I'd give GarPax a pass for quite some time if I can dream about a future that involves Doncic as a Bull before he's 35 years old. -

If Atlanta is enamored with Young then we need to swap our 7 with their 3. -

I'm fairly certain that is indeed the top 4. I think of the 7 players you listed, Carter easily has the lowest ceiling which is why I don't want him. You don't win titles with borderline All-Stars. The Bulls need to swing for the fences. -

But the cost of the Oden pick was losing on Kevin Durant. The cost of taking Porter would be losing on dudes like Kevin Knox. Of course draft position matters. -

He's not going to be the 1st overall pick taken over Kevin Durant... -

None of this matters. The only way the Bulls would ever get the #4 would be if they included the #7 and then drafted a guy at 4 they would've gotten at 7. They are incapable of doing things the shrewd way. -

Exactly. There are 6 guys who seem like they are bona fide All-Stars. Yes, anything can happen and there will be studs taken past pick 10 and dudes in the top 7, but today you want one of: Ayton Doncic (honestly my favorite this year) Bagley Jackson Porter Bamba The rest of the guys are clearly a few steps below. Of course any of them could wind up being the best guy, but on draft day, the six above are the clear top-6 who provide the most upside and/or difference-making potential. I add the difference-making because Bamba is a freak but I don't see him as the best player on a championship team ever. God dammit, I would love to see Doncic out there guiding this offense the next 10 years. That guy's my cream dream. Of course, we'll wind up drafting Wendell Carter or Kevin Knox whose upside is capped and be sold how they work hard. -

Sam Smith's mock draft just went live. He normally has a good feel on what the Bulls' brass is thinking... https://www.nba.com/bulls/features/sam-smiths-mock-draft He has us taking Carter and passing on Porter. This would be typical Bulls and is what I predicted in my earlier post this morning. He also has Porter dropping to 12 which I cannot fathom happening. The Bulls are destined to piss me off tonight. -

Anyone saying he's the next Steph because he shoots a lot doesn't understand how historic Steph Curry is. Chasing the next Steph Curry by drafting undersized chuckers is not a good long-term strategy for any organization. Hopefully Orlando takes the guy as they're in need of a chucker. -

If the Bulls could somehow land 3 or 4 and hold onto 7, tonight would be incredible. If they can somehow stick at 7 and still get one of Bamba or Porter, I'll be happy. If they stick at 7 and reach for someone like Carter or Knox (total Bulls move), I'll be mad. -

If they trade up to take Bamba I might actually have to go through with one of my many threats to just stop being a Bulls fan. If Bamba is there at 7 and Porter isn't, ok, but if you trade up to take Bamba over one of these other studs that's it. -
No, Renteria was the outsider brought in as a change-of-pace. Since he didn't work out, we're back in the previous cycle.

Having suffered the Robin Ventura era, I have a hard time jumping on Ricky when the games absolutely don't matter. No need to can him now - move along in the off-season to the next former White Sox player with no managerial experience.
-
Those balls are going to keep him out of the booth, unfortunately. Broadcast has to be all sunshine and rainbows, and the only negativity needs to be toward the umpires.

There's a reason we got Giolito AND Lopez in a deal for the oft-injured Adam Eaton. Giolito just isn't very good and is certainly not going to reach the potential that once saw him as the game's top pitching prospect. He's beyond awful right now and needs a AAA bath, but I don't think an SP4 is out of the question long-term. I'm not ready to give up on the guy yet, but his era last year was all luck and he's clearly showing his ceiling is an SP3 at absolute best.

Someone needs to update the thread title to: Kopech no longer "getting closer". My take is this is simple psychology. The guy is ready for the big leagues and is not engaged in the minor leagues anymore. We're seeing regression because he wasn't called up when he was ready. You bring him up and he'll shape right up and, obviously, be our best starter the second he's called up. I understand rebuilding, but when prospects show they're ready and are past the Super 2, it is detrimental to their development to leave them in the minors for no reason.

I want to see Frank on screen as much as possible. Having said that, the announcers all suck because the team sucks - not including Benetti, who's awesome no matter what's happening. If anything exciting were actually happening on the field (Moncada* running into one now and again, Eloy or Kopech being called up, etc) the broadcasts would be more bearable. *Speaking of Moncada, the broadcast teams have gone into full-on excuse mode as to why this guy has hit the wall. It's constant and annoying.

SI's latest mock draft from today has Doncic at 4 and the Bulls winding up with Carter: https://www.si.com/nba/2018/06/19/nba-mock-draft-2018-rumors-deandre-ayton-marvin-bagley-trae-young-suns-kings-hawks-cavaliers-knicks I really want the Bulls to find a way to get two of the top 7 guys... -

It'll never happen, but the 1-22, a second rounder, and eating Parsons should be enough for the 4.
