  1. QUOTE(shipps @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 01:52 PM) Its baseball that officially changes the seasons for me.Nevermind that its 40 degrees in April.It is spring because of baseball and excitement for the summer ahead.And then football changes the seasons once again in september even if its 85 degrees in september. Agreed. When that first White Sox Spring Training game comes on the radio, I roll the windows down in the car, and just let the season begin. My God I love baseball.
  2. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Feb 2, 2007 -> 01:44 PM) If you gave me tickets to see the Tigers in the WS, I would pass because my guys aren't there. If I were in Detroit, and you gave me tickets to the WS, I would go... if I couldn't get a lot of money for em!

    The Office

    that whole episode was great. I particularly enjoyed Dwight quizzing Ben Franklin throughout the episode bc Jim said it was the real Ben Franklin.
  4. First Sox game was in '94, I was 11... my dad got some LF seats behind the bullpen. I remember it was very hot, and the White Sox lost in extra innings to the Tribe... that's about all I can remember. Oh, and I drank a bunch of Cokes out of commemorative cups, and had like 6 cups by the end of the game... it'd be kind of cool to see who was on those cups.
  5. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 31, 2007 -> 06:55 PM) Watch more aqua teen and this wouldn't be a problem ^^
  6. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jan 29, 2007 -> 10:54 PM) How do we all feel about the assertion that Fields' bat is about as good as Crede's? I'll believe it when I see it.
  7. great article on the White Sox, and I had to include the awesome picture of Josh Fields for the F of it. linky
  8. .342, 52, 148, 84 stolen bases, 1.000 fielding percent in CF, gold glove
  9. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Bears soooo much. That being said, White Sox World Series was more special than this moment, as much as I'm enjoying myself right now.
  10. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) The point is that he'd never face lefties. Iguchi, Konerko, Dye, Crede and Hall are pretty good against lefties I hear. Pure rumor though. wow. you just listed so many outfielders to base that response on! well done.
  11. Erstad... hmmm, an oft-injured lefty who can't hit lefties (a whopping .238 from 2004-2006)... just what this team needs. bad signing.
  12. QUOTE(bad at best @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 01:06 PM) pierzinki :uhoh :uhoh
  13. QUOTE(bad at best @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) Its an interesting topic. The first pitch is such a crucial aspect of an at-bat, often determining who has the advantage for the rest of the at-bat. Alot of batters like to take the first pitch to get "settled in", expecially the first at bat of the game. I think Buehrle has taken advantage of this fact through his career; however at this point the gig is up, EVERYONE knows buehrle pipes the first pitch. In order to have success moving on he will need to adapt and keep the batter guessing, especially on the first pitch. welcome aboard! as for first pitches, it is so much more valuable to the hitter to take that first pitch, because being up 1-0 is such an advantage over 0-1, its worth the risk most of the time to let a cookie float right over the heart. i think most batters pick a spot in the zone, that if they get a fastball right there they'll take a hack, other than that, they aren't swingin'.
  14. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 12:11 PM) I have zero problem with that. If Dallas wanted to give up a 1st round pick for Lovie, you make Rivera the head coach, and you have two 1st rounders to work with. worst idea ever. aside from the mutiny it would cause, you don't let the coach who took your team to the superbowl for the first time in 21 years and is just getting started walk. f*** that.
  15. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 11:45 AM) The rumor is the guy Jones wants is Lovie Smith. he can eat my ass.
  16. I'm so done with "experts," like Mike Golic knows anything more about the NFL these days than anyone else. All of those people are just ex-players who mostly sucked (apologies to Theisman).
  17. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jan 22, 2007 -> 09:27 AM) My nephew was talking about this also ............... said the jerseys were the bad fake ones ..... my sister tried to buy him one of those, he said no way he didnt want it nice kid.
  18. this is going to be a great superbowl.... OMFG GO BEARS!
  19. The $4.99 pizza at Dominick's deal is still going on, and it is quite tasty.
