  1. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 04:59 PM) By your logic, Shaq and Tyrus have the same skill set. Stoudamire is a natural scorer and the offense flows through him. It is hard to envision Tyrus becoming such a player UMMMMM STEVE NASH!!?!??!!?!??!??! QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 10:52 AM) The only real way the Bulls could piss me off this evening is if they take Noah. He's basically a smaller version of Tyson Chandler, but runs the floor better and doesn't get nearly as many rebounds. yes... Noah is my last resort and my anger... seems like they really like Hawes, and if Yi falls he's a no-brainer.
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) Stoudamire, while very powerful and manchild-ish, doesn't seem much of an improvement over Thomas in playing style. They both have very limited "games". Knight, I love you, but man are you way off... As for Stoudamire landing in ATL, owners rejected the sentiment bc they didn't want the cap hit. So, Bulls are the last option... Bulls could deal for Stoudamire (maybe?), Kobe (doubtful), or even Garnett (more doubtful), or just take Hawes, Wright, or Yi, and I'd be a very happy camper this evening. I can't f***ing wait.
  3. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 01:16 AM) Anyone a Velvet Revolver fan? Their new album leaked... pretty good. I wouldn't say it leaked when you can listen to it on their website... however, I downloaded it through a torrent and its ok at best... again, not very impressive, similar to their first release. It was basically an STP album. ------------------- I'm sure the discussion for my next topic already went on, but Icky Thump is one of the best albums I've heard in the last decade...
  4. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 08:21 PM) Wel Javy has been our best pitcher this year so I wouldn't get mad about having him. He's part of a solution, not part of the problem especially at his respectable contract Yeah, as long as you ignore that guy named Mark Buehrle who has been much better...
  5. Betemit for Dye straight up would be fantastic value for us at this point, imo.
  6. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 03:18 PM) I hope he speaks spanish. "What are you talking about Baxter? You know I don't speak Spanish!"
  7. Thome seems much more likely than Paulie...
  8. "don't know yet for sure"
  9. DOOOOOON'T STOP BELIIIIEEEEVIN'
  10. BRIAN HANLEY REPORTS ITS DONE!
  11. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 03:48 PM) I like it, but... Me: "Hey look, Flight of the Conchords is on." Wife: "Nope." Me: "But...." Wife: "Nope." Me: "I'll let you watch Legally Blonde or The Sweetest Thing next time it's on." Wife: "Nope." Gotta start DVR'ing it. That's EXACTLY how it happened when talking to my wife about it... I've got the first 2 episodes DVR'd. It's funny how i'll watch 90210 reruns with her, but she won't try "Flight of the Concords" lol.
  12. If he wasn't a nutjob I still wouldn't be outwardly impressed with that offer...
  13. I don't really think Omar should have been banned... there's nothing wrong with argument and I dont believe he got out of line at all...
  14. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 08:11 PM) Or I can post whatever I want and tell you to shut your face. I know you've never been a dick about anything on here. How exactly do you go about deciding what constitutes an overrated player and what constitutes an underrated one? Who is underrating these players and how are they doing it? The general populace? And what, MWAH, a dickhead? or to go the T2 route... "Excuse me, did you just call MWAH a dips***?" god i love that movie... almost as much as you, Kal.
  15. I'm sure they were scouting him for the upcoming series... he's not going to Tampa... not that i dont want half the kids in that organization... brignac longoria crawford upton baldelli (sort of) young dukes (talent wise, though stay away) hell, even gomes guzman then you have kazmir shields mcgee price niemann they are loaded with interesting and cute options, but it just won't happen.
  16. You know, in every story I read about KW trading Mark Buehrle, it reports that KW won't allow teams to negotiate a contract extension with Mark as part of a deal. Perhaps this is out of respect to Buehrle, but I think KW is severely handcuffing teams who would be willing to part with much more talent if they could negotiate a contract... that's less of a PR disaster if this 3-month renter does not result in a World Series win. So what's up with this, why won't KW let teams negotiate? If its for Buehrle, I don't see how having open ears hurts him, and if its for KW's ego bc he doesn't want Buehrle to be extended if he can't be extended with the Sox, well, that's just plain silly.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:24 AM) Trade CL Bobby Jenks & OF Brian Anderson to the Braves For C Jarrod Saltalamacchia MLB & RP Joey Devine AA & SS Elvis Andrus A+ That is about as impossible of a trade as you'll ever see. um, you missed this one might be a tad more impossible.
  18. Yeah, no thanks on the Anthony Reyes... we already have 1 project next superstar ace turned failure in Gavin Floyd. Greener pastures reside in New York, Boston, and Atlanta.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 04:57 PM) Hughes, Gallardo and Homer Bailey are the three untouchable pitching prospects in baseball. Joba and Kennedy are much more realistic. I'd take Melky and Kennedy for Buehrle. Tim Lincecum hates you for the slap in the face... considering he's the best of them...
  20. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) I don't think he will either. But if things get rough for the Yanks and Buehrle is willing to negotiate and sign an extension (ie the team gets a window to negotiate) than I do think it could become a possibility (albeit a rare one). I just don't see why you'd deal a guy like Hughes who's due back sometime soon in order to get Buehrle... Hughes is capable of pitching well now, and he's only 20 years old... you could come up with the worst possible scenario for the yankees, and it wouldnt be as bad as trading hughes for buehrle... i think we could give them thome, buehrle, sweeney, and gio gonzalez and they'd still gladly spit in our faces. maybe im crazy, but they CANNOT trade hughes... not with the hype around him and the fact that he's ready right now, albeit injured.
  21. QUOTE(mu mu @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 01:20 PM) We get to play a team that might be as bad as we are. Someone hasn't been paying much attention to the ol' D-Rays this year... they are actually fun to watch. if only bj were healthy! QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 03:44 PM) If he struggles today, I could see him moving to the bullpen and Floyd getting called up. they wont move danks to the bullpen in a season like this. he'll be in the mlb rotation for the season.
  22. QUOTE(striker62704 @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 03:35 PM) Are you being serious or making fun of me? Just curious. um. i was dead serious... Let me go out on a limb right now and say bringing up Phil Hughes' name in any talk is just utterly insane. He will not be traded by the Yankees...
  23. Not to mention he's the best mid-season pitcher that's been available in a very long time.
