  1. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 18, 2014 -> 03:28 PM) Well, I guess I've waited as long as I can for a PS4 The Show bundle to be announced. Apparently Meijer is having a deal where if you sign up for a credit card, you get 32% off your purchase, big ticket items included. Seems fishy, but I am going over there to check it out anyway. May come home with a PS4 tonight after work. Go get em. I pre-ordered my The Show PS4 boner copy from Amazon a month ago. Please come to me, May 6.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 03:31 PM) MLB.tv just got Chromecast support. That's pretty cool, though it's already on PS3/PS4 with awesome interface.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 08:43 PM) Blues fans cheering for hits while the hawks have a breakaway at the other end. They're idiot baseball fans. Clueless about hockey. They think every hit is Big Mac's 70th.
  4. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 04:37 PM) No Oshie, huge, also no Berglund. Their 3rd and 4th lines are severely lacking. f*** em
  5. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 02:21 PM) Unveiled today.... The Steeglemore. Hopefully Steeger plays as well as Macklemore raps, who knows how well Kaner/Toews do right off the bat. jayzyz
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 10:14 PM) For those following, Steve was good on his bet. Sox talk has integrity. Well, duh.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 17, 2014 -> 07:04 AM) Jose Abreu created the game thread before midnight. Next thing you know SoxTalk crashes for over 12 hours and Leury Garcia is pitching. Ha.
  8. QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 08:04 AM) I completely forgot that my signature has the Tadahito Iguchi fan club stuff in it until someone just asked me to join. That's what I get for turning off signatures. You may remove me from the club.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 08:47 AM) But the Bulls won't be favorites against the Nets and then they won't be favorites again against the Pacers, so that scenario is very unlikely. At least with the 3 seed they get a relatively easy first round and it's always fun to play the Heat, even if the result is inevitable. I think the Bulls are favorites against the Nets.
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 10:00 AM) And most importantly, his sister-in-law is D.J. Tanner. Speaking of, she dressed as Ariel on last night's Dancing with the Stars. But who cares, DJ Tanner was always ugly anyway. EDIT: And yes, I watched some of that with my wife. F*CKING SUE ME. They've shown Valerie Bure multiple times, and my wife is so tired of hearing about him and his brother from me.
  11. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 15, 2014 -> 09:36 AM) Just re-visited all the controversy surrounding his draft status, hadn't thought about that in a long time. It was crazy. His Wikipedia page was a good read. Also I like how randomly you got one with his 96 instead of his 10, had that for 2 seasons. Then went back. It's funny, could you imagine anything like this ever happening in this day and age? The pick was controversial, as the Canucks had chosen him seemingly a year ahead of his eligible draft season. At the age of 18, he was available to be chosen in the first three rounds of the draft, but in order to be selected any later than that, he would have needed to play in at least two seasons—with a minimum of 11 games per season—for his elite-level Soviet club, the Central Red Army.[24] While most teams believed he was ineligible, the Canucks' head scout at the time, Mike Penny, discovered that Bure had played in additional exhibition and international games to make him an eligible late-round draft choice a year early. Jack Button, the Washington Capitals' director of player personnel, admitted "everybody would have taken him earlier. We assumed he was not eligible... you've got to give the Canucks credit for doing their homework."
  12. Valid point on the 96 - believe it or not, it's tough to find a nice shot of Pavel.
  13. I mean, what a stud. Back to back 60 goal seasons in the early 90s, and then 58 and 59 goal seasons in 99-00 and 00-01 (ie, when the NHL went out of their way to lower scoring). I wish his knees hadn't died.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 06:04 PM) The first Hawks game I ever went to was against Vancouver to see Bure play. It was back in the era black, yellow, and red Nucks sweaters. Back when they were cool.
  15. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 05:59 PM) True story, I have an authentic black Bure jersey (it was a touch large as a kid so I can still wear it). Back when you had to order that kind of stuff through Jerry's Pro Shop. I remember those days.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 08:40 PM) Steve actually sent me his PayPal info three weeks ago. Best jinx ever. Ha. To be fair, you told me to... PM, please!
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 10:46 AM) I'd rather the Sox move on from Beckham. He's drawing walks, playing solid defense, and his bat is starting to come around. I also strongly doubt he continues striking out at this current pace. This x infinity.
  18. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) Teemu is the man. I'll be watching as many Ducks games as possible for as long as they last in these playoffs. I was obsessed with him and Pavel Bure as a teen.
  19. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 02:42 PM) Oh boy. I can't even.
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 02:39 PM) Also Nashville is a really fun town. I'd want to live there if I didn't hate country music. Nashville is awesome - and when you're there, it's best to just enjoy the country music. We went down there for CMA Fest 2012 and just had a blast.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 14, 2014 -> 08:52 AM) at mid-season or sooner if we can buy him on the cheap and the D-Backs go into sell-off mode. http://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/mlb/...odgers/7681701/ Would seem to be the perfect fit to "bridge" this rotation to the future one that features the #3 pick along with Sale/Quintana...sinkerballer's his best pitch, which would seem suited for USCF...and they're not locked into the contract after 2015 unless he performs well enough to earn his paycheck. 14:$7.7M, 15:$12M, 16:$13M club option ($0.3M buyout), 17:$13.5M club option ($0.5M buyout) 2017 option increases by $0.5M to $14M with top 2 finish in Cy Young vote any year 2011-16 Cahill may void 2016-17 options if he is traded and finishes in top 2 in Cy Young vote any year 2011-16 That said...90% of it depends on what happens with Paulino, Johnson, Beck and the overall position we're in heading into June. I wouldn't want to give away anything of significance, just taking on the financial commitment...but there's obviously a decent-sized risk he wouldn't turn things around, too. Nice, a guy who can't get anyone out who's only owed $46.2 million. Where do I sign up?
  22. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 13, 2014 -> 08:46 PM) He's like 37 and literally can't get a guy out sample size
