  1. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 12:31 AM) I don't know, but when I was just flipping by, I think I saw Elisha Cuthbert. Is it her? If so, I might have to watch more of it No, it wasn't her, but as I was watching I did remark to my wife that she looks very similar to Cuthbert. This show is solid, and does a good job of ending on a note that makes you want to come back next week.
  2. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 11:48 AM) I'm going to go ahead and agree with Kalapse that Byrnes probably would be just a little reticent to do that trade. Dude, if the DBacks put Upton on the maaket they could get a ton more than Dye. Collaspo for Dye might be possible, but I doubt it. And Broadway has an 86 MPH fatsball. He's not a #3 starter in the International League, let alone the NL. I feel sorry for Kenny Williams at this point. Stupid People are expecting him to trade Buehrle and Dye for 10 of Baseball America's top 20 prospects. Fixed that for ya... Justin Upton won't be traded, especially for any trash the White Sox might be trying to take out.
  3. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 12:04 PM) yeah. i've looked at a few mets boards and the prevailing wisdom is that milledge for buehrle straight up is what's most fair. of course, they are idiots and fools so who cares what they think.
  4. still on pace for 130 rbi...
  5. A move that will never see the Major League roster.
  6. QUOTE(IowaSoxFan @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) How about Dye and Broadway to the D-backs for Upton, Reynolds and Callaspo? Pena can step in as the set up man next year, Callaspo can man either MI position and Upton would be a MI/CF prospect with speed that the organization wants. Reynolds and Callaspo could be your MI next year and would allow you to move Juan in the off season for another piece. With the Dbacks having their OF filled already with prospects galore, and trying to make a run this year with Johnson and Quentin struggling in RF this makes sense for both sides. Plus the Dbacks would then get two draft picks if they are not able to sign JD. Yeah, I'm SURE they want to deal Justin Upton. gtfooh
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:57 AM) Well Podsednik was 0-4 last night with a K and a CS, that's the 2nd SB he's attempted, he was successful the other time. Over his last 5 games for Charlotte he's struckout 6 times and walked only once. obviously ready for this ballclub.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:50 AM) You try for Gomez. That is the key player. Gomez+Millege would be a steal. Gomez+Pelfrey same thing. Gomez is fast as all hell, steals bases, and Omar ranked him the fastest player in the Mets organization. Milledge > Gomez. Gomez is just a flavor of the week... Milledge brings much more to the table.
  9. QUOTE(salty99 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:34 AM) Erstad is still at least 5 days away. They said he can run straight ahead but can't make sharp cuts yet. Darin "The Rhinoceros" Erstad?
  10. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:47 AM) Winner! nice! hopefully my prize is milledge+pelfrey, lol.
  11. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:41 AM) I understand your frustration, but holding onto the relics of the 2005 team will get us nowhere. But consider this, from the 2000 Division winner only four players logging MLB time were on the 2005 World Series roster. As trivia, name the players: One logged 14 ABs. One was a regular position player (logging 500+ ABs). One pitched in 28 games, started 3, logging 51.1 IP with a 4-1 record and 4.21 ERA One pitched in 15 games, started 13, logging 69.2 IP, with a 4-8 record and 6.46 ERA Anyway, the point is that it looks like the roster needs to go through significant turnover before we contend again. Believing anything else at this point is to deny reality. hmmm, ill give it a while 14 abs... Joe Crede? reg position player... Paul Konerko 28 games, started 3... mark buehrle 13 starts... garland?? seem to be the only fits.

    hello there

    Welcome aboard, nice intro!

    Entourage

    OMG, anyone who watched and wasn't rolling on the floor during Drama's 5 second part in Medillen just doesn't know comedy. When he jumped on the screen and yelled, in spanish, "LETS KILL THESE MOTHERf***ERS!" my wife and i wen nuts.
  14. Sign me the f*** up... getting Kobe for Gordon, Tyrus, PJ (just a cap formality), and the draft pick would be a steal and make us favorites in the East... easily. We'd be a good deal better than the Cavs now, and we can all see the Pistons' dropping soon... This would be a team that would be set up for a 3-4 year run (replace wallace with someone of similar caliber in two season.)
  15. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:31 AM) Having actually lived through the original "White Flag Trade", let me tell you that this situation is not a White Flag Trade. In 1997, I want to say we were 3.5 games behind the Tribe when the deal was made. Even the team was mad about the trades, I believe all the players wore shirts saying "We may be stupid enough to screw this up" under their uniforms. In the middle of a division race, everybody associated with the organization was rightly mad as hell. Designed by Robin Ventura and carried out by his wife, I believe.
  16. The Red Sox might not be done this season, but those of the white variety certainly are...
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 10:02 AM) Heilman proves nothing for us. I dont want him, and I doubt if Kenny wants him either. He Proof that the Irish love to drink... In lieu of the rest of your response, I would say that he's a solid, cheap arm, and i would already be happy with Milledge+Pelfrey, and Heilman (whom Kenny has shown interest in the past) would just be icing on the cake.
  18. Great, the great "hope" for us to not start selling. F-this.
  19. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 09:43 AM) FWIW I was watching Yankees/Mets on ESPN last night and both of them started talking about a Buehrle trade almost matter-of-factly, like this was inevitable. My heart sank, as they seemed convinced that this wasn't even news and that it would happen soon. Why would your heart sink? After Heilman's struggles last night... I think it's becoming more than likely that we could get a freaking boatload for Mark. Think Lasting Milledge, Aaron Heilman, and Mike Pelfrey? We would feel the positives of a deal of this magnitude much more than Mr. Tarp Slider. Plus, if we DO love mark so much, we make this trade and then sign him... if we're going to sign Buehrle, its not going to be till the offseason anyway, why not get a boatload for him right now?? Regardless, Mark won't be wearing a White Sox jersey next year, so having him go down with the ship this year would make no sense.
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 09:53 AM) Every Wednesday and Saturday all summer long. used to be every night... you know, when we actually hit the damn ball.
  21. QUOTE(Chi Town Sox @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 01:02 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/photo;_ylt=Alm...101&prov=ap GOOCHIE GOOCHIE GOO!
  22. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 08:49 AM) If we could convince Contreras to be traded, would he be the #2 pitcher on the market? If the current #2 is Steve Trachsel then yes, he would...
  23. FYI, we should be asking for the world and getting it for Mark Buehrle. We could not have picked a better season to be sellers. The following taken from the NY Post.
  24. Minaya will jump at the opportunity to get a character like Buehrle in here, and i would not doubt that he could re-sign him either. If we got Pelfrey/Milledge for Buehrle, you can consider this suckfest of a season a success in my book.
