  1. after last night, the whole south side it seemed, except for a few enlightened ones (myself included) were prepared to call this season over, and kill themselves. Shocking how one win can change all that.
  2. QUOTE(Balance @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) OK, then, what was the point of your original post? Balance, if you'll notice, anytime Steff has something to say, its a rip. She has obviously never heard "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Just ignore her, that's what most people here do nowadays, anway.
  3. Sidney Crosby would be a monster for this club, but he'll end up magically going to the rangers when they magically win the lottery.
  4. Oh goodness. If someone who were completely retarded to the baseball world were to take a look at this Chicago White Sox board, you would think that they had the worst record in baseball. Along with this many other things are quite obvious. Of course, Willie Harris needs to start at second base, Juan Uribe is the worst hitter in the AL, Joe Crede is dead, and God has a vagina. Wait a minute, none of that makes sense! On the contrary, at 62-32, the Chicago White Sox have the best record in baseball. Tadahito Iguchi, though his BA has dropped, has been doing the job right all year long. What happened in the first inning? Pods single, SB. He's on second, what do we do now, or rather, which would you like to see. a ) Willie Harris look at the first two pitches, and then go down swing on a third strike above his head. b ) Tadahito slap a grounder to the right side, Podsednik moves over. (this is what happened) HOLY s***! IT'S BASEBALL 1-2-3! Of course, this counts against Iguchi's average, and thusly looks bad in the stat sheet (where many a person at this board derives their information). Of course, Iguchi also doubled in the game, and if it weren't for Konerko being unable to be clutch all year, might have scored. Oh, sure, he had two errors on one play, his defense has really dropped off. Now his season total of errors is 7 instead of 5, he can't catch or throw anything. Joe Crede has been on the rise of late. He dropped a pop-up, which was a huge factor in the White Sox loss tonight. My God, it happens. However, how many guys have been as clutch as Crede this year? In the last week, he has single-handedly been the only guy who could do a god damned thing. THE WHITE SOX HAVE THE BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL!! THEY HAVE ONLY LOST THREE GAMES IN A ROW!! What has happened this year? The Sox win an assload of games, lose a couple, then go on another tear. Everything can't work out for us every night, we still have a ten game lead! Let's all take the tampons out of our assholes and be happy that the White Sox are world beaters right now! The Red Sox played a flawless game, and pounded the s*** out of the ball, and only beat us by 1 run when we committed three errors. Let's all take a breath, a s***, and a shot, and go to bed. peace, im outta here.
  5. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:45 AM) I'm going to be so pissed if their fans are like that tomorrow night when I'm there. they will be. act like they own the world.
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) The ionic particles from the Schilling bloody sawk fed a magic flea that summoned the invisible swordsman and he blessed the almighty sawks. Thats why we are a city of champs. Now Normy get me a Beer.
  7. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) I too was at the game tonight...I totally agree they are as bad as scrubs fans if not worse.....From the minute I got on the red line at Grand ave i was surrounded.....Every flyout was like I was at wrigley filed watching from under the upperdeck, i guess they have every right to be on thier high horse, but the way they watch a baseball game is strikingly resembling to a cubs fan......The only thing that made it better was when Timo gunned out the runner at third I thought the run hadnt crossed the plate yet and I went buck.....got up then i guess i flailed my arms and hit a boston fans beer and spilled some on him....then after I apologized and got him another beer, he had the nerve to tell me "you need to calm the f*** down, its only a baseball game" boston fan: hey you need to calm the f*** down you: sorry man, it was an acc.. boston fan (interrupting): HOLY s*** BAWSTON BAWSTON ORTEEEEZZ!! you: dude, it was a popup to first. boston fan: Curt schilling bloody sock! 3 games down! bawston! you need to calm down.
  8. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) WE LOST 2 GAMES IN A ROW, OMGSAFDKL;AJSGDADFS;LKJAFDS i'm sick of this jumping ship after a little hiccup. call me f***ing wild, but i believe its 3 games. either way, let's not f***ing abandon ship.
  9. oh i know. curt schilling had a bloody sock, red sawks came back from three games down, god is a red sawks fan. i could have killed someone tonight. dead serious. i could have f***ing murdered someone and gone to prison... and it would have been great.
  10. these fans are more obsessed with themselves than they are with the team.
