QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 03:56 PM) The only way Ozzie is replaced as manager are the following scenarios. 1.) Aliens park their ship over the Cell and take the man approaching the mound making a wide sign for bobby jenks. 2.) Lighting strikes Ozzie on his way to the mound to replace a pitcher. 3.) We suddenly suck for a few years. 4.) He gets arrested for murder or gambling. 5.) He quits. or his hemorrhoids explode during the first inning of a game, and he slowly dies from the loss of blood and his feces getting in said bloodstream. it could happen...

wow. your version of the White Sox front office would look something like this... Jerry: "What's the deal with Ozzie? He's got us in first place, but he's got a potty mouth." Kenny: "Gee, Mr. Reinsdorf, let's check ESPN to see what the fans all over the country, especially on the East Coast, think." Jerry: "Great idea! To the information super-highway!" JR and KW skip over to Jerry's desk. They open ESPN.com's SportsNation poll to see what the fans really think of Ozzie. Jerry: "My goodness, this isn't very good." Kenny: "Shucks, what should we do?" Jerry: "Isn't it obvious? We have to fire him. ESPN never had a poll about Jerry Manuel or Terry Bevington, so see if they are available. Also, see what Cito's up to while you're at it. Kenny: "Uh oh, look at that link." KW points to a link entitled, "Chisox' Pierzynski voted most hated player." Jerry: "Good call, trade him for a bag of potatoes while you're at it... oh and ESPN thought Don Cooper should be in New York, so can him as well and get Cashman on the phone to see if he can help them out."

QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 09:31 AM) Forecast says scattered storms. Looking to the northwest what's coming this way doesn't look that significant. I don't think a decision will be made pre-game to cancel unless the storms develop much more than they currently are. Might be a bit wet, but if things stay the same they will play. thanks for the tip, Steff QUOTE(HeGone33 @ Jun 21, 2006 -> 09:43 AM) www.weather.com yes, any monkey can go to weather.com, i was hoping for season ticket holder info that might have experienced a similar game and would know around what time the game would be called.
-
Hey, I've got my pops coming in for the game tonight, and was curious if anyone had any info about the weather (if this rain will clear up) or when they would announce a rainout. I would think they would be hardpressed to call the game because the cards only come here this once, but the sooner I have any info, the better.

im going to be at all three of these games. my old man is a huge cards fan... we'll probably kill each other.

QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) Right, but that's IF he wants to pitch long relief. El Duque didn't and KW shipped him out. BTW, dumb question, but does Belfour really have a Sox sticker on his mask? naw, i photoshopped that little sucker on there.
-
QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 03:53 PM) I'm sure that Coop could get him back to an above-average level, but there's just no room for him here... unless he wants to pitch out of the 'pen. um, that's what i was talking about.
-
from ESPN insider This is a great opportunity. Coop has worked wonders with many pitchers in the past. We could EASILY get the Angels to pay well over half of his salary for the remainder of the contract (say the Sox get stuck with paying 2 mill a season). This guy still throws heat, but is struggling with control. This has a KW move written all over it. Plus, with the way Garcia and Garland have pitched thus far this season, he could be a very useful insurance policy in long relief when needed, so B-Mac could be saved for the later innings. I dunno, this is another guy that NY screwed up (see Contreras, Vazquez) and I don't think it would take long for Coop to rectify his confidence issues (ie "throw fastballs and more fastballs"). He was a very solid pitcher in Detroit, and still has nasty stuff... Plus, he's still only 29.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) I feel bad for the guy's family and certainly he shouldn't have been murdered over it, but this is never a good idea: "The incident began when Sandoval's sport-utility vehicle and the suspects' sedan cut each other off at the intersection of Pulaski Road and Lawerence Avenue, Gorris said. The cars then began to "play bumper tag" as they headed northbound on Pulaski Road, which becomes Crawford Avenue in Lincolnwood." I'll say it again, you never know who you're f***in' with. :headshake yeah, and he should have kept his ass in the car. again, i feel very bad too, but get a license plate and call a cop... your kids would have appreciated that over getting out. either way it's tragic, and unbelievable.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 01:34 PM) Not to hijack his thread but I'm uber bored and am currently taking requests. Let me know what you want and I'm on it. bored? here's a suggestion... get a job or get some friends.

with him straight to hell, i imagine. -
Boers and Bernstein is the best local sports show... period. Mac, Jurko, and Harry are f***ing retarded. Oh, and I miss Carmen & Silvy in the mornings... my days go like this. i avoid north like the plague, because mike and mike is just so damn good... AND there is always a decent amount of white sox coverage then, i stay on espn 1000 for salisbury and rosenbloom, because they are ok then, dan patrick, because murph's show with the interviews of the oldest men in the world and the s***ty s***ty s***ty sound effects until two. then, the nexus, boers and bernstein, very good. then, white sox baseball on a good day (and i am enjoying B&B Overtime)

QUOTE(SoxFan76 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 08:25 AM) Word of advice: Don't read his stuff. He wants to make you mad. exactly. who is jay mariotti to question whether Ozzie is the right guy to lead this team to an encore title? that's the dumbest thing i have ever heard.
