QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) I've never disagreed with an opinion as much as I do here. EDIT: SHAFTR, please don't take this as me trying to be an ass, I respect your opinion just I completely disagree with it. I concur, sir.

Chicago Blackhawks Offseason Bonanza Thread

Nice research, YAS. PS... sorry about our little confrontation a few weeks back. I blame booze. -
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) Do you got won? If so, I challenge you to a Mario Kart online match when it comes out. I challenge anyone to a race in the original Super Mario Kart for Super Nintendo. I will win... I f***ing guarantee it! Seriously, I'm the best... ever.

I'm still mad that EA had to purchase exclusive NFL, bc they couldnt compete with Sega's 2K series, which was absolutely phenomenal. This backfired on EA, when they lost the MLB rights to Sega, which screwed over my favorite baseball game. I guess the US gov't doesn't worry about videogame monopolies. f*** Madden, it's cartoonish, and the gameplay is arcady.

Chicago Blackhawks Offseason Bonanza Thread

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:54 AM) Weren't the Hawks up against some sort of arbitration offer type deadline where they could have lost TBo and got nothing in return? It seems to me I've read that somewhere. No, the hawks resigned TBO before arbitration for a cool 2.5 million. This was before the Khabibulin signing. -
QUOTE(KJean @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) WOW! I love both of them! Thanks! I'm still riding the darker Joe Crede wallpaper, with his mutton chops and his celebratory double fist pump. It gets no better. I dont remember who made it, nor do i care.

TO to Cardinals, Tampa, or Oakland
Steve9347 replied to Benson&Rexage's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Benson&Rexage @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) 1) To Arizona for Bolding I would guess you mean Bolden? Wouldn't make much sense, considering he's a younger TO. -
QUOTE(WSNS-TV44 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) What's up? I'm new here to soxtalk.com,but i'm glad i'm here.I've been a Sox fan since the day I was born May 13,1977 (I think we won that night vs the Indians). And the 2005 version of the Sox are giving me hope that we can finally shut up all those ass-clown Cub fans,and shock the Baseball world for good! Let's enjoy the day off,and get ready to beat-down on the BoSox!Oh and,.. welcome aboard!

QUOTE(Big Hurtin @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Is this Ozzie's friend? hahahahaha... 8 year olds, dude.
-
Oh geez... I love Ozzie. Now, let's look at this the right way. Many of us would do the same to our longtime friends... I call my friends "gay" all the time, just kidding and trying to give them s***. Now, do I have a problem with homosexuals? No. It's just something that is done, and I don't know why. However, would I call my friend a "gay" in front of my grandmother? No, I most absolutely would not. I love Ozzie, but he needs to figure out that, with a bay of 30 reporters near him, most wanting to get that precious "Guillen quote," he shouldn't be yelling that kind of stuff. It's called etiquette, Ozzie.

Griffey WAS a done deal before deadline

no s*** -
how about f*** Royals talk? let's go white sox. sure, ozzie should have brought Hermanson in to start the 9th, maybe he will learn from this.

QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) I can't see how any station would break up the #1 MLB radio team in America. :rolly #1 AL radio team... regardless, Rooney & Farmer are the best, IMO, and both need to be here for 2006.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Well...he did guarantee that his team would be in contention along with Cleveland at the end of the year... In all seriousness though...I'm starting to wonder if any large bats will hit the waiver wire in the next few weeks. That's something that could really help us. On the other hand...how many games in a row can your team hit with a .227 average? My worry is, how many of those bats would actually make it to us with Boston/NY picking before us?

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) Don't be foolish. Do you really think anyone in this organization favors Gload over Timo? NO! And as for Ozuna at DH....nothing like the added power from the DH spot. If Everett goes on the DL, something needs to be done. I think even the people who disagree with everything I say would be on the same page as me. Bernstein went on a 20 minute rant about the facts that... a. Dmitri Young is going to be waived b. the White Sox will get him take it for what it's worth, please. i'm just the messenger.
-
Well, look out, because though every team in the world owns him, Shawn Chacon is pitching tonight. Power righty whom the Sox haven't seen? It's going to be a long night...

It would be a sad day when John Rooney left White Sox radio...
-
We won't get Griffey, but if we did, he sure as hell would not split time with Everett. Griffey would be a starter, guaranteed. However, there is no need to discuss this, bc he won't ever be a Chicago White Sox.

8th August Game Thread - Sox vs. Yankees
Steve9347 replied to DBAHO's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Geez, you'd think the game would be on ESPN tonight, since every other Yankees game is on ESPN. -
I'd settle for him just getting another hit sometime this year... boy is he slumping.
-
well, considering how we're doing against the Blue Jays and Mariners, I'm a tad worried....
-
It was hilarous, they kept playing the soundbite on the Score. Ozzie was laughing his ass off. From what I hear, Joe is one of the funnier guys in the clubhouse, so I don't see it being a problem.
