QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Feb 18, 2007 -> 02:14 AM) Is the lefty Danks? wtf? no that's mark buehrle! QUOTE(Vance Law @ Feb 18, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) I thought the same thing when I saw this. He looks skinnier- his face anyway looks like he's in better shape, and um, duh, he has a goatee now.

I'm sorry, but this is bad business... I can see JD, Buehrle, and Tada all being highly annoyed that KW felt the need to talk honestly about this.

Hardaway is an idiot.

If they can get back to that exciting play of 05, the pablo stealing of home, the first inning sacrifice bunts to move a runner over... I'd love it. They weren't the definition of small ball in 05, and I don't want to be the definition of small ball, but better fundamentals is something this team truly needed in 06, and I hope it happens.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 15, 2007 -> 07:56 AM) Another great episode with some backround knowledge of Desmond finally coming into view. The Deja Vu thing was creepy, especially with the re-living of his life. When the ring chick started telling him what he was supposed to do, I about jumped out of my chair. If I were Charlie, I would be s***ting myself right about now. Yeah, man, that was a great twist at the end that Charlie was the one he's been trying to save. That was an excellent episode.

Jim Thome on the Oprah show this morning
Steve9347 replied to Al Lopez's Ghost's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah i saw this, poor Jim... he's really going to get it. -
I personally feel that this is going to be the Red Sox' year to take the East if Matsuzaka is half as good as advertised. Josh Beckett is sure to bounce back, I like Papelbon as a starter, their offense will be as lethal as ever. We'll have to see.

OK, this is pretty badass. Someone reversed the "brainwashing" scene from last week's Lost. Starting at about 23 seconds in, the phrase "Only fools are enslaved by time and space" can be heard, repeatedly getting easier and easier to hear. Here's a link to the reversed video. Let me say, once again, this is badass. reversed brainwash scene from Lost

Very interesting, they have Danks rated ahead of such Godly spects as Mike Pelfrey and Justin Upton

Heads, shouldn't you just be asking me about the "Knights roster"?

Bears bashing boggles the mind
Steve9347 replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 12:18 PM) Clearly the Jets were better than the Bears...afterall they did beat us in there home stadium right? Oh wait, wrong. For god sakes we out played the Pats in New England and could have and should have won that game. Albeit I give the Pats all the credit for finishing and pulling off the win but the Bear bashing is beyond ridiculous. We pretty much rolled through the season and people still whine. I heart the Bears, but we did not outplay the Pats. Our defense played wonderfully, but the only reason we even had a first down was because of multiple bad pass interference calls. Rex threw up so many rainbows in that game I wanted to vomit. -
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 12:13 PM) WCIU is absolute garbage. I can distinctly remember 5 games last year where the audio was messed up and I had to take out the radio and listen to the silence that was Chris and Farmer. HA. happens on Comcast Sportsnet too.

Bears bashing boggles the mind
Steve9347 replied to Controlled Chaos's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
They lost by 12 points, and the game was within reach in the 4th quarter. The criticism is out of hand. I cannot believe the way the nation has taken to making fun of Rex Grossman. He's not a bad kid, he certainly was not the worst quarterback to ever play in the Superbowl (as people have thrown around as fact), and it's embarrassing to see sportswriters like Rick Reilly dedicating their entire article to making fun of Rex. It's ashame that a team that dominated the NFC all year would be made fun of... how many times did the Colts make the playoffs before they even REACHED the Superbowl. This was just the second year of this regime, and next year should be even better. I'm sick of this s***. -
I for one was always a big fan of Erstad, but feel his signing might in fact just hurt the chances of Ryan Sweeney who has put in his minor league due and definitely deserves a shot. KW's obsession with Erstad is well noted, as he ALMOST gave up Jon Garland for Erstad a few seasons back in a deal that I believe was nixed by either Erstad or the Angels. At this point in his career, Erstad will not be stealing 20 bags, and his ability to play centerfield may have dropped as well considering the Angels limited him to 1B because of his inability to stay healthy. Personally, for the amount we got him for, if Erstad can stay healthy he could be an excellent 4th outfielder, but I'd still rather see Sweeney given the shot. We'll see what happens.

Comparing the AL Central Starting Rotations
Steve9347 replied to GreatScott82's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Feb 10, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) I would say: 1. Tigers 2. Indians 3. Sox 4. Twins 5. Royals The Tigers clearly have the best rotation from top to bottom, the Indians have a fairly solid 1-5, while the Sox only have a solid 1-4 that cannot make up for the question mark at #5. ^^ -
Well, she doesn't seem to know what she's talking about, but at least she's nuded it up on screen before. Kudos to Charlize for being a hot idiot!

Miss baseball in the offseason? - Think you're better than KW?
Steve9347 replied to knightni's topic in The Diamond Club
I don't see a reason to break it up either. The insane draft classes are going to help level the playing field, etc. etc. We've gotten to a point where most of the league is fictional players, yet we are all referring to them as if they do in fact exist. Harvey Alden, Alvin Brinson, Richard Kane, and David Candelas are DPBL household names. heh. -
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Feb 9, 2007 -> 11:30 AM) I remember when the first came out, it was revolutionary to see that good of animation. Yeah, there were Dateline stories about how revolutionary the animation was... it still holds up to this day and stands out as one of the best animated films of all time. And word up on the Slinky remark... its too bad ol' Ernest kicked it.

You shouldn't call a strike on Michael Jordan! If I remember correctly, didn't he hit a double or something?
