Wow, what a s***ty hit. Go get em, Jon... don't stop now.
-
Pods shouldn't have looked at that one... perfect ball to spray the other way. I can't complain though. He's 3-4!
-
Holy cow, one thing you have to love about this team is they find a way. They couldn't touch Grienke, and last year we would have been praying for a homerun, but this year is so much different. This team just seems to put the runs up when they need them. They are very opportunistic. Let's keep this up!

Ozuna!! SEEING EYE SINGLE!! YEEEESSSS!!

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 08:49 PM) Castillo drops alot of pitches. yeah he does

Cora = Balls
-
yeah baby! hit just hard enough!
-
YEAH JOE!!
-
6 K's already for Grienke? Come on! Don't let this be the game everyone swings for the fences game of the week!
-
I'm worried about Frank's swing. He's swinging so hard it looks like he's going to hurt himself. He needs to take it a bit easy.
-
I'm sorry, but Greinke's ERA is well over 5, approaching 6. We should be able to hit him, but we can't. It happens. At least Podsednik owns him!

GARLAND CRUISING

Anyone else find these DJ interviews annoying? I want to see the action! Let me hear the interview, but I don't have to see the two of them standing up in that awkwardly small booth!
-
Yes, I picked him up as a FA before his first start and couldn't let him go since. Though he's been on a downslide, he looks real solid tonight. Ever since fantasy I appreciate WHIP a lot more.
-
Alright Jonny, 0.50 WHIP through 2... keep it up.
-
yes, he just did... way to f***in' jinx it though.
-
couldn't ask for a better 1st from Garland...

Clemens would be a perfect fit for our club, but he's not coming here. Sure, we could use a big-time veteran with Cy Young stuff, but he has a no trade clause in his contract, and he is only going to allow a trade to Texas or the Yanks, and i'd bet the Yanks.

I can't say I'm going to fret about a guy batting in the .240's who swings like Uribe does... it was cute when he was hitting .330 in the early stages of last year, but since June of 04 his BA has been about .255. Nothing to fret about. Ozuna deserves the chance anyway... so give him a few days, he played great yesterday.

I just have a feeling. It seems like Mr. Moneyball is starting to eat his words, and though Zito isnt the Cy Young winner he once was, he is still a very capable pitcher with a sub 4.00 ERA over the last two months. Anyway, the guy you want to build around in Oakland is Rich Harden, fresh off the DL, and possibly Dan Haren. I would be willing to bet that Zito is not in an A's jersey come midnight, July 31, if not sooner.

Kenny won't trade for a 5th starter, he'll trade for a #2 or #3. I have seen Kenny impress me with his dealings, and get Freddy Garcia for Miguel Olivo and Jeremy Reed (Reed could be could, but I think that Kenny knew Olivo wasn't getting any better.) I would not be surprised to see someone like Barry Zito or Roy Oswalt. That is how Kenny does it. El Duque would be our dark horse going into the playoffs if we made it. BARRY ZITO = Chicago bound, I have a feeling.

My point wasn't that I wanted more coverage of the White Sox, but rather, less negative coverage. It seems like ESPN can't avoid ripping every single thing that goes wrong at the Cell.
-
I don't understand sitting Aaron Rowand in the middle of his RBI streak. I'm sorry, but watching Everett in the outfield is horrible. I would almost feel better if Timo was over there. Plus, I believe that Ozuna played a decent LF when covering for Posednik early in the year.

that might be a good point. PS, nice Avatar, Rock

since the other thread is only about Jayson Stark, and I have no beef with him, I started a new thread. One funny thing to note about their coverage is how much ESPN doesn't even try to hide their hatred of the White Sox. Perhaps hatred is too strong a word, but they obviously do not enjoy covering our pale stockings. ESPN is very set on their coverage of Yankees/Red Sox, and anything else is a threat to them. They have adopted the Cubs as the bearable team from Chicago (and the central region of the United States for that matter), but they can't handle the White Sox. Just look at these examples from the season. 1) Jeff Brantley (I think) from ESPN berrates Ozzie for his use of his bullpen during a game in which the White Sox lose. He went off, and basically made Ozzie seem like an idiot (meanwhile we had the best record in baseball. This is never done on ESPN, yet the only time it is done is to ridicule the manager of the best team in baseball? I'm sure Dusty Baker has done a few more questionable things this season. 2) ESPN the Magazine, to which I recently unsubscribed, has written articles about the Orioles and the Dodgers for their fast starts, all the while the Sox have had the best record, and look at what happened to the Dodgers. They also had a huge story about the poor Cubs, and their curses (with a half page insert about the White Sox.) 3) They make a huge deal about "Umpire Mistakes" only after the game in which they televised involved an umpire mistake which let Scott Podsednik safely into first base. 4) They have the Washington Nationals as the number one team in the power rankings (eastern team), compared to two central teams that have the top records in baseball (White Sox/ Cardinals) 5) During Sunday night's game on ESPN, though the White Sox were the team being televised, they had a special about some country singer and his love for the LA Dodgers, whom the Sox were playing, and then a 5-minute documentary on the CUBS! THE CUBS?? WHAT THE HELL?? It's never going to end, and I don't care if it does, because it is funny. PS I noticed something else that was funny. Last night, their was a little intro to the Cardinals highlights by Linda Cohn. I found it odd that she led into it with "Watch out baseball world, because there is a surprise team that just might be a contender... the St. Louis Cardinals." Did I miss something? Haven't the Cardinals had one of the best records all year? Didn't they go to the World Series last year? Didn't they add Mark Mulder in the off-season? Oh, wait. ESPN wouldn't notice that. They are all Red Sawx and Yanks. :finger
