  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:49 PM) Lets see how those wonderful lineups do against Buerhle, Garcia and Garland. and contreras
  2. QUOTE(JohnStamos @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) Awesome article. I've read a couple articles by Scoop Jackson and his unique style along with his knowledge of Chicago and the Southside mades him fantastic. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...on/050718&num=1 your avatar is f***ing hilarious
  3. QUOTE(Big Hurt Way Back @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) I'll be there tonight rootin my boys on. Waiting for Frank to hit one to me in row 5 center field. I have a feeling you'll be a getting a ball... but from Rowand. Just a hunch.
  4. its a decent looking sig, but you might want to get a picture of him with his current jersey number.
  5. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) To me Magglio is just the RF for the Detroit Tigers. If I were at the game tonight, I wouldn't even acknowledge him. Look where we are at without him. Everytime Jermaine Dye steps up to the plate, I think, Magglio who? Granted, he had some great moments as a White Sox and will be remembered as one of the better hitters. But it was his choice to leave and his choice to open his mouth. I hope he enjoys 4th place this year. With that.... I hope El Duque shuts him down everytime tonight. BTW, the last 4 game sweep by the Sox was against the Yankees in 2000. Hopefully, they'll get the same reception tonight as they did after that road trip. Come on now. If I were at the game, I would give him a nice little applause. Maggs was an awesome player for us, and until his departure never ruffled any feathers. However, I'm glad the White Sox did not re-sign him, bc that gave us the money to get sooo much more! (61 wins vs Detroit's 44)!
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) I'm intimidated by it too...but on the other hand, Mark Buehrle, Jon Garland, Freddie Garcia, and a Cuban in a row is pretty damn intimidating on its own. Seriously, think about Cleveland last week...They got beat in the first 2 games by Buehrle and Garcia, and they were sitting there looking at trying to salvage a split of the series at home, and standing in their way were Mark Buehrle and Jon Garland, the guys who may very well end up 1-2 in the AL Cy Young voting if Rogers's suspension isn't shortened and Halladay takes any time at all coming back. Now THAT is scary. wow, Buehrle is really getting it done!
  7. Wow. There is no way to rationalize what Casey Blake said. It makes no sense. I would guess that he must have been... a ) drunk b ) drunk c ) drunk d ) drunk e ) all of the above it's one of those. what a dips***.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) The Blue Jays??? Unfortunately for them, that other American League team started out slowly, and has a s***ty rotation that won't do well in the playoffs. But Al Leiter is so good!
  9. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Since the Sox and Cards are my two favorite teams in MLB, this article was VERY nice to read! This season has been fantastic thus far, and IF......well, you know.....IF...... .....it would be difficult having to root against the Redbirds. Well, now that I think about it, it wouldn't be THAT difficult...... Same here. I was raised as a Cardinals fan by my father, who grew up in St. Louis. However, in my impressionable years of being 8-10 years old, living in Loves Park, IL, I watched the White Sox on "Sportschannel" and fell in love with them. I have been a Sox fan for the last 14 years (am now 22.) However, the Cardinals are still up there. If it came down to Sox vs Cardinals, I hope the Cardinals get crushed in every single game. But, since my father is such a huge fan of the Cards still, I like to see them do well, and having both the White Sox and Cardinals with the best record in baseball has been a dream come true for us. I hope this continues, and this article was truly well-written.
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:03 PM) My dream Arizona/White Sox deal: Shingo, 2 of Willie/Timo/Ozuna for AAA LHP, Cintron Something along these lines... No! Don't trade Ozuna! He can't have that much marketability, and he's more valuable to us than anything AZ would be willing to trade for him (so much so that he would be included in a deal along with others.)
