  1. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) Didnt see on thread on these.... they look reals nice for those who are attending soxfest. Has the Sox logo and the score of each WS game, along with the WS logo and MLB trademarks from the actual game used balls. they are beautiful. my fiance' works with Excelon (obviously you all have seen the HUGE Excelon sign in the outfield) and she got one of those about a month and a half ago and gave it to me. It came with a plastic case and stand. Very, very nice.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) Anyone who thinks Griffey is still a top flight defensive centerfielder either 1.) Hasn't seen Grif play D in about 5 years or 2.) Doesn't know s*** about defense and baseball in general. Griffey hasn't been himself for quite awhile now and anyone who has seen a Reds game knows this. Somehow it doesn't surprise me that those two would say something like this and then dismiss all that oppose. I believe that they openly admitted that Rowand was the better centerfielder, but they wanted the White Sox to take the chance and lessen their defense in the outfield to help the anemic offense. However, in hindsight, I think things worked out all right.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 06:20 PM) Calling the time out would have worked if Tillman knew the rules of the game. He stopped covering even though no whistle was blown. f***ing tool. I want this guy driven out of town so fast, he is killing us time after time today. he is having an absoultely AWFUL game. What's the status on Azumah? is he up to speed where he can take over in the second half?
  4. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 06:19 PM) Tillman & Muhammed = Panthers MVPs wow. we need a huge second half. carolina has owned us with steve smith and deshaun foster. need a takeaway by the defense. im going to vomit with nerves.
  5. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 06:17 PM) Defense really blows the cock there. That one hurts, 2 possesions down. thats rough. that was a bad move by lovie to call that time-out. should have been happy with a one score game going into the half. he got greedy, and carolina made him pay.
  6. im sorry bobby, what's that? i can't hear you. ive got 2005 white sox world series memorabillia in my ears.
  7. Im stuck at the UC because of the damned Hawks game, but we're getting the game in the Pub... sounds like I'll be leaving the ol' desk at 3:30. Let's go Bears!
  8. we should definitely NOT take a look at him.
  9. I have a feeling KW is going to sign a few more lefties to have them all come in and fight it out in spring training. Might find a diamond out there.
  10. anywhere in Chicago about 3.5 months ago... you know, when white sox fans bought them.
  11. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) I thought this was a pretty interesting perspective about the Sox in 2005 from a Cub's fan. I assume there are many more like him. http://baseballanalysts.com/archives/2005/...windy_citys.php sounds like a tool who will never get true satisfaction out of sports and rooting for a team.
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 25, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) Orton's stats do indeed tell the story. It tells us that he's horses***. Orton is horses***. On a side-note, Muhsin Muhammed sucks ass. Rex Grossman hit him wide open quite a few times, and he dropped at LEAST three balls, including a touchdown. Also, the lone interception Grossman threw came after he hit Moose wide open that would have given them a first down, except Moose dropped it. I like the guy, but he's getting paid way too much to not hall in those passes. This happened to Orton, too. Grossman looked fantastic today. His arm is sexy as all hell.
  13. i personally like this deal, bc bedard is a young lefty who we could use out of the bullpen this year, and could start next year. you throw in a prospect and im sold. we could lock up bedard for years. He is the same age as Garland, but I believe has higher upside. Bedard has been in the league less than Garland, so the White Sox would have more leverage contract wise for a few more years... and he sure won't cost 10 mil a season.
  14. its funny, there's this little event known as christmas happening in two days. im not sure but that might have something to do with it.
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) I'll pass on Bradford. Specialty right handed relievers are worthless, imo (Ie guys that can only pitch to righties). bradford's knuckles are as worn out as his knees... always on the ground. budump bump ting
  16. we'll see. KW had a hard on for Ponson for many years, but I'm glad he realized to steer clear of him this off season and last.
  17. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) He used to look like that back when he played for KC. However, after seeing him with the long hair and such it is odd to see again. with the A's and Red Sox for a little while, too, he was clean-shaven. however, now it looks weird... and the NY on his hat definitely looks weird. I wonder how redandblack feels about this.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) I could care less if we get another lefty reliever. I'd rather just get quality arms for our bullpen, righty or lefty. yeah, the whole lefty vs. lefty, righty vs. righty thing is a tad overrated. however, having insurance in case cotts gets hurt would be sexy.
  19. Geez, we're only 4 games under .500 with absolutely no one on the offensive side of the puck. If Ruutu could get back to 100% by the end of January, a playoff run is not impossible. (Of course, if Daze were to ever come back, that would help even more. However, I doubt that ever happens.) However, I believe it is foolish and unprofessional for him to want to play with Finland, when he has missed 99% of his games with the team that pays him almost 4 million dollars a year.
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) Where the hell was Williams during negotiations? It's not as if we're stocked with relief pitching. New York must be offering Dotel the largest possible amount if he meets certain stipulations. So much for "flying under the radar" and offering him a minor league deal. dotel no pitchy until mid-season, and who knows if he will be effective then? this is a yankee/cub move (scott williamson), not a white sox move.
  21. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) Lets get a pitcher who is injuried at least once per season, unload the best offenivse player you have, and the one who is replacing him.. plans to leave after the 06 season.. Does the nats have a stud 2b that I don't know about? Tell me how this is a wise move to the Nats? are you insane? they have the best offensive 2B in all of baseball now with alfonso soriano. sure, his defense is bad, but he's a speedy, power hitting 2B who hits 30 homers a year easily. in the national league, he's going to run wild as well. now, vidro is injured as often as kerry wood, so i dont see why this trade hurts the nats, since they have a 2B to spare anyway.
