are less meaningful without looking at the trend. 97-79-62 isn't very encouraging. I say go for it, but to predict he's noticibly better next week is a stretch. You're seriously going to count the 32 sporadic attempts he had with the 2nd team last year? Howsabout we do complete seasons? 76-103-79-86-98
  3. and to those of you who think this is temporary... Rex Grossman won't start another game for the bears unless Griese gets injured (and I think Orton might be #2 on the depth chart tomorrow)
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) Considering my brother is a diehard Michigan fan, and Griese was his favorite player to ever play football, I've seen a good majority of his starts in the NFL. He just isn't the same player after his knee injury, and if we think he's going to be able to avoid the rush better than Grossman, we're in a lot of trouble. Like I said earlier, Turner did a pathetic job of letting Grossman go downfield in order to get a big play/penalty. You mean the knee injury that ended his 2005 season, after which he has yet to be a starting quarterback of an NFL franchise? I'm sorry, but do you have a personal spot next to Lovie for practices? Give me a break, and give Griese a shot. His two years in Tampa were quite productive before the injury (97.5 rating in 2004 and 5-1 record in 2005 before injury)...
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) The big issue is that Griese just isn't good. I put a lot of blame on Turner for not going deep enough this year, especially to Hester. It seemed like the Bears excelled last year when they could get the deep pass going, and it never worked out well when they would try to run it twice and then convert on a pass on 3rd and 6. Now that Rex is done in Chicago, and Griese isn't special, I really hope we're not anticipating Orton being the starter in 2008. Hey Mr. Pessimism. How many career starts of Greise's have you seen? Oh less then 10? Wait, less than 3!?!? Wow, at least you know what you are talking about. As I've touted countless times before, Griese is an improvement over Grossman, as you can plainly see with his 84.5 passer rating compared to Grossman's 69.3 rating. Griese also has a career TD/INT of +24 (on some rather bad teams, fyi), while Rex is a whopping -4. To say Griese is not an upgrade is to spout uneducated post after post after post.
  6. Just reported on 670 the Score. Looks like Rex Grossman is officially out and demoted to #3 behind Griese and Orton. THANK YOU GOD.
  7. Dude, the absolute EASIEST thing you can do is download the DIVX player. When you try to play the file in there, it will tell you exactly which codecs you need, and either prompt you to download or write it down and do a google search and download said codec. EVERYTIME I have this issue, I use DIVX, and it solves my problem quickly and efficiently.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 09:54 AM) Dodgers fans seem to think that they are going to have to just give Furcal away because of his bad contract. I would think that KW should lowball and see if us picking up the contract is good enough, plus maybe a lower tier player. Would Garland for Furcal/Kershaw be out of the question?
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 10:15 AM) Boy you seem awful familiar with that... BURN!
  10. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 25, 2007 -> 08:40 AM) Steve-O - I see you changed your Rexy sig. How could I not, lol?

  12. Yeah, we stepped in that place, the guy I was with wanted to go there... I took one look at my wife and said, "I'll take care of it." What a f***ing dump, joke that was. A bunch of kids throwing toilet paper around and eating dogfood... I'll never step in there again. I convinced my friend (who for whatever reason ACTUALLY LIKES THE DUMP) to go down the road and we had a very solid dinner at PJ Clark's. Dick's Last Resort = stupid unless you're 12, I assume.
  13. A great bright spot on a struggling team. I hope this leads to other things.
  14. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) no and no csn home games this year. that's just f***ing stupid. f*** bill wirtz and his 1950's ideals.
  15. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 07:27 PM) Now the real fun begins. well, soon anyway... Does anyone know if hawks road games on csn will be HD. I'd be really pissed if I couldnt watch any hawks in HD except the few on VS and nbc (and like the 4 home games wirtz allows on csn)
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 02:43 PM) Brian Griese needs to be the QB and he is modestly better than Rex (who isn't?), but it won't change much. He makes a lot of mistakes too, which is why his career QB rating isn't higher when you consider how accurate a passer he is. Griese won't fix our old and bad o line, our black hole at tailback and wide receiver, Adam Archuleta sucking at life, or the fact we have 5/11 of our defensive starters hurt right now. This team just isn't that good right now, simple as that. QB ratings take into account completion %, and Griese's career 84.5 > Grossman's career 69.3 passer rating.
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 02:00 PM) And he will be replaced by a QB who will be about the same ranking in the league. It isn't like there is a huge difference. Yes, let's ignore Grossman's career 69.3 QB ratings vs. Brian Greise's career 84.5. IDENTICAL.
  18. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:46 AM) Didnt BA call Poreda the most dominant arm from this years draft? Who cares what Brian Anderson thinks about our pitchers?
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:36 AM) Love that show. There is also a beer show on there called Beer Nutz that is good as well. I'm not a big fan of that show at all... I hate the hosts, they are tools. I do somewhat enjoy the wine program though.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:28 AM) The defensive line had about ONE good rush and it was the first series. From then on they couldnt generate a damn thing. Romo had all the time in the world to throw last night. Dude, what game were you watching? The Bears often had paws on Romo, who is one of the best QB's in the league at EVADING PRESSURE. I know we've all seen too much of Grossman and him falling to the ground anytime someone got near him, but Romo was freaking amazing last night, and was pressured many times and dodged in and out of arms grabbing at him to look up and dart a pass to TO for a 3rd and long first down. Tony Romo made me a believer last night for many reasons.
  21. OK, I've been watching the program for quite some time now, and really think this show should have a thread dedicated to it to entice new viewers and for current viewers to talk about it. Zane Lamprey is a comedic genius in this program where he goes from city to city around the world getting, well, drunk. This program is not only educational, but also highly enjoyable for those who like the bar scene and those who do not. It exposes drinking cultures in cities all over the Globe (there have been about 12-14 shows already). If you have HD Programming, MOJO Network is most likely available for you to view. I encourage you to tune in. Because of this show, Food Network signed Lamprey up for a program entitled "Have Fork, Will Travel," which is basically a Three Sheets ripoff dealing with food instead of booze, normally in the same cities he does his Three Sheet program in... However, it's more reserved for a Food Network audience, and not nearly as funny. I highly encourage anyone who enjoys interesting, funny programs having to do with getting drunk and educated at the same time to tune into this program. Mojo Network: Three Sheets
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 24, 2007 -> 10:13 AM) I caught this last night too, cool show. My wife is a chef, so the Food Network is on 24/7 at our house. My wife's not a chef, but she's a woman, so the Food Network is on 24/7 at our house. Thank God Comcast added Food Network HD last month, because that makes viewing these programs highly entertaining.
  23. Yeah, I saw this like 3 months ago. I hate the chef on it so don't regularly tune in, but did enjoy this episode for obvious reasons. It's cool the Sox opened up the doors and let him do it at the Cell.