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:15 PM) My guess if this goes through, is Shingo for a prospect or someone in Arizona's system who's stuck in AAA and can go to Charlotte. Would absolutely love to see Shingo+Willie for Cintron but I don't think the Sox can pry Cintron away. Cintron has truly fallen out of favor with the Diamondbacks. If you listen to talk around the league, teams are truly enamored with Willie Harris' speed. I guess they all think he is a project that is too fast to not be interested in. Unfortunately, we all know this is not true, and that Willie Harris can't hit, has no stolen base instict, and sucks at defense (ie worthless). If the Diamondbacks can't give Cintron the everyday job after what he accomplished in 2003, then they are willing to deal him. I truly feel that a Shingo and Willie trade for Cintron could work, with perhaps smaller pieces working as well. This would be huge for the White Sox, as Cintron is a great defensive player at SS, 2B, and 3B, plus, I am in total believe that he could then become a staple in this organization. Anyway, this is just a cream dream, because if Pittsburgh is willing to deal Mesa, I think the D-Backs would bite on that before Shingo (duh!).
  12. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) go ahead and accuse boone irod sosa all you want. i dont care. they didnt have CANCER before making it big in the majors like lowell, that not only threatened his career, but his life. accusing lowell of roids is ridiculous, and it has been a well documented statement that he hasnt touched performance enhancing drugs To give someone a free pass just because they had cancer is ludicrous. I am not in any way saying I support the idea that Lowell was on steroids, but you can't just argue that he had cancer, so boo hoo poor him. That's like saying, well, he killed that guy, but he had cancer so don't pick on him. Anyway, his numbers have been bad, but he was never really THAT good anyway. I don't think Lowell took steroids, but am not defending him just because he had cancer. Though I do feel bad for him, and respect him for overcoming cancer, I don't give him a free pass for life.
  13. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm gonna make this sign: Jermaine Dye- .263, 19 HR, 47 RBI, 8 SB, $4 Million. Magg$ Ordonez- .254, 3 HR, 13 RBI, 0 SB, $7.2 Million. Boo the hell out of him. for only playing for a couple of weeks, maggs has been kicking some ass.
  14. If there were any way for the White Sox to start out the second-half, this was the best. They have won 4 straight, sweeping the Indians, while adding three more games to their lead in the Central Division (an incredible 12 game lead). I pray this is a preview of what's to come. We sent a message by going into Cleveland and really just kicking their ass. The only game that was really within reach for the Indians was the opener, when Contreras dominated them. Our four starting pitchers really showed up in this series, and showed why the Chicago White Sox are the best team in baseball. I am anticipating good things from El Duque in his return, and starting to think that our need for another starting pitcher is not great enough to outweigh our need for a little more bullpen help. I also think, that if Joe Crede stays healthy, we are fine at 3B. I refuse to believe that there is not at least a .250 hitter in him, and if he can do that over the second half, stay healthy, and play good defense, we're fine at third. I am a little concerned with our SS situation, but not enough to warrant a huge deal. Anyway, this started out as a little praise of this team's 12 game lead, so let me just say "f*** YES," and "GO SOX!"
  15. here's the editted version with your name on it
  16. I agree. For this year, Contreras is just as good as AJ Burnett. Both are liable to give up the big inning, but both also have dominating stuff.
  17. I just got home from work. There is no better feeling than hearing on the radio that your boys not only took care of business, but did so decidedly. PS I hear that Ozuna had himself quite the game... eh?
  18. I can't see your sig... perhaps it has been deleted from wherever it was linked from. Did you make your own sig, or have someone do it for you? If it is the latter, I would contact that person, because he/she may have deleted it by mistake.
  19. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) Now that bothers me alot. If there is any team out there that could probably trump us all with prospects, its the Twins. That doesn't worry me. I would be more worried if they were about to pick up a big time bat. Their pitching has been lights out all year, it's their hitting that has sucked. Oh wait, they have Bret Boone. We're f***ed!
  20. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 01:59 AM) It's not a filter, they're called scan lines. Where would one find that option?
  21. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jul 15, 2005 -> 07:45 AM) This was on the White Sox website....makes me nervous...If he goes down, we be f***ed... You're kidding right? Of all our starters, I'd say his going down is the least of my worries.
