  1. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING??? VOTE FOR PODS!!!!
  2. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) How many HR's is he on pace for. It has to be alot. I'm sure his bat will come around... I wouldn't mind if he kept up this HR pace though... by doing some simple multiplication, and assuming Frank plays in 70 of the final 80 games remaining in the season. he will finish with 35.9 (36) homeruns. If he actually played all 80 of the remaining games on the schedule, he would hit 39.6 (40) homeruns. However, this pace is ridiculous, and for Thomas to finish with 30 homeruns would be quite the feat. Now back to voting for Scotty-Pods
  3. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) We're not playing the Fish. The Fish were the 2003 National League champions and are 2-0 at US Cellular Field...both times as the home team. if you're going to be that way, you could even say that the Fish were the 2003 WORLD SERIES Champions.
  4. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) Wood doesn't throw any harder than Garcia or Contreras. There's no way I'd pay what the Cubs would want. I'm sure they'd demand minimally our top 2 prospects, and we'd end up paying his salary. That's too much for an inconsistent career NL pitcher with a bad injury history. Um, not that I want to trade for him, because I don't, but Wood hit 98 MPH in his last outting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Freddy and Jose don't hit 98. Either way, Wood sucks and I don't want him.
  5. hey guys, i just posted a huge SPAM message to every registered user of thefacebook.com who are in white sox and red sox groups... this is any student at any of the 65 Universities registered for this website, or rather well over 20,000 people. hopefully that will spark some pods love. PS just voted another 50 times!
  6. FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK FRANK PUT IT ON THE BOARD!
  7. QUOTE(Nokona @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 09:44 PM) Ladies and gentleman, we are sitting on a goldmine here. I haven't felt like this since the Illini's run last season and suddenly I'm starting to feel the same things I felt then. I don't want second place. PS, believe is a cubs term, and way overused. let's think of something else.
  8. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:58 PM) I will start asking some of the Bulls boards for their participation if it hasnt already been done be careful, you might make some cubs fans decide it would be funny to vote for jeter
  9. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) Where did you see that he was behind that homo? mlb.com and dont call me a homo
  10. KEEP VOTING!! Pods is behind Jeter. We have to constanty vote for Pods, he's got one-half a city voting for him, while Jeter has the world. We can do this, soxtalk.com

  12. Clemens will never be a Chicago White Sox. I suggest we delete this entire thread, bc he's not coming here. There are three possible places for him to land, if he is even traded from the Astros. 1) NY Yankees - the biggest probability, and I would put money on him landing here. 2) Boston Red Sox - a small chance, but I think he has burned too many bridges, and with Schilling and Wells coming back, the Red Sox just might think they are alright in the starting pitcher department. 3) Texas Rangers - keeps him close to home, and he would be an extraordinary addition to the club. ... not gonna happen) Chicago White Sox - best record in baseball, no where near home, and not a popular enough franchise in MLB... he will be a Yankee.
  13. PS, KW made comments about no talks happening between Seattle when the Sox/Yanks were going after Freddy, and look how that turned out.
  14. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) NO WAY the Astros give up Oswalt. They'd trade Clemens first. And that won't happen either. Exactly, the Astros aren't going to be sellers, they will be buyers. They are only a few games under .500, which in the NL means they are only 5 games out of the Wild Card.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) Iguchi is on a constant decline. The guy looks different than earlier in the year. he's batting .280, and has a double already tonight. You can't blame him for a bad third strike call.
  16. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) WE'RE NOT GOING TO FIND SOMEONE BETTER THEN JOSE AS A 4TH STARTER! HE WILL HAVE A FEW MORE GOOD STARTS! PLEASE GET A GRIP PEOPLE! GUYS LIKE SCHMIDT ARE A MILLION TIMES WORSE! I think you undervalue Schmidt. This guy has electric stuff, and would be a welcome addition to the South Side. Sure, he's had a rough start, but to say his arm is "falling off" is just inaccurate. Jason Schmidt is a top tier starting pitcher, and any chance a team has to get him would be great. PS... he has World Series experience, and playoff experience is what this club is lacking.
  17. I heard on the Score that Contreras would actually be included in a deal to get Schmidt (don't ask me why the Giants would want Contreras, unless the Sox ate his salary) I don't really see that happening.
  18. Great grab by Aaron, Great game by Freddy, Good all around game, nice to see the power come out.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:33 AM) The Brewers are just going to give us Overbay? Awesome! no, but he will be available for a decent price, ass clown.
  20. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:40 AM) Well, I suggested picking up lefty Mike Stanton when the Yankees release him. How does that move look now? very good.
  21. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) Giambi will be. He has $80 million dollars left on his contract and the Yankees won't be able to dump it. He will be on the payroll, but he won't be starting.
  22. WALKER?? WHAT THE HELL? at least we know why Marte has been sub-par.
  23. QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) Agreed. I only want him up here because he was decent in our bullpen for a year last year. But seriously, we all got hung up on Royce Ring, Kris Honel, Joe Blow, Mike Morse and Jeremy Reed. They will never live up to the numbers they put down at the minor league level. I will never see Jeremy Reed be that good. And for the old timers, they want to win. They don't give a flying f*** about guys at AAA...wouldn't you rather win a series and deal some prospects to get the pieces that are essential to put yourself over the top. f*** YES
  24. the question is, whom would you rather have? Pauly or Lyle Overbay? Overbay will be available because Prince Fielder is coming up through the Brewers system. I think Overbay would be a better fit on this team, especially considering Konerko's inability to hit in the clutch and what I am sure are going to be ridiculous salary demands. He will ask for Sexson money; maybe more. I hate to bid adieu to Pauly, but we can't afford to have him here. We are good right now because we aren't paying any single player a ludicrous amount of cashola. PS look for Konerko to be in a Yankees uniform next year. Giambi/Martinez are not going to be the everday boys...
