Congrats to six Charlotte Knights on IL All-Star Team

gotta love those Charlotte, or should I say, Carolina Knights!! -
^^^^^^^ never go with the obvious answer when you can bring up comments such as "sox nation is lazy" my iguchi Japan comment was based on the fact that Japanese see ichiro and vote, regardless if he were hitting .200 or .400, much like joe idiot who goes to a major league baseball game and see yankees or red sox next to a player and votes for said player regardless of whether he's heard of him or not. im just surprised that doesn't carry over.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) You see, the way I look at it is, Get Iguchi in as a Starter. Or die trying. the way i look at it is, white sox won the world series, white sox might win another, i dont give a f*** about the all-star game... last year i thought pods deserved it, this year iguchis stats are quite padded by one game on sunday... he's just not an All-Star in my book... no no AL second basemen are

QUOTE(Be Good @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) Jessica is much better looking the Ashlee. wrong. maybe you havent seen ashlee lately. she's way better looking than her older sis. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) So, I'm guessing that there was some plastic surgery involved here? she had her nose done QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) You have very good taste in women. aboz. its bonerific

QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) I just put in a quick 50, and I'm probably going to do sets of 50 every hour or so today. Does voting end at midnight eastern? but.... why? sorry, this board already claimed the scott podsednik award. that's enough for me! what i find surprising is that iguchi doesnt get the backing from japanese voters that ichiro does.

QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 02:44 PM) A lot of people call Dekalb boring. I say they're just not hanging out with the right crowd. And I couldn't tell ya. To be honest I have no idea what you're talking about. wow. dekalb can be a BLAST. I have my season tickets for this year, and its going to be a great time. the key is to rent a hotel room for everynight of a game, so you can party like ya did in college (for myself, i just graduated in december so i still have a good time.) Britt Davis, b****es! QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 08:52 AM) NIU beat themselves in Michigan. They could of won that game. I'm not a big Horvath fan to be honest. I miss Haldi already. They got Britt Davis who ran the 5-wide offense at R-B, but they moved him to receiver. And they need him there because I believe Shatone Powers and...I can't remember the other guy's name at the moment...but they both graduated. If they keep playing these big name schools, hopefully they can get some better recruits in the next few years. It's easy to get lineman and linebackers in the midwest, we need some skill players though. NIU beat themselves in Michigan, Northwestern, and in the MAC Championship... but this was all with the awful Phil Horvath. This is great NCAA football in DeKalb, you can't argue with that.

To put it bluntly, I did not know what to expect going into Superman Returns. I had read mixed reviews of the performances and story-line, but was still willing to see a 10pm screening the day it came out. Boy, was I glad I did. Superman Returns is absolutely breathtaking. Not only was the story incredible, but Kevin Spacey brilliant as Lex Luther. Of course, my worries were about Superman himself, and Brandon Routh filled the role marvelously. I cannot imagine a better Superman than himself. Now, the casting worked out well, and so did the story. Though there were a few story lines that strayed from the comic series, the story really flows. As for the film visually, I am going to go out on a limb and say that the special effects were the most realistic of any film I have seen. The scale that this film was on was truly massive, and it was pulled off perfectly. Not only are the destructive scenes great, but the calming love story of Superman/Lane was pulled off very well. And you cannot ignore the homage to Superman I and II. This truly did seem like a continuation of that series. I loved it, and think it may actually have been better than Batman Begins.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 06:45 AM) If you scroll down, the article says Kenny Williams is in Pittsburgh. The Tribune is speculating that he's there to see ROberto Hernandez or solomon Torres. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines With Oliver Perez being demoted to the bullpen [is 2-10 this yr with a huge ERA, after having a down 2005 with a + 5 ERA as well], could a deal be swung for Perez? He'd be in the sox bullpen. But he may need some work with Cooper. With the kind of stuff Perez has, if the sox could get him back on track, they could be sitting on 7 SP's going into 2007. Pitt needs all the help they can get. If the Sox could part with some arms like Tracey, Haegar and Heath Phillips, Pitt would have to think about it. Esp. if Pitt thinks Perez is back to his old days of +5 ERA's--which is why San Diego traded him] sure, if your goal is to acquire pitchers that suck.

QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:07 PM) I didnt know what to expect from him entering the season. But that first month, watching the way he Selected his Pitches and Crushed balls, .310, 60HRs and 150 RBI was a certainty............... Going about things the way hes doing, he wont hit those numbers. hahaha, only mcgwire, sosa, bonds, ruth, and maris have EVER hit 60... yet you expected it?? -
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) Like the sig, but I'm a huge fan of your avatar. I miss Arrested Development. as do i kev, as do i.

QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) he really is becoming a great hitter. Now if only his fielding would come around. Dont count on it though. bwah hahahaha

QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) I think the history was that the White Sox became the first team since 1993 to hit grand slams in three consecutive games, but I might be wrong about that. this is true. it was shown on a lovely espn graphic, a few minutes before the end of the game.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) What's even more interesting is that his BAA has sky-rocketed during this stretch. Usually it's the walk-rate that causes a high WHIP (well, outside of Buehrle), but his was actually higher in June. His BAA was .211 in April, .243 in May, and .338 in June. My personal theory is that it seems like he's trying to nibble more for some reason, so he's behind in the count more, racks up higher pitch counts, and thus gets hit more when he has to throw strikes. That's very similar to what happened to Jose when he was bad last year. yes, but a lot of his hits he's given up have been on 0-2, 1-2... though he did work up in the count a few more times than usual last night. However, that slider he was sporting was f***ing nasty, regardless of the final outcome of the game. He should have stuck with that more than with the fastball that got slaughtered.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) As of a month ago, his ERA was 3.86. He's been maddingly inconsistent and his overall numbers don't really justify his contract or his reputation. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the criticism, and rightfully so. interestingly enough his WHIP (a more accurate description of how he has been pitching, is still only 1.31... only .05 worse than Mark Buehrle, .01 worse than Freddy Garcia better than Randy Johnson, Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers, Jon Garland, Joe Blanton, Zach Duke, Jon Lester, Brandon McCarthy himself... oh, and going into yesterday it was better than Buehrle's... similar to Contreras' season last year before he got rolling

I actually had my first bad experience with someone working at the cell last wednesday. my dad drove in from rockford to meet me at the game, he's a cards fan. it took him 3.5 hours through traffic and another half to park, and he got there in the 2nd inning with our boys already whooping up on the cards. i then hailed the beerman to get him and myself a brew. i asked for an mgd and a lite and passed 20 down the row, he gave me a lite, and change for one beer, and started to leave. i asked him if he planned on giving me the mgd, and he yelled back, "next time ask for two." and i said, "um, i did, but ok" then he proceeded to keep yelling, "if you want two ask for two" (which I did at the beginning.) Until finally the whole section had to yell at the f***er that i, in fact, did order two DIFFERENT beers and then they all told him to shut the f*** up. however, i dont see this as the rule, but rather, the exception to the rule. 99% of cell employees are very kind, helpful, and attentive.
