  1. QUOTE(TimoandAaron @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) L. Johnson vs. NYG McGahee vs. DEN. or Caddilac vs Pats. I need two. and my playoff hopes rest upon your responses. not even close, its Larry Johnson, because he's a f***ing monster and Cadillac vs. the Pats, bc Denver has decent run defense and McGahee has been a disappointment this year.
  2. QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) Blackhawks win 5-2 haha, not with the two rookies on defense. im thinking the hawks are going to lose, probably 5-3. i hope im wrong. though if they lose, i hope sully nets one.
  3. QUOTE(beck72 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 06:07 AM) Another name thrown out elsewhere has been Lidge. How sick of a bullpen would the sox have with Lidge? I'd like to see his contract status and see if that would match up for the sox and if the astros would part with him [as i've read he is on the market]. Lidge is a b**** and he got his b****-ass rocked by us. haha. we don't need him anyway, we need a lefty.
  4. QUOTE(JoshPR @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:33 PM) WHO'S KOREY? that's what i was thinking
  5. i'm as happy as a little girl!
  6. QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) Er.. I don't think you've read anything I've posted. I think that the Rowand trade was fine, and I was fine with trading Rowand for Thome. The only reason I had any problem at all with that trade was because we gave up two top lefty prospects, but I was still fine with the trade, despite overpaying. And I think that what TLAK is trying to say is that he knows that Kenny is trying to make this team better, but its still a sensitive thing ripping apart the team that brought a championship to this city for the first time since 1917. In this sense, I agree with it. Its a pretty dick thing to start trading away a fifth of the team after they won a championship. It might be a smart thing to do for the team in 2006, which it is in this case (with the exception of Vazquez unless Garland is traded IMO), but its still quite hard to see these players leave. all i hear is, "i love rowand, and i hate the white sox!" haha. i think we've made some damn good moves, and you're entitled to your opinions, but i do think you're a little too negative about these moves.
  7. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 10:05 PM) man, all ive got to say is that this offseason is almost as stressfull as the postseason im personally not stressed at all. the white sox won the world series and are trying to make themselves better... don't be stressed. enjoy yourselves. WE'RE THE WORLD CHAMPS!
  8. QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) Hell, its not popular, but I agree. yes, Felix, we understand you have a hard-on for rowand. you've stated it a million times. root for philly already. i thought you were a white sox fan, not an aaron rowand fan... guess i was wrong.
  9. QUOTE(TLAK @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) He has trash canned the best hitter I ever saw in Frank Thomas and traded the man threw the best single ½ inning a baseball I have ever seen in my life, in Orlando Hernandez. He disposed of the epitome of the World Championship team in Aaron Rowand, a guy we watched grow and regress in Marte and a guy who took one for the team in April that haunted his entire season in Vizcaino. He discarded Carl Everett who carried the offense at times. He dismissed the man who hit a game winner in the first World Series the team went to in 46 years. He is bringing in some big names to replace them but I miss my guys. I waited all my 53 years for a championship and now 6 of the 25 heroes from the playoff roster plus Frank – a quarter of them – are gone and we haven’t even gotten to spring training yet. The magic of 2005, of our guys, a team that nobody else respected but knew in its heart it could do it, a team that got great plays from the most unlikely sources is gone. The warmth I felt for the team going against all probabilities is being replaced fantasy baseball-like expected run production ratios. When Williams starts his BS about the Sox being a family all the players need to do is look how Frank, Aaron, Orlando, Damaso, Luis, Geoff and Carl were all s*** canned within 2 months of winning the ring for them -great family. When is Kenny going to stop killing the best thing that ever happened to the White Sox for a half century? HAHAHAHA
  10. well, things are not looking good on the Vazquez front... at least according to my MVP Baseball game. I'm currently in a season on MVP mode where my team of current white sox (who aquired Jim Thome mid-season, and all that jazz) is 122-25 and i did the whole el duque luis vizquaino, and chris young deal to get vazquez. He came over with a 5.69 ERA and 4-15... I was like, whatever, we'll turn that s*** around at the end of this season. He promptly got bombed for 8 earned over 5.1 innings pitched. haha, so, we're f***ed, because of my video game!
