  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 08:12 AM) Gina Gershon was hot as the dry cleaner. That character appeared in previous episodes...
  2. no, it's not creepy. im excited about the inevitable teaming up of Michael and Alex. I really like William Fichtner's character and wanted to root for him last year... so this will be perfect. Of course, they needed a plot for this season, but why, oh why, does that plot have to involve Sarah and LJ? Give it a rest.
  3. it can't get any hotter. i dont know how these women still think its a good idea to video ta[pe it.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 08:47 AM) Troy Glaus has been one of the more consistent power hitters during the 2000s. Comparing Fields to him is quite lofty. Dude, did he say "Josh Fields is as good as Troy Glaus and has been a great power hitter for the last 8 years," or did he say something more along the lines of "Josh Fields seems to be on a similar track to Troy Glaus"? It's not a comparison, it's just a feeling that multiple people have that Josh Fields will hit for power while not hitting for a high average, but still be a great bat in any lineup.
  5. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 18, 2007 -> 08:29 AM) I've thought of Glaus/Fields before. But before I project him as anything, he needs to hit the fastball. He's been in a big slump lately and I think it's because they've figured him out. Now he has to shorten up. If he can, he'll be okay, I think, because his power is great and he has good legs under him. If he can't learn to pull a fastball, he has no significant major league future. Hmmm, 3rd baseman with a long swing that struggles against the fastball but kills the offspeed pitch. JOEEEE CREEEDEEEE anyone? I do think Fields will wind up being Glaus 2.0, but you are right, he has to learn to kill that fastball.
  6. Josh Fields will = Troy Glaus I actually see him putting up very similar numbers to Glaus, but let's hope for a better run in the health dept. I'll happily take that.
  7. Juan Uribe's September stats: .340, 1.061 OPS, 4 HR in 50 AB. You want him back too?
  8. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) Danny Richar's line for September: .309 BA, .945 OPS in 55 AB's. 3 Hr's. You can normally find a good part to anyone's season... come on, are you serious?
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) Talk about a guy who scammed the system big time. He got a 5 year $55 million contract because of a the bounce up in his preformance. Smartest/luckiest player in baseball? and no, no green is needed... I'm serious.
  10. QUOTE(BobDylan @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 03:13 PM) 7 month old? I wonder if they thought it was worth prison in life to shoot a 7 month old. ?? Anyone who can shoot a 7 month old who is sitting in a car seat doesn't think much at all. This is one of the sickest things I've heard.

    About Your Bed

    QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 02:48 PM) I'm married. What do you think? that
  12. I'm sure it will show up at the following link shortly. http://www.tv-links.co.uk/listings/1 It was a very good episode, and to be honest, "K-Ville" was pretty good too.
  13. QUOTE(vandy125 @ Sep 17, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) Ran into a story today on CBS that talked about the 756 homerun ball. HR #756 Looks like there is a public vote on what to do with it from the guy who won the auction: Vote on #756 This really should be it's own thread... I was going to post it but checked here first. Can a mod break this up?
  14. Shaun Alexander and Adrian Peterson. Peterson has fulltime duties bc of Chester Taylor's injury.
  15. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 10:57 AM) How's this for something big -- recruit Stephen King to collaborate on a mini-series adaption of his Dark Tower series. Name recognition and the popularity of the series should be enough to draw viewers. I'm sure somewhere, someone has thought, "that'd be a b****ing miniseries." Personally, I wouldn't consider that horror, that series was almost science fiction (and f-ing amazing)... I would be a fan of that, or a fan of bring "Ender's Game" (Orson Scott Card) into a mini-series or a series.
  16. I picture this cop as the cop from Harold and Kumar.
  17. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 15, 2007 -> 09:59 AM) I somehow sat through the pilot available on On Demand and could barely keep myself awake. I could see the appeal to those who have been (or are currently) in a marriage and relate to issues such as not having sex for long periods of time; but this subject matter, with the current assortment of characters, doesn't interest me. I don't fault, HBO, though. This show wasn't greenlit to appeal to me. What'd I really like to see HBO do is create a horror-related series. They've done it in the past with "Tales From The Crypt." If they're willing to take a chance, it'd atleast be interesting to watch something different. I don't think the demand is there... these horror flicks are all a dime a dozen and the market is over-saturated. I do think HBO is in need of something different, and something BIG! Yeah, the sex got everyone interested for a minute, but the storyline wasn't that phenomenal, and like I said, I don't want to watch television to become depressed. On a side note, does anyone else think that HBO always seems to have a crappy stock of movies playing? It seems to me like there is always a movie that I want to see on Showtime, but HBO runs the same freaking rerun shows every night in primetime until Saturday when they play a movie like "Superman Returns" that is truly "meh." Obviously, I go through like two weeks a time and set to DVR on the HD channel any movies that interest me (like Accepted, which tapes tomorrow), but I rarely find more than two in a two week span worth dvr'ing. I also find it annoying that HBO doesn't bother putting any of their movies or television series on HD On Demand. What is this, 2003? /HBO rant
  18. I've been told on numerous ocassions that I am Brian Anderson's spitting image (we're roughly the same age, too)... Ozzie hates me...
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 14, 2007 -> 04:31 PM) Haha, who cares? Get over it. It's HBO. You pay for HBO. (Not you, specifically. The Wurld.) Why would it be censored? Pick up the Bible Channel if you've got such a problem with HBO. Yo Greg, take it easy... I don't believe he ever said he had a problem with anything.
  20. I think Oden will comeback strong... but this puts a huge dagger in Portland's upcoming season.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 13, 2007 -> 12:55 PM) What's the deal with Juanito? How long til we can unload him?? I dunno, he's getting hot... I hate him and think he's a horrible player, but I wouldn't put it past this club to pick up that option.
  22. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 12, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) What's funny is people think Frank is having a good year, but Thome who has 6 more homers in 90 less ABs than Frank is "losing" power. He's also walked 12 more times. Let's see how Thome is when he's 39.5 years old... two years makes a big difference when you get in your upper 30's.
