QUOTE(Damen @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) Exactly. Until I see Vazquez have a run like this one, I'm going to believe McCarthy is the better starting pitcher. And I don't think you can hold his bullpen numbers completely against him. There is going to be an adjustment period in knowing you need to be available to pitch every day versus every fifth day. post of the week, just for putting that link in there.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) Im starting to become not as high on McCarthy as I once was... if we could add Tejeda I wouldnt mind parting with B-Mac. Think of the offensive power we would be.... wow. im going to go out on the limb and say that this team's got enough f***ing offense. let's hold onto our young pitchers and take our chances with clutch cintron and d-stud uribe. this team does not need tejeda, not at that price tag (both for what we would give up and his salary)

i am now convinced photoshop needs spell check!

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 11:16 AM) Javy was ONE pitch away from keeping this game at 2-1. One freaking hanger. So maddening. it is funny. an example of his mental-midgetness. he gives up the two run bomb, and john miller (not to suck his dick or anything) basically called that berkman would hit a homerun after burke? was walked... javy, all-world talent, but he s***s himself too much.

I dunno, if Tad has a couple more decent games, he's got a great head-start to the week (2 homers, 7 RBI)

don't forget about my new grinder rule in recognition of last night!

due to the last one being somewhat similar to something else on this board. for last nights' and any other comeback. and no, the #72 has not been used yet

Memo to Jim Thome: Please adjust to Inside Pitch
Steve9347 replied to Hangar18's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) Actually, I've seen the opposite out of him lately. He's waiting and being too selective. Pitch #1 : strike down the middle (taken) Pitch #2 : ball outside Pitch #3 : fouled off an inside pitch or called strike Pitch #4 : ball outside Pitch #5 : called strike three agreed. another pitch that has been getting him is the curveball that's in the low, outside portion of the strike zone. he's taking it way too much. the man can hit, so he got owned by oswalt... that happens to many. when he hits [prediction]3 homeruns in the series vs. Pittsburgh[/prediction] it will all be forgotten. -

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 11:24 AM) When the green seats are done, the park will look the best it ever has. Loving it. i was just saying the same thing the other day... QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) ahh nicely put, your parents must be very proud of you. ohhh no, he did not just bust out "your parents must be very proud of you."

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 09:16 AM) With him most likely unavailable last night, it basically gets reduced to a 2 game suspension. Its better to be a little short against the Pirates than just about any other team out there right now. I think its the right move. I think Montero will be sent down and Politte brought up by tomorrow's game. Although Politte wasn't all that effective his second time out. word

it was a nice little comeback. gooch took care of business and may be busting out of his mini-slump. here's hoping the sox get back in the w column against the awful pirates

Soxtalk Fantasy Football Leagues Sign-up
Steve9347 replied to Sox1422's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
id like to get in one, too. -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 11:38 PM) It still sucks to come all the way back and not be able to pull it out. Though, the last time the Sox did something like this on a Sunday night ESPN game they had an extended period of success afterwards. taguchi...

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) Vazquez has been our best pitcher against the Indians so far. He's just not fooling a lot of batters right now, and his WHIP/ERA is flying up. wrong, he is fooling hitters. he's just making stupid decisions (along with AJ, tonight) such as throwing a fastball on an 0-2 count with 2 outs... he just doesn't have it, plain and simple. now, remember, jose contreras did not get his act together until being with the sox for a full year. give him time, he's way more valuable than luis vizquaino and el duque

Smoltz.... no Jones... yes chances of either happening... none

Joe Crede's bright future v. Josh Fields, Ryan Sweeney
Steve9347 replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(hi8is @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 11:30 AM) i dont see sweeny in the leadoff position and if he takes over for pods, who would lead off? well, we're talking years from now. if you think pods is going to be on this team in 3 years, i think that's pushing it... -
Bulls Golden-State Trade rumor floating around
Steve9347 replied to southsider2k5's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) Another rumored deal: Bulls: Tyson Chandler #2 overall pick Suns: Shawn Marion shot down by pax on boers and bernstein as "ridiculous" i don't see either trade happening, but I'd rathe take the golden state package. -
OK, it's obvious Joe Crede took his sweet time developing into what he is now: an elite third baseman. He fields his position well, has great numbers that stack up, and most importantly, it can never be argued that he rises to the occasion. However, this does pose a problem, though a good one. The White Sox have Josh Fields looming, who no one can argue is very close to the next level. Through 64 games with Charlotte this year, he is batting .321 with 11 homers and 39 RBI. However, Joe Crede is still young enough that I would appreciate him being around for years to come. Then there is Ryan Sweeney. The solution to the Fields/Crede backup is to have Fields work in the outfield. Unfortunately, he's not going to learn centerfield (where we have an opening now and in the future), nor is Sweeney. Sweeney is still just 21, but is a future star in the big leagues. Personally, I don't think we have much to look forward to in Jerry Owens, who is not even hitting .250 in AAA. I see Sweeney taking over for Dye or Podsednik when either one of them leaves, but what about Fields... as Hawk would say, "where will he play?!"

im just still so shocked that two signatures that are modelled after the same ad campaign, in which all of the ads are similar, could come out so.... similar. must have been a ripoff.
