Dear Concerned Soxtalkians,
I am starting to get a taaaad worried about this team. But, there might be a light at the end of the tunnel...
Our problem lately has been hitting. Sure, sure, you say, "Mark Buehrle can't get anyone out!" Guess what, he's Mark fishin' Buehrle. He IS getting rocked right now, but by the time August rolls around (holy crap, it's almost August already) guess what? He's going to be pitching like a legitimate number 2 again.
Garland is coming around, Garcia threw a gem tonight, Contreras is rounding back into pre-DL stint form (it's rather funny that two of his best outtings of the year resulted in losses after he was saved countless times in horrible starts,) and Vazquez is going to hit his stride soon... it's a Coop thing.
The reason I am not so worried is, A. thank Christ, Detroit lost tonight and B. our hitting has truly been the problem lately, we just haven't done it since the All-Star break, but it will come around. This lineup is stacked... the 3-4-5 of Thome, Konerko, and Dye just needs to get hot. We all know when big Jim gets hot, he can hit 10 homers in a week.
Plus, I have reason to believe that KW is not going to sit idly-by, something big is happening.
But honestly, when this team picks it back up, and starts hitting with RISP... we are all going to forget about the July hickup.
Sincerely,
Steve9347