  11. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) ESPN.com: The World Champion Chicago White Sox have traded for Javier Vazquez, adding pitching power to a starting rotation that included four pitchers with double-digit wins last season. me too
  12. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Now if Conor Jackson was shipped with Vazquez.. Then we are talking a different story.. and I would have been pissed. I would have wanted Stephen Drew... that would have been the shyte.
  13. QUOTE(juevos @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) of el duque/vizcaino/young? i think i would have rather done that. i think you're on drugs.
  14. Javier at a Glance Here are a few stats that stand out about him. Career ERA: 4.28 This is not exactly what you would call top tier stuff, but is decent when you look at what has happened over the last two years. 3.42, 3.91, 3.24 ERA of Vazquez his final three seasons in Montreal. 4.68 Average ERA between NY and Arizona over the last two years. 194 Average strikeouts per season over the last 5 years. 219.94 Average innings pitched per season over last 5 years. 68 Amount of homeruns given up by Javier over the last 2 years. 29 AGE, perhaps the most telling statistic, he has many years left. QUOTE OF THE DAY -Coop on Javier Vazquez, 12/14 Vazquez has the makings to be a Freddy Garcia with more strikeouts, which is a good thing. Time will tell if Coop can turn him around, and hopefully he can. Vazquez has the pure "stuff" to be as dominant as Jose Contreras on his best day, and maybe more. Vazquez's ceiling is higher than Garland, Garcia, and B-Mac, but we have to get him to reach that potential. Knowing Coop, I think it will happen to the tune of 18 wins and a sub 3.50 ERA with 200+ K's. Here's hoping.
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) This is hilarious, people are saying don't get the very best SS in baseball because we have to give up a SS and a pitcher, and also we have people who are afraid of payroll like it's their own money. Unreal. This is Miguel Tejada, people. i think people are still in shock over what is happening this off-season, and refuse to let go of the cash-conscious way they have felt the last 20 years. I think our payroll is taking quite the hike this year... this is what winning a World Series does!
  16. Bruuuuuuce Levine (take it for what its worth) just said B-Mac, Juan Uribe, and prospects for Miguel Tejada... that'd be nuts.
  17. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:38 AM) So can Brian Anderson. They also can move Jose or Jon. Talk about a six man rotation, wow. this rotation is as good as most All-Star rotations.
  18. QUOTE(rangercal @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:33 AM) Would TB do it in Garlands walk year? they seem interested in dealing for pitching... plus, with Crawford's contract off the books, they could probably sign Jon to a three year deal if it were to happen (though you'd never get me to sign in Tampa)
  19. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) welcome to MVP baseball, real-life edition SnB, I was thinking the same damn thing. It is like Kenny Williams has become a fan, just out there aquiring any big name. I almost feel weird having this happen to the White Sox, happy but weird. JR must have bumped up the payroll significantly. I just hope they offer AJ a long term contract soon.
  20. let's just hope el duque passes that physical.
  21. Boys, the aquisition of Javier Vazquez is a nice move. We gave up jack s*** to get him (though Chris Young will be a nice talent). Now, this begs the question, what happens with B-Mac. This kid is ready to start at the major league level, so... I believe there is another deal going down, and I think either Freddy Garcia, Jon Garland, or Jose Contreras will be dealt and we will get a CF back. Not only that, but I think that center fielder is Carl Crawford. This is pure speculation, but it seems quite possible now.
  22. kind of odd to see an article on the OFFICAL White Sox website that speaks of the Vazquez deal... kind of makes you think its inevitable. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  23. QUOTE(FGarcia34 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) I was just throwing a name out there, but if you want to go by the article then El Duque and Young for Vazquez, now we all know that isnt going to happen. either way, Garland or Contreras were included. The White Sox feel too good about B-Mac to not have him start next year... and so do I.