  11. f***ing Christ. I was at the game tonight, my father to my left, and BAWSTON fans everywhere else in my f***ing section (112) Holy s***, these f***ers are annoying. Let me play out a situation and their reaction. There is a man on first, the guy batting grounds to short short... uribe makes a decent play to get the lead runner at second, then the throw to first is a hair late. The whole f***ing section goes nuts! You would think that the RED SAWKS had just hit the homerun to win the world series. Nothing important happened on the play except for the out at second. Also, those bastards jumped and flipped out everytime Ortiz hit a popout; they are worse than cubs fans and Chip Carrey praying for homeruns. The absolute most annoying thing was the four pricks in the rows in front of me, some old, near death tramp, some middle-aged douche bag man, and then two mid twenties women... each with their NESN signs that say in some different way how the "Biggest Red Sawks Fan in the world ended up living in Barrington or some s***," and everytime there was a break in play, they would stand up and smile next to the sign, dying to get on television somewhere in Boston. My God, these people are a bunch of fruits, and to be honest, did not know much about the game tonight, nor care. Bandwagoners, and regular Red Sox fans are all f***ing annoying!!! - not to mention the fact that we had to frickin' blow that one... geez what a way to end it.
  12. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) So in other words, maybe you should look at the numbers before you make ridiculous, and incredibly wrong, statements like this: "That said, its not surprise that he's inconsistent and he's been a little better than even his biggest supporters might have guessed." geez, one would think you were jose's mother... Contreras, it seems, has had the curse that Matt Clement had with the Cubs last season... his team's bats just seem to go to sleep on him. He has been decent.
  13. 60% chance of rain... boy id be pissed if tonight was rained out.
  14. yeah, he's not good. he's bad. bad player!
  15. if he's talking like this, why would we want to spend to get him? i dont disagree that he is awesome, but he doesn't seem to want to be playing baseball.
  16. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:39 AM) Alex Gonzalez? Alex freaking Gonzalez? He of the lifetime .292 OBP? You've got to be kidding me. yeah, why's everyone creaming over this idiot. he's bad.
  17. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) I understand that... I think it was his sb's and and avg that had me over-looking his D. Uribe = .236 Lugo = .290 not even close Uribe = 7 HR Lugo = 3 HR not too big a difference Uribe = 2 SB Lugo = 27 SB I though Uribe used to be faster, the fatass! Uribe = 9 errors Lugo = 17 errors is that difference too much? Uribe = 0 wives beaten Lugo = 1 wife beaten that may be the clincher Uribe has been so disappointing on all facets, I'd be willing to try it. Though Vizquel is my cream dream with his experience and ability to get on base.
  18. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) I'm surprised there was only reference to rowand batting fifth... last year when he was putting together a awesome second half wasn't he batting 1st or 2nd? this year he's been doing well when they put him in the two hole, but that's happened 3-4 times... i'm not sure of the exact # but he hasn't been batting 2nd enough... he can't bat in the two-hole, because Iguchi has been f***ing perfect there all season. he has been unselfish, and always willing to take care of business... however, i think rowand in the 3 spot would work with frank's struggles. something like this. podsednik iguchi rowand dye thomas konerko pierzynski crede uribe ?? the only problem there is having thomas and konerko in the lineup! haha.
  19. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 09:35 PM) Bugger, here you go; Thankyou for your attention Sir Knightni. nice wallpaper, but i would change it a bit... "Prepared in Cuba, Perfected in NY, Pissed Away in Montreal, Probably Done in Chicago" just my .02
  20. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) I would bench Frank,for Carl before Rowand right now. f***ing incredible point.
  21. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Even a .300 hitter fails 7 times to hit a ball. But I understand the short term memory of a lot of fans, especially after a loss. I hate to disagree, but there is nothing short term about it. Aaron has been disappointing this entire season, and to argue against that is just ignorant, and to say you didn't expect A LOT more would be lying. Yes, Aaron is capable of being a .300 hitter, but right now he is a .284 hitter. I believe KW and co. expected Aaron to continue his upward trend from last year, when in part time duty he hit .310 with a .544 slugging percentage. Hell, the year before (2003,) Aaron hit .287 with a .452 slugging percentage. What is his slugging percentage this year? A HORRIBLE .391. I am sorry but that is not going to cut it. Aaron Rowand has been a huge disappointment this year. I love him, but its true.
  22. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) Take me on Smart guy... I'm a season ticket holder. I've seen almost all the home games...live. I sit right behind home plate in the first few rows in the upper deck. I see his defensive postioning before pitches and for every batter. I can see the WHOLE field and watch WHOLE plays develop. Something you CAN'T do watching TV. I've seen the way he backs up his teammates, takes great routes to the ball, makes the correct throw, hits the cutoff man...etc. He is a great defensive outfielder who makes great decisions. I COMPLETELY disagree with you on your "scouting report" and agree with SS2K5 that you must be drunk. Now...is there anything more you'd like to add. no one can argue this, just look at his back-up of podsednik. my worry does not lie in his defense, but rather, his offense.
