  1. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 09:06 AM) Even though it's normally a bad idea for teams to trade pitching for position players, I would be shocked if the Yankees would give us Cano for Garland, let alone Cano and another SP or prospect. Interestingly enough, the Yankees are starting a AA pitcher (not Hughes) named Chase Wright that they're also really high on. They have Pavano, Wang and Mussina all ailing right now, but not major injuries. I think Cano will win 2-3 batting titles over his career, and he's a bargain for the Yankees right now, on a team with a huge payroll that still has seeminingly insurmountable starting pitching issues. Cashman would pass on that deal, just as the Astros' Purpura took Jennings over Garland. I think you overrate Cano, I do not see multiple batting titles in his future. That being said, Garland for Cano would be good for our organization, of course.
  2. QUOTE(gettysburg32 @ Apr 15, 2007 -> 02:40 PM) swinging and missing at Joe Borowski hangers, enough to make you puke, and this game is ova! The swings this team took today were utterly pathetic. How does an 82 mph curveball that's high and out of the zone get us swinging all the time? Tadahito... pathetic. AJ... pathetic. White Sox pitching? Yes.
  3. QUOTE(SoxGovernment @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 10:03 PM) i live in nebraska and i find it the most exciting series of the year. LAME
  4. Jeez, the worst part about it is there are still front row seats available in Cleveland for tomorrow's game... those fans don't give a s***... we Sox fans would have filled Miller Park more than Cleveland's ballpark will be this weekend.
  5. QUOTE(salty99 @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 01:55 PM) Sorry folks the games are going to be in Cleveland. Tomorrow's game may be changed to an afternoon start though. http://cleveland.indians.mlb.com/news/arti...sp&c_id=cle boo
  6. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 01:26 PM) I dislike the hippy A's in general...get a haircut and stop smoking the whacky weed. Swisher was growing his hair long to donate it to kids with cancer... Oh, and I hate barry bonds.
  7. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 12:42 PM) Does everybody realize that Cleveland is still there right now, playing a game? They wouldn't even have to leave. That's the idea... f*** f*** f*** i hope it happens! I've got my debit card ready to purchase EIGHT tickets now.
  8. I've already got a group of 6 ready to go on Saturday... I'm thinking it won't happen, though. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) I have been praying for this since last week. Plus I've always wanted to see Miller Park. I'm ABSOLUTELY IN and we need to look for each other if this happens. Miller Park is the s***. If they do it like they did with the angels series, tickets will be available through clevelandindians.com or milwaukeebrewers.com for $10 any seat in the house. It'd be so awesome.
  9. I think the banner is great... however, I used to like the revolving banner... This one has been stagnant for so long, and there is nary a player (who actually played) in the 2005 World Series. I suggest this be changed.
  10. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) How far is water street from the ballpark? Close? Also, anyone have hotel recommendations? It's incredibly close. Stay at the Hilton or the Howard Johnson, you'll be very satisfied.
  11. Lost is more than back, baby... tonight's episode and the trailer for the final five of the season were f***ing amazing.
  12. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) If this happens Im for sure making a road trip out of it. Ive never been so I need bar advice. Anything on Water Street is the absolute s***. Just hop in a cab and tell them to take you to Water Street... it's laced with bar sexiness. You should definitely hit the casino too... lol.
  13. I'd be there in a heartbeat.
  14. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 11:27 AM) The game last night drew more fans that it would've in Cleveland. I wonder if it would have drawn that many for a Brewer game...... Over 18K the entire two levels were full. Dude, the Jake would have sold out Opening Day and throughout the first series... BUT what are the chances of the Sox actually playing at Miller Park this weekend? Has anything actually been said about this?
  15. forecast for cleveland this weekend is rain/snow. Could get interesting...
  16. Let's go Sox! QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 11:16 AM) Are we going to end up playing Cleveland in Milwaukee this weekend? if we do i will s***
  17. QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) i cant wait for the new chuck palaniuck book to come out next month, its gonna be great Yeah, I've read them all, I think "Choke" is the best thus far... something about the anal beads lodged in his rectum... I swear you could feel the pain.
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 12:40 PM) http://www.talkbhawks.com/forums/index.php...0entry219 Two things, the thread wasn't posted when I posted this, and I haven't been able to log on under my moniker in sometime, so until that's fixed (i've sent emails) i'll be posting here!
  19. Of course, the one year it really doesn't matter... they held an 8.1% chance of getting it.
  20. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 11:55 AM) DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter Do a google search for either. Yeah, I use those two every time. However, you can't download them anymore. I have the files on my home computer and can zip them for anyone interested.
  21. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:52 AM) I hear the Marlins received 300 pts and a 4.5 prospect. They did better than that, they got the 2017, 2018, 2019 2nd rounders... no points though, they've been abolished. QUOTE(iamshack @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:53 AM) Well, Kenny has got the technique exactly right in this instance: You don't try to pay the price for a proven relief arm. You either go after someone with a good arm who is still unproven, or someone who cannot put it together for whatever reason. Gillick should take a page out of his book- it's sitting there wide open for the rest of the league to see... Or someone who has injury history (see MacDougal)... what a trade!
  22. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:48 AM) I think there might even be more interest in Thornton than Jenks. Jenks has whispers surrounding him about his fastball and the lost velocity and injury issues. I've been encouraged he's relying more on his offspeed stuff instead of relying upon a relatively straight 93-95 MPH fastball (see Billy Koch in 2002-03). 1) Thornton 2) Jenks 3) MacDougal 4) Masset or Sisco 6) Aardsma I think Thornton's age moves him down the list... turning 31 soon. Bobby, regardless of the rumored lost velocity, still gets the job done and is young and has some sexy fat. QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:49 AM) If this were ootp, philadelphia would jump at the chance to trade Ryan Howard For Andy Sisco Absolutely! BTW, AJ... Sisco is currently a Minnesota Twin!
