  1. I agree, let's get something done. PS, itd be really nice to see Huff at 3B rather than Crede.
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) I believe that the Day trade would be a trade that KW will make to help satisfy SF's interest in two ML ready SPs for Schmidt. But, that saying... If Day pitches well for the Sox, KW might not deal him. that's what i said 3 pages ago
  3. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) Not only a change of scenery but being here would help especially since all the latin influence with Ozzie and the gang. just like the cuban influence has helped Contreras' control issues?
  4. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) I wouldn't be against Perez in 06; but, IMO he is too much of a risk for this year. exactly.
  5. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) He's 2-f***ing-3. This kid is so special if you ask me. Maybe he needs to get out of Pittsburgh and come to Chicago. But his competitive nature isnt going to put up with his play for long. If you say Oliver Perez is s***, you should watch basketball, or something else. Wow, I guess we're building for the future now. If you want a hothead who can't find the strike zone or stay healthy this year, you're crazy. Yes, that deal might look good next year, but unfortunately, I would like the White Sox to try to win the World Series this year. I don't want to build for the future. PS you'll be watching basketball a lot sooner if we depend on Oliver Perez to be a contributor on this team; like say after the first round of the playoffs.
  6. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) I'd give my right arm for Oliver Perez. His craziness would fit right in here. Oliver Perez is s***. His ERA is over 6, and he's had one decent year. He's having horrible control issues, is on the DL right now because he broke his foot, and his fastball is not travelling at all. f*** that.
  7. Hey guys, I understand that Timo Perez is not a starting baseball player. That being said, I don't think he is horrible, and I do think he has done a few good things for this club over the past couple of seasons. let's take it easy. As for Steamin' Willie Harris, I want him gone, but think he should stay over Perez. However, I do think that he has some trade value... he's still only 26 (i believe) and has great speed that scouts love, and can play 2B or OF. We know he sucks, but I think many GMs would be willing to take a risk on him and try to turn him into the type of player he always was in the minors.
  8. Here it is boys. Zach Day would be one of the two major league arms going to San Francisco with B-Mac. Obviously, we can't give up Contreras in a deal, and no one wants El Duque, so to get the other major league arm, KW is going outside the franchise. Its all a means to an end boys. PS, i dont know why everyone is complaining about a pitcher who had 2 of his past 3 seasons with an ERA under 4. When did we get this picky?
  9. I think when you have both Harris and Perez in the lineup, you should start Frank.
  10. I think the fact that Timo and Willie were in the lineup today was just an audition for interested teams. Obviously, no one is going to trade for Timo, but I'm sure someone would pick him up after he clears the 10 days. I think Willie is about to be bye-bye. I have a feeling that he might be going to other way in a deal, not only that, but I'm pretty sure what deal. Willie is going to be included in the Schmidt deal, I'm quite sure. We are getting Vizquel back, which gives us a backup at SS, and probably just a starter. Then Uribe moves to a backup role at SS and 2B, along with Ozuna. That's just my .02, and I could be completely off and full of s***.
  11. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) when you can drive to games yourself, things change. I used to go to 1 or 2 a year when i couldn't drive. Now average around 15. Having a job helps too exactly
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) Hell yes! BTW, for those who want to critiwue me on the few games I go to, I'm 15, have no job, car, or tickets. My 1st game will be on the 24th of July vs the BoSox. I start traffic on Monday and will get my liscence/car on August 27th. When I get a real goddamn job, My ass is buying season Tix! I'm 22, and can remember the days of being 15 very easily. I recently graduated, and now attend every game I have the chanec to. However, enjoy the days of being 15, with no responsibiliies and bills... go sox.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) ^^^ Quick Bandwagon Fan Quiz 1.) Name atleast 20 men on the current 25 man roster. 2.) What was the White Sox starting rotation in order the first week of the season> 3.) Who is the current closer of the Sox? 4.) Who is the Starting 2nd baseman of the White Sox? 5.) Who is the V.P. of Marketing for the Chicago White Sox? 6.) Who is the current Utility man on the White Sox? 7.) Who is Kevin Walker and does he suck? 8.) Is Timo Perez underpaid at $1mil? #5 will show how closely you follow the team for sure. yes, this will do the trick. though i think #1 would get most of these idiots. its also known as a cubs test, because about 95% of their fan-base can't name 10 players without saying sammy sosa.
  14. OK, I apologize. I did not mean to make the mistake; if someone can delete this thread, I would be much oblidged.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) Love them, because I can't pay to keep Buehrle around...and enough of them working together could. And no matter what they tell themselves...they know in the back of their mind that they're bandwagoners, and I know in the back of mine that I've sat here and watched collapse after collapse...just waiting for us to be the team at the top, while they haven't.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Yes, this is true. You must not lead a very happy life...
  17. I haven't seen this posted anywhere...
  18. Has anyone heard the new Sox commercial, welcomming people to get on the bandwagon? f*** that.
  19. QUOTE(rowand's rowdies @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 02:47 PM) the rowdies choice is "breadfan" by metallica. a somewhat unknown song, possibly a top 5 metallica song. download it if you've never heard it. screw lars. by the way, the rowdies commend soxtalk.com on your work to get pods on the allstar team. we did all we could as well. too bad our boy doesnt have the numbers right now, but he will. we will keep you posted on our next appearence. RR "Breadfan" is a great song. You could consider it a top 5 Metallica song, if it weren't a cover originally released by Budgie in 1973 on the "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend" album... They do rock the hell out of it, much better than Budgie ever did.
