  1. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 14, 2006 -> 02:43 AM) Hopefully for Herm's sake, he can make it back out on the mound for a team at some point in the next few years. But with his and Politte's deals up at the end of the season (combined salary around $5M IIRC), we'll definitely be after 2 veteran set-up pitchers this off-season. I still think Politte will turn it around after some rest on the DL.
  2. JUNE 12, 2006 While doing a google search for some old soxtalk s***, i came across this post about Thome. It's funny to see what soxtalkers thought of him then!
  3. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) Storylines? What is this, wrestling or something? well, they may touch up on HGH or talk about other games in the league... rather than just hearing dj and hawk ramble on and on and on and on. not that i dont love them
  4. burnt bridges take a while to reconstruct. plus im not benching jermaine dye to play that f***, im not benching scott podsednik to play that f***, im not moving pods to center to play that f***, and im not benching jim thome to play that f***. we don't need el caballo... he doesn't fit.
  5. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 12, 2006 -> 11:08 AM) I've got a neck. I'm fine with the way they are. word. i sat front row in section 152... perfectly fine with turning my head. you lazy f***s!
  6. i have my softball on sunday nights. last night's game was f***ing perfection. we went into the bottom of the 7th (equal to the 9th, for you non-softball players) down 8-3. We scored 6 in the inning to walk-off with the win. Obviously, there were drinks had after that game.
  7. I get so sick of that s***, but last time they were simulcast on ESPN and WCIU, ESPN came through... tonight its on CSN and ESPN... how will we fare? I love the Hawk and DJ, but I'd much rather watch the game in beautiful HD color with more interesting storylines, better graphics/camera angles, and so on... if anyone knows... let me know...
  8. It's on... Take this from someone who's been with every pitch of this team, this year and the past. Last night, clutch 2-run single by MVP candidate Jermaine Dye in the eighth inning. Tonight, not one, but two comebacks... one against the guy with the most consecutive saves in the league (though don't ask me how a junkballer managed that)... these last two games were such a resilliant bunch; I am so excited... we're getting it done with singles instead of the homerun ball. This was championship baseball at it's best, and I am happy to say that I am a f***ing Chicago White Sox fan. Stretch. It will.... you can put it on the board............................................. yes.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) Soxtalk tired of Garland stretch... yes....
  10. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) If/when Thome gets his average up, there's no question he's getting the MVP, he has been a beast. But since Dye has been more consistant, then yes, I would give it to him. Ichiro (who has amazingly heated up) and Alex Rios are also very deserving. stupid. david ortiz cant get the mvp. do you want to know why? DH DH = no MVP
  11. this was said about 2 minutes ago by Dan Bernstein, whom I do like, btw... Um, ok Dan. Let's see, who is better than the White Sox even if they have questions? the Tigers? No. the Yankees? No. the Red Sox? No. the Rangers? No. the Mets? No. the Reds? No. I mean, they may be having their problems, but the White Sox still match up well with anyone, and are as much a "World Series team" as anyone else.
  12. My feelings are different. Last night, I was at the game, and instead of hanging on every pitch... or flipping out about Garland giving up bombs... I was relaxed. I looked around at a sellout on Thursday night, saw the amazing banners of the World Championship. I've come down from the ledge. Instead of expecting the White Sox to blow it, I always feel like they are right where they need to be. They are playing pretty bad baseball right now, and still have the 2nd best record in baseball. How funny is that? As the season wears on, I'm sure I will hang more on wins and losses.
  13. my first thought is "no thanks." but on further examination, considering this is his walk year, so we wouldn't be stuck with him... i kind of like this idea. id prefer brady clark, and i pretty much think cincy won't deal griffey (they CAN win that division). yeah, cameron, good call... if anything he could always just break his face again.
  14. yesterday i was sitting first row behind the bullpen (158, row 8, seats 23-24) those were some pictures. i got some nice ones of coop and some really good pics of garland and tracey warming
  15. i converted someone by taking him to the ring ceremony
  16. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) best route? the redline. that helps... so much.

    Crede

    QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:34 PM) Like his dropped foul popup against Boston last year? CLUTCH. i was at that game. we lost. it sucked. and then, magically, we won the world series! give the guy, and out kickass announcers, a break

    Crede

    QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) How come every time Crede makes an error, DJ and Hawk have to defend him by saying how rare it is for him to error and that he's still "the best defensive 3bman in the business"? Crede committed two errors on one play which any other 3Bman would have made and ended the inning, allowing the Sox to retain their 3-2 lead instead of giving the First-place Tigers a gift tieing run in the 7th inning. I'm insulted by announcers who try to excuse a player's error by saying how he's made that play in the past, how much he's contributed to the team this year, etc. They give praise where criticism is necessary. shut up. he also scored the go ahead run. give the guy a break, he makes almost every play.
  19. What's up soxtalkers? I recently got a new job three weeks ago, and I have yet to go to a game straight from work. Tomorrow, that changes. I need to know what you guys think would be the better route leaving Mount Prospect between 4 and 4:30. Should I take 294 S 90 E exit 55A (35th) OR 294 S 55 N 94 E i know 90 takes me by O'Hare, but its the more direct route. I'm used to coming from the Naperville area, but obviously don't have a choice tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
  20. Sean Tracey... now im f***ing happy! he'll get some people out!
  21. im sorry. I love jermaine dye. i f***ing love him, BUT Jim Thome is most deserving. He leads the AL in homers and RBI and has completely changed the makeup of this offense. I think they should BOTH be on the team.
  22. QUOTE(POPPY_HIDALGO @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) My thoughts are with Politte and his family as they try their best to deal with this problem. I hope all goes well and he can begin living a normal healthy life soon. um, as far as I can tell, no one died, and Politte makes more money than any of us could hope for... this is a little overboard.
  23. that Anderson. He real bad.
  24. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 05:05 AM) This is his chance to be a fixture in our lineup right here. He may play again tomorrow, and if he hits well again, the calls are going to start coming in for him to start over Uribe more often. Needs to make sure he doesn't give up any errors with his defense though. i've been making that call since the day we traded for him. i loved this kid in arizona.
